View Full Version : Cloak Bubble needs to come back as an option for AMS

I Really think they need to add the cloak bubble back as a cert in conjunction with the AMS on the sunderer by removing the weapons to allow it to cloak with a cert. I think that will balance it by making it so it cant shoot and create better fights for infantry.
I say this because lately I've noticed that it seems to be pretty hard to find a good infantry fight recently except at major zerg fest areas mainly only the crown or bio labs. Reason for this is that I think it is way to easy for AMS's to be spotted by aircraft. In ps1 this was one of the factors that contributed to great fights by trying to figure out the location of the AMS by the direction of the flow of infantry that were coming at you.
Reply yes or no and your thoughts on it as well.

I would like to see the cloaked AMS version back in game. Now that I have good weapons on my Sunderer, I'm not sure if I would use the cloak as much if I had to give up weapons. There's nothing like turning a corner full of enemies and deploying letting the empire rush in while using your Bulldog turret.
With OS's coming back, it may be needed however. I would imagine if they did this, they would remove the guns *shrug*.

I actually would like this, although I used to be against it, to give infantry a bit more of an advantage over vehicles. It would definitely need to remove the guns, though, and perhaps reduce the health a bit.

Cloak bubble for AMS certed Sundie in exchange for removing all armament...? I endorse this. With ecstasy. Gives infantry fights a new lease on life, particularly against the airzerg.

Why don't we buff attack more so now the only way for the defense to even FIND the attacking spawn point is to figure out which direct they're getting farmed from?

Yes. Cloaked AMS helps the side at a particular location with fewer people and therefore helps them remain in the fight longer. So, a cloak is part of the package that is necessary to buff the infantry game.

Thanks for all the responses guys keep them coming. User input is needed so the devs can get our feedback.

Yes. What price? 1000?
Also, does the bubble shield against infravision? Thermal?
Doesn't matter that much, you could generally work out AMS locations in PS1 in about 1 minute.

If by fewer people we mean "an organised team". That seems like a terrible idea. In a zerg outnumbered, even more so.
A cloaked AMS which can't be seen by the already zerged defenders who are desperately trying to defend the swiss cheese base the devs gave us .. doesn't seem like a very helpful feature.
The defenders are stuck putting one sundie inside their shields and the attackers now get 4 cloaked spawns anywhere in a 500m radius?
I'm not against it but I think we need a few steps in terms of a metagame before cloaking on that scale is viable.
I'd rather we give engineers CE deployables that have a bubble ..

Whether or not they bring back the bubble will make almost difference to the overall game experience.
