Any news if they are ever going to fix it?
After like half a year i don't know wether i should laugh or cry that it's still not working most of the time.
...alternatively i would be also happy with /re being ditched in favor of a better faction communication system.

never heard a word back from the dev team. i tweeted them and they said they where going to look into it. that was over a month ago. this has been brought up by me and many other players numerous since beta and still nothing. you think this would have been fixed by now as it the only way to talk to your faction and enable you to either organize things or give out warning about enemy positions with the enemy knowing.
i think for a game about team work this should be fixed asap as team work is very hard to achieve if you cant communicate properly with them.
SOE get is sorted.

I'm sure they will fix it. Haven't heard anything specific but usually these sorts of things just get slowly weeded out in hotfixes.

To me the issue is that you don't know who's going to hear it. :/ I miss /b.

Only works when there's barely anyone around.

Why do I get the feeling this is getting pushed to the back burner because they want to make it part of the certification tree under the squad leader section.

making it squad leader only to talk to your faction is a very bad idea. all troops need to be able to communicate as everyone sees different things. atm /RE is the only way this could happen. i play solo a good part of the time due to a lot of my outfit members work and i work funny hours also so we arnt on at the same time atm. if i am sniping and see enemy inc then set up in a covert place i cant tell anyone as /re is fubar. /yell lets them know we are coming and they prepare accordingly.
you need a system where the single player who is not in an outfit/group can communicate with the faction. if they do not put this in the game it a very stupid decision and not a very sound or tactical one. every man on the battlefield needs to be able to communicate covertly with his team no matter what his position in the war.

Speaking of talking to my faction, I frequently get annoyed I can't send reports to commanders or ask for backup when I'm for instance playing alone.
So many commanders aren't in a position to help guide the empire now due to not leading a squad, not being informed of what's going on (who passes on all leader chat information to their squad? Nobody. Didn't have to with /c in PS1, had several keeping track of it due to having several CR5s).

Agreed, even the addition of /sitrep would be helpful.
