Ok, I know this is one of those topics everyone feels strongly about, but I hope the conversation doesn't devolve into name calling or some such.

Not long ago, I started a thread by asking how I could improve my game experience. As a long time FPS gamer (and not too bad at it I might add) I had become really disheartened after playing this game for a few days.

So disheartened in fact, that I decided to become a forum member and ask some questions. Something I've never had to do before.

In that first thread I wondered about a lot of things, but much of it boiled down to not being able to keep up the ridiculous xp claims and, well, flying... flying aside, however, the situation has gotten much worse.

I found myself getting out shot quite often. At first, I maintained a decent 2 to 1 death rate. Now, after playing much longer I have experienced several days, nearly a week where I am outshot 10 to 1... I am not making these numbers up. Especially in 1-1 where I usually shine.

At first I tended to believe the hype that "Planetside 2 is UNLIKE other games and you need to get used to how different it is from other FPS's." or "Planetside 2 is much harder" or my favorite "HA! can't expect to dominate here like you did on CoD! NOOB!"

I listened, asked questions and tried to improve the hard way... by getting in the action and taking part. Instead, I've only succeeded in beating my head against the wall.

Having played so much lately, 6-8 hours at a stretch during the holidays (I know, I know... no comments necessary), I've seen some things most ordinary casual players might not have seen... The massive amount of cheating that goes on. I have seen lots of speed hackers (guys running around at hypersonic speeds), hordes of people getting shot by unseen opponents. Or the worst, and hardest to determine is the hyper-accurate shooting by non-inf class at distance and up close. Guys who hit with every round.

I know the difference between good play and obscene play and while some of the hacks are really obvious, some are really subtle and harder to spot especially in a game where so many participate at a time. Not so hard for veterans of other FPS games where such things have occured in the past. Not to mention knowledge of how a physics engine is supposed to work.

It is my personal opinion, that aimbots especially are far more common than anyone might admit.

I know I should have expected this, no game is really immune from hacking, but seeing it this prolific is really disturbing and has sucked the fun right out of the game...

...and I don't see Planetside2 staff or Sony able to do much about it. Continually letting the ban-hammer down isn't gonna stop the hackers. It's just too easy. Just go to you-tube fer crying out loud.

I had such high hopes for PS2.

A few things.....

1.) on hacker forums there is a huge complaint on how often the hacks have to be updated because SOE keeps changing parts of the script

2.) in the last week of playing (i average about 3-4 hours a day) i have seen 1 speed hacker and one aim bot (who was promptly TK'd several times)

i honestly have noticed it a decrease in hacking lately compared to other shooters. You can never make a game hack free just make it more difficult for them to operate.

I'm still not seeing a bucket load of obvious hackers on Briggs.
I have noticed that one or two I have seen are getting harder to report with the creative names they are using.
But a screen shot of the death cam and an msg to CS has had good results.
My only concern would be what looks like the ease in which they can return with a new account.
But I am sure they will have that sorted soon enough with the great mutato on the job.

And dont confuse the T9 users with aimbots ;)

I see maybe one hacker a week now on Connery. I would say that whatever SOE is doing appears to be working.
