View Full Version : Defending bases - easy step to make people defend

I saw a lot of complains in this forum that bases are not being defended due to unclear benefits of doing so. I agree with that but I found a cheap way to make people defend the base.

1. Upgrade your Flash bike to Scout radar 75 or 100 meters
2. When at the base always spawn Flash and drive around the base looking for maximum amount of enemies found by the radar
3. Park the Flash where it wont be destroyed by enemy and go fighting

The trick here that defenders suddenly see minimap full of red splashes and know where they can farm maximum kills and they will rush there to farm kills.

This way yesterday I manage to attract base defenders to elliminate enemies swarms of around 100+ people that otherwise are not visible to the defenders on the radar.

Easy and very cheap way. The only problem is that you yourself do not get any points for doing so except that you know where to grind kills :)

I hope more people will do that because I was ALONE doing that yesterday. At least on the bases I was defending.

This sounds like a good idea, but how the heck would you hide a Flash for long periods of time? Also it'd only last 5 minutes until it despawned, and then you'd have to park a new one. Still, could imagine it being useful on capture points if there was a good place to hide it.....

Suitepee,

Good question :) To renew the timer you just need to enter and exit the vehicle. So, every 4 minutes you need to go back to your Flash to renew the timer to another 5 minutes.
This is what I was doing all the time and it was not difficult because my Flash was alway near the enemy swarm and I was there killing enemies :)

Also hiding the Flash is very easy. In case of base defending just park it next to the wall behind which you have an enemy swarm :)
If you cannot find such place just drive it inside the building or behind some obstacle. You would be surprised how ignorant enemies towards empty Flashes. They do not destroy them.

I always destroy Flashes because every enemy Flash might be a 200 meters in diameter Scout Radar. Brrrrrr, scary.....

It's only a sticking plaster but good idea nontheless :)

Isn't exactly a new thing. They actually nerfed the Flash radar range since Beta.

Idea is old but people do not really use it according to my experience. I barely see people on Flashes at all let alone on Flashes with Scout Radar :)

Well at the tech plant you can just ride it up to the capture point, they can put sundys up there, why not a buggy. Its a good Idea, I think I might try it If I ever pllay again.

I was watching Luperza play planetside 2 on her twitch stream late last night so I asked her if they were going to make bases more defensible. She said that the level designers were making a lot of changes to bases. Now shes pretty good at dodging specifics but this is what she talked about when I posed the question.

Yeah I honestly think you'll see this game revisited with much fervor from the devs now that they have gotten a nice break in over the holidays. I was talking with one of them yesterday and he told he hadn't had taken any vacation time in 1.5 years. They are passionate about the game that is for sure but are humans like the rest of us (well most of us) and needed that break. Now let them get caught up on the mountain of feedback they missed and we'll see what happens in the near future.

Cool idea, but it seems like even if I park a vehicle in an abandoned base someone kills it.

Oh...that was your vehicle? I'm sorry... Serious note, I have a habit of deconstructing my vehicles if I know I'll be in an area for a while, or if I get killed out of it and spawn far away. No free xp for any enemy players...
