Mines need to be changed how they are deployed because currently you can drop them in mid air and off the side of buildings and other objects. They need to implement them exactly how it was in ps1 by making it so you have to be touching the ground to be able to deploy them.

I've read many other forum posts on the main ps2 forums and ppl are finding some retarded ways to exploit the nature of them right now such as dropping out of aircraft 500m up and dropping them while falling and then dropping a c4 and insta gibbing sundies.

Please fix this devs.

Yea, I really don't get why you need to deploy an ammo pack on the ground but not a landmine...

Throwing C4 is fine, but not mines. And they need to be placed, then armed; say right mouse to place them, and left mouse to arm them.

We need a giggle emote for new players shooting said mine while they learn to use them. Explosive Guffaws will abound.

Mines are fine.

It takes 7 mines to kill a Sunderer with mine guard.

Why is a Sunderer that isn't moving needing Mine Guard?

Why is a Sunderer that isn't moving needing Mine Guard?

Because it becomes the primary target once it rolls into an area.

What is the biggest threat to the Sunderer? Mines. How can you completely negate that threat? Mine guard.

Then they aren't mines. So why are we still calling them mines?

Mines are an ambush attrition weapon, not something you toss under a bus to see fireworks.

Why can't mines be something you toss under a bus to see fire works?

If you don't want fireworks, mine guard.

Because that isn't how mines work.

Go toss a mine under a bus right now, be sure to arm it first. You won't even have the chance to run away from it.

By all rights, anyone 'mine bombing' should be guaranteed to die.

Nanites, bro, nanites.

We're talking about a video game here.

Just cert mine guard. Maybe leave someone behind to defend the bus. If it should die, that's unfortunate for sure but...you know...cycle of life.

Lol you're obviously scared about your noob tactics getting nerfed to shit. That's why you are defending throwing mines under non moving targets like your xp grind depends on it.

The thread isn't about killing strictly sundies though so don't throw the thread off topic its about how the mines are placed in game, which is essentially flawed. Which is why people are using them like they are C4.

Thats my bus your talking about, bro. Its mine guarded and defended by me to the death.

If it should die, it is unfortunate but its usually a tank or lib or a group of HAs... not by some cheap exploit.

You need to calm down fella.

Mines aren't an exploit. I'm glad to know that you play smart. For real. Kudos.

Mines should work like ammo packs, i.e. placed on the ground instead of "dropped".

Currently they are used like C4, that's silly.

Oh, Im quiet calm.... circle of life... pfft.

Okay, not a exploit... I'll accept that. But no jhadi engineer is getting past me and my M12 Kobalt :)

The calm down fella was directed to the guy claiming I was afraid that something would happen in a virtual world.

What I want to know is how come every time I slap a brick of C4 to a vehicle and detonate it, it does no damage to the vehicle? I haven't gotten a kill with C4 since the last patch... I have no idea what changed or if other people have experienced this.

Mines should be used defensively, C4 should be used offensively. You should only be able to place mines on the ground.

I wish the dev's would release a description on PS2 version of Tank Mines: If they said that Tank Mines works This way, it would stfu on all these tank mine threads.

This is how people who complain about Tank Mines want it to work:
- Cannot detonate unless ran over.

-- By this logic, friendly tanks, of the TR and NC faction, will get blown up by friendly tank mines. Due to the fact that running over tank mines detonates them.
-- Magriders will not detonate tank mines as they don't touch the ground.

This is the how PS2 Tank Mines work (Just to let you know, I have tested this in game):
- They detonate when in proximity on an ENEMY tank (Not friendly), touching the ground or not. (This is how Magriders detonates tank mines.)
- They have a 2 second arm time.

Let me hear someone complain that it isn't called "Proximity Tank Mines."

I do feel for Sundy people, I hate the fact that most sunderers are "forced" to go mine guard because they don't know how to place sundies very well and they never defend their sunderer, I wish these people would treat their sunderer like their child instead of saying, "Eh, my 5 year old son will be fine playing in the busy streets. Lets go party!"

I also did not like the fact that engies only has to do Rank 1 Cert into tanks mines to 1 shot sundies. I think they should change that. Engies should have to cert Rank 2 in to tank mines and when they deploy 3 tank mines, it should take the sundy to critical and give the sundy person 15sec to repair it before blowing up from fire, so its not insta-kill.

15 sec is plenty of time to DEFEND your sundy unless your that father I explained above.

:D
