I'm proposing that they change HA shield to be effective against infantry weapons only or alternately take away their lock on capability.

Here's my argument; with a lock on weapon capable of bringing down air/ground vehicles, a tiny rendering footprint and a damage shield they are way too OP for basically a setup that costs no resources and has no cool down.

With the exception of the ESF air vehicle (which is fragile, requires skill, and has cost and cooldwon) they are the only single player unit in the entire game that can effectively destroy every other unit in the game using a weapon (as opposed to mines/C4 that require far more cQc and skill to use).

It seems there is a disproportionate number of players choosing the HA class for this exact reason and I know from our outfit there is a big push to recruit/certify into HA w/lock on weapons.

Allowing this one class to be so effective in a specific build will take away the greatest quality of this game = the variety of classes, weapons, and vehicles that can played.

Let me know your thoughts.

I'm not convinced the HA shield isn't bugged actually. Most of the time it seems to do zero to extend my lifespan. I'll be checking out the resist shield to see if that is any better.

No.

The HA is designed to take fire and shoot back - thats what many players enjoy. Its supposed to be the backbone of the infantry by design.
They trade off all their ability for special tactics and utility to be tough and able to deal damage.

If you think it works better than the class you are playing then maybe you are playing the wrong class.

I personally almost never play it. HA are really hard to kill head to head - but the reason im playing other classes is so I dont have to take thm on head to head all the time.

Agreed, I rarely play HA because I prefer the versatility of an engineer, the much better damage avoidance of an infiltrator (hard to shoot what you can't see), the health regeneration of the medic, or the base penetration power of the LA.

I pull HA basically when I need to shoot at a vehicle or aircraft, sometimes when I need to just fill the air with a wall of lead for suppression power.
