Didn't SOE hire RivalXfactor to review every single weapon in the game?
Haven't seen him doing PS2 video's for months, not sure what happened here.
Personally, I don't care too much for these video's as there are already tons of decent weapons reviews out there. However, for new/casual players, official video's on the weapons can be a nice thing.

I'd love to see more from the series. Easily accessible official videos could dispel some myths and educate the average player base.
They've been doing a lot of balancing though so maybe they just don't want to throw outdated videos around.

Never heard anything about him leaving the game. Anyway, I tweeted him for some comment.
If he did leave the game, that shouldn't stop the devs from quitting the "Depot" series. Instead they should hire a replacement as well as adding dev commentaries to these reviews that have the devs explain the intended role of each weapon. These are not only useful for new players but also a great way to sell their toys.

Even if this isn't the actual reason, i'd say it's a pretty logical one. Considering there's a few balance passes coming up on all infantry weapons in the next few months, holding off on info videos is probably the best course of action.
