View Full Version : Paintball Guns...
Ok, well my teenage cousins usually challenge me to anything and i beat them in just about everything. Basketball, baseball (other sports) online computer games, fourwheeling, etc. Well i think they are gonna beat me in one thing if i don't learn about Paintball.
They say they have great guns and know everything about how they are built and everything. I am lost, i dunno a thing about a paint ball gun so can you guys help tell me whats good to get what i should put in it, what to build it with, etc. Or a website on them would be great. Oh and are really good ones bought or built. If built id rather learn cuz we are seeing whos are the most powerful rather then playing a paintball game.

I've got a 99 autococker that's totally pimped. If I were you, I'd buy a tippman 98 custom - cheap, reliable, sturdy, and can be upgraded to anythin.g

I used to have an Autochopper. I thought about getting a twister but mags are more reliable.
If you just want a cheap gun that is reliable get a Spider and put one of Dave Youngbloods barrels. Preferably a 12 inch.
Yes, Tippmann's are very reliable, either buy the 98 custom or invest a little more an get the Tippmann A5. Most expensive guns tend to be a bit fragile, but the Tippmann's are THE MOST sturdy gun out there. Get an A5 and a boomstick barrel for like $350-400 bucks and you are set for a while.

You've never played right? Don't spend more than 130 for a marker, you might hate it.

Broomsticks are nice, but overpriced. I just like the powerlyte better.
Halos also are bigger, but they feed around 22 balls a second while the revies feed 12 balls a second. Also, revies have a habit of shells breaking off at the neck so they have their problems too, and I would take a Halo over it anyday.

You'll wanna quit after I light your ass up. You'll be limping off the field.
BTW, I've been known to crank it up to 310 FPS. ;)

You think I can afford that?
If that was true I would give a grand to PSU :P

big deal, 310's nothing. Field limits are 300. I've seen these things cranked up so high they pull the skin right off of hands. Not cool.

Yeah, the point of a paintball gun is too fire as many shots per second as possible, not trying to shoot them fast.

Just get a real gun and go up north an hunt Canadians. They are in season january though may so plan your trip now. Avoid the ones in red jackets, they shot back.

I've got a black Spyder TL Plus. My dad and brother also paintball. So far it's stock, but we have purchased one 18" DYE Boomstick for 'testing'.
Ph33r me, Tippmans!
On my last game (I play Renegade out there in the forest):
It was the third round (we usually only get to three), me, my dad (he's quite a bit fat, so he's a target, but he knows how to use guns), and my brother patrolled together. My brother stayed behind, remembering how me and him got OWNED (I was hit at least five times) the last round.
Me and my dad witnessed some poor fu..nk from the other team run across a trail. My dad was a bit ahead. We were in a bush. That guy came running and we owned that guy. Seldom have I seen such ownage.
After a few minutes, a guy in another bush got my dad as we were advancing. He never counted on me backing him up. I got him.
I walked ahead a bit more, alone this time. (My brother was WAY back). I noticed an enemy in the bush. His barrel was red, making it easier to see. Poor guy. I shot him through a bush, which is a miracle considering the ballistics of a paintball.
Therefore I am seriously considering painting my Boomstick flat black.
Eventually I met the best of the other team: We call him Rudy. He's got a Tippmann 98 Custom with a Flatline, automatic loader, and response trigger. I snuck up on him. As my shots came down, he ran for cover, but saw me. I ducked behind a tree stump. He fired at me, but the balls hit the tree. I rose up and fired a few times, owning him and ending the round.
Kills: 3.

ive been playing for 5 years or so, and the price has gone down alot. But i find field play to restrictive, so me and around a dozen firends/aquinteces who all own guns and just go and play at a public park (its legal at least in missouri)
Is auto hoppers worth it? Only 1 guy i know has one, and I dont notice a difference from my gravity fed one.

muahahah we got something better over here ;)
It's called Delerium Tagball
modified paintball guns to accept rubber bullets :D I played a game a week ago. It was a 4 hour special all night long 30 people in the maze. They cranked up the guns cause of the majority of the people were over 18.... my friend got one of those balls on teh! balls he said it still hurt yesterday
my tip: goto ottawa and pay the 30$ for the 2 hour game its worth it :D

Spyder's are pretty good - just make sure you know what you're doing when you break it down.
