Hello, I am wondering what I can do with the options, and/or if there is any other tweaks that I should follow to optimize the game to run as fast as it can, while still keeping a reasonable amount of graphic quality..

First my PC specs are:

Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Core 2 quad Q8200, (quad core, 2.69ghz)
Nvidia GTS 450 (overclocked model by EVGA)
ASUS P5K motherboard
4gb DDR2 ram.

Most other games I can run on highest quality, although I can understand why this one takes so much power. But I am hoping that maybe people might know some outside tweaks that I haven't done.

So far I have set physX to CPU, and have unparked my CPU.

I have not done anything with the INI file yet.

I am also wondering what the options exactly entail in the game? Which options effect performance for what. Because I think I am bottle necked at my GPU, because it's core is always at 100% usage, while the CPU is no more then 50-60% used..

If there is a way to transfer more workload to the CPU I am all ears! lol..

Thanks!

I'm not particularly knowledgable about this but to provide more info to those who are ...

Press alt+f
Go to a quite part of a world note your FPS and whether the text after it says [CPU] or [GPU].

Go to the a very busy area and repeat.
Then reply here with the results.

Also, what graphics quality are you getting.

NB: other games are often referenced by people but the limiting factor on clients in PS is often the number of objects they need to track which is much greater than in BF.

NBB giveing my rig as an example.
i7 2600k at 3.4 GHz
8 Gb ram
GTX 560Ti 1Gb
W7 64

I've made no under the bonnet changes

I run all my graphics on high except for shadow quality which is medium. I get acceptable FPS, ie 80-100+ in very quiet areas and 30-40 in very busy areas.

Give this thread a read and try out the settings changes he recommends. Worked great for me.

See this thread (http://www.planetside-universe.com/showthread.php?t=52189).
In a nutshell, your biggest problem is probably your RAM.
