Why TR do not have their faction trait of the highest ROF.
"TR High ROF Weapons are not in the game yet." - TR, you want your fastest ROF weapons? You will be paying $7 each for them.
"It is intentional"
Wait, what?
Here is the FNO link. www.twitch.tv/planetside2/b/354087896?t=2h11m57s
Another question was about homogenization here: www.twitch.tv/planetside2/b/354087896?t=2h18m50s
It is just really sad that TR are kind of getting screwed here since the VS/NC share our high ROF trait...
They want factions to keep their traits... Okay... Where are the TR weapon traits? VS have their accuracy and no bullet drop, etc. NC have their hard hitting 200dmg weapons with lower ROF... Even the VS/NC have the fastest firing carbine and we get one TRV that is the fastest assault rifle by 45 ROF.. All others are the same ROF as TR.. Oh yeah, we have the repeater pistol...
Here is an image of the weapon stats sorted by highest rate of fire.

So, how do you fix this? You have several weapons with the faction traits and they stay true to that. If they have weapons that go into another factions territory, make it a common pool Nanite Systems (NS) weapon.
This post isn't really about whining about TR or saying nerf or buff weapons. It is about specific faction traits that seem to be common in NC/VS weapons with the TR not having anything unique. It is not about the amount of guns the NC/VS have with a higher ROF or equal, it is about the only real unique thing is that our carbines and assault rifles have 10 extra rounds... That right now is our only unique trait. I made a post on reddit and the PS2 forums but it seems to be full of people who could care less about the archetypes.

SMH, the more and more i see. The more i think this game is nothing more than a cash grab. The NC complains about being under powered, they basically clone TR weapons and sell them for 7 dollars.
Its not like the NC have a unique trait either. Its just we kill one bullet quicker, that is not stopping power when you loose 25% rof.

I think that Jimmy may have interpreted the question differently than it was meant. The reason I say so is because he mentions SMGs and Machine Pistols which are all high RoF weapons. I think he thought your question was generally about why those high RoF weapons are not in game. :)
Generally the traits are as follows:
TR - Fast RoF, high accuracy, lots of bullets, lower damage per bullet
NC - Lower RoF, less bullets, more damage per bullet
VS - No bullet drop, energized weapon styles which depending on the weapon will generally be - Medium RoF, faster damage degradation, faster reload times
Edit: Note, that "generally" means that this is most often the case, but this is not a golden rule we have to follow. Weapons will vary. The major thing is that the TTK for each weapon type is similar and players are having fun using the weapons. We want there to be a variety of weapons for a player to choose from no matter what their faction. Also, keep in mind what attachments do for your weapons. =]
So, since one of the traits of TR is fast ROF, we will never truly be unique and that "lots of bullets" really only applies to carbines and assault rifles at a value of 10 more. Again, this is about being unique and right now, 10 extra bullets on 2 gun classes doesn't really make TR unique.
I wanted to post this here to get opinions from you guys. This topic again is not about balance and about the overall issue of archetypes.

excuse me how i laugh. TTK should be the same for all weapons. Please check your math SOE its not.
Besides that bs, its a statement of the game. The game is basically a borderline joke, its an BF3 clone with 2000 players per map. Its missing so many key elements, so how is this a surprise to anyone.

.
Not necessarily.
Some will be better at range and some close up. As well as applying to different weapons it could also apply to different empires.

People really need to understand "no bullet drop" is not an advantage. I would love to see more variation between factions but there's a massive problem right now with weapon design. That problem is there is only two features that matter in your standard weapons, RoF and magazine size.
That's it, they're the only two things that matter. CoF is near identical across all factions, and recoil on weapons is incredibly easy to control. Guns are, simply put, too easy to use. There is no high skill high reward weapons in this game. ADS broke the skill feature of FPS games, and until it's removed we'll always have training wheel shooters that take little skill to master.
If any faction has the advantage currently it is the TR, simply because you get more rounds. A 30 round carbine at 845 RPM goes through it's entire ammo pool incredibly quickly. So quickly that reload times would have to be reduced substantially to make up for the 33% less rounds per magazine. Having extra rounds right now is the best faction bonus you can have. ONLY because the weapons are all so similar.

You must play vanu :) silly, saying the TR has the advantage. I'll admit we have nice ARs and LMGs, but they are certainly not overpowered. Our carbines suck and recoil like nobody's business.

I have both VS and TR, however I do play VS more. I didn't say the weapons are overpowered, they're just better. TR weapons have an easily measurable advantage in actual gameplay than any of the other factions. This is completely due to having more rounds available without having to reload.

I also find it amusing that TR's other advantage is supposed to be speed yet the magrider has a jet boost on it and the prowler clamps down and stops.

I get that. I just think it's a hardly measurable advantage :) in a 1 on 1 fight the person with the best performing weapon will win. More ammo just means you can take out more enemies; it won't effect the speed at which you kill.
