I'm sure it's probably come up before, but what does everyone think about a class (probably engineer) having the option to cert into a mobile shield generator that creates a non-repairable shield with limited HP about the size of a doorway, much like a turret without the gun?
I was thinking something like that might allow defenders to have some chance to slow and corral attackers. Perhaps even to wall off/push out from spawn rooms. (Provided of course bases don't end up with doors and better defensive options anyway.)
Naturally there are certainly potential abuses to be had, so solutions to things like being spammed or improperly placed or attackers using it to wall off spawn points would need to be addressed.
Some of the various options could be:
-Can only be deployed on territory your faction owns
-Slowly loses health over time
-Requires the player deploying it to stay put "operating" it
-Deployment radius restrictions, much like Sunderers
-Can walk, but not shoot through it
-Can shoot through it, but not walk through it
-Can be hacked or disabled by infiltrators/engineers
