Did not see this one coming but some sweet changes.

Players may note the following changes:

Alpha Squad boosts were regranted with full six months and extra bonus to resources and experience. All Alpha Squad players must re-equip the new boost.
Depot โ€“ New Mana Anti-Vehicle Turret available for purchase.
Light Assault โ€“ Fixed a bug where jump jet cert progression would not properly
Invulnerability for revived players has been removed
Effect added to help indicate temporary invulnerability on respawn
Membership status window should correctly display loyalty level
Missiles locked on to the vehicle in flight will again provide audio/visual indicators
Fixing descriptions of the Mosquito M14 Banshee magazine certs

Also I wonder if MANA AV can be switched to an ammobox. Logical step would be to make it not switch. (For balancing reasons...

I like the fact they have put this out as soon as its ready, they could have easily waited til the end of the week.

eh?

I assume this means that just-spawned players with invulnerability now have some glow/pulsing/something visual effect so you know shooting them will have on effect.

I've not tried it but the description in game seems to suggest it can be switched

Wait so for $39.99 USD you didn't want to buy it because of the boost?

So the 4,000 SC (40 USD Value)
12 Guns Unlocked (4 guns per faction. I am not sure on what SC value that would add up too.)
Decals, Camo's I'm sure I'm missing something else, wasn't worth it?

When they say AV turrets I'm sure they also mean ANTI MAX turret too!

oh man the turret is a winner, so bad ass! free trialed it and took out a sundy with 4 shots and max with 2, guided missles should replace all lock ons, brings the skill back and tons of fun to use.

I agree when attacking ground vehicles. But when attaching air, there's no way you'll hit an ESF without lock-on, MAYBE if the missile were REALLY fast.

Unless you did guided for ground, and maintain lock for air.

Well...really you'd want to push patches early in the week, so if it breaks something you can get it working by the weekend, when most people play.

No, it wasn't. They recently made it so that the last few months would be a 50% boost, in case you weren't aware. I was rather pissed at both of these changes too, because no, it wasn't worth it in the beginning, at least to me.

4,000 SC is only worth 40 USD when you don't use a 2x or 3x SC day, I bought all the SC I needed on the triple SC day. (I used 3x day + walmart bonus card... which got me the equivalent of 4k for 10 USD)

4 guns unlocked for my faction, of which I really only use 1 of... since I rarely play any other faction (my primary outfit is single faction only) and some of the weapons don't really fit my playstyle.

Decals and Camo's... bleh... the camo's are obnoxious and don't camouflage anything (make you stand out even more) and decals are barely visible.

The 10% xp/resource was a nice thing... but with boosts able to do 50%....

I actually considered not buying it...



That said, I bought it.... I wanted to support the game and make sure SOE was rewarded in bringing the sequel to the game that ruined all other FPSs for me. (Money is not a worry for me... playing time is... so XP boost helps me feel like i'm able to keep up with all those gamers out there with so much time on their hands.)

What's nice about the Alpha boost is that they reset it to full 6 months again (starting from when you equip it)

Getting the Alpha Squad bonus back is pretty awesome :thumbsup:, I had totally written off ever getting that one back, let alone having it be 50%.

Anyone else having the problem that recharging depleted shields or jump jets take waaaay longer then intended? I counted 20 seconds on some occasions...

The AV Turret is pretty awesome. I smell a nerf creeping in ;)

Maybe he was already in Beta. Most bought it for Beta access or Name reservation. Since the boost did suck, and we didn't even know for sure what 12 weapons it would be. And the camo's/decals also suck. At least now the Boost is nice enough it feels like it was money well spent.


As for this patch thank god for revive invulnerability being removed. I still want Sundy invuln removed too though. Just so annoying to come across an enemy Sundy an be helpless if you have no C4. Cant even engage the spawners as they can just eat your bullets while setting up their shot on you.

Maybe do what you're supposed to do (and what everyone does that can't deal with a Sunderer due to their loadout): tell people it's there so someone can deal with it and/or go get some stuff to deal with it yourself.

Farming the people spawning there only to get shot after a few dozen kills =/= helping.

Everyone just remember to not unequip the Alpha Squad boost because if you do you will probably lose it forever like I previously did.

Can anyone give some details? Can you buy it through Certs or only SC? How much does it cost? What does it do? Fire a rocket like the HA Standard AV Launcher? What is the fire-rate? Endless Ammo like the normal Turret?

I'm kind of hyped... sadly I probably won't get to play until tomorrow :-(

I believe both, I think you get it just like any other weapon.

I think the cost is the top tier (1000 certs/700 SC).

It's more like some of the rocket secondaries on tanks than the AV launcher, except you can guide the rocket where you want it to go (it follows where you aim).

I think i've seen it said that it's one shot every 6 seconds or something, down to 4.5 seconds with certs.

Endless Ammo like the normal Turret?

Yah, it works on an overheat system like the normal turret, just that one shot overheats the entire thing in one go.
