So, the last two nights, I finally figured out, for now the class I most enjoy. "Heavy Assault". Lovvin it!

However, the last two nights I've killed... no one. Ran with the squad/platoon, heck we had a nice little group moving around Indra last night. Jumping from one undefended point to another. I even got shot down over a facility, Called it out over the mic, the platoon leader said "Oh, there's TR there? We'll go to the other place then" and changed the waypoint.

Warhammer online suffered from this too. Why fight when you can "PvE" for reward. I hope the last two nights were just unlucky "join squad" moments, otherwise I'll be quite sad.

If you call no joy with that, try lone-wolfing or roll with some zerg. The whole idea of this game is to fight, not run around and ghost cap.... Its sad there are squads that want to do that.

When I want to kill all things, I lone wolf. When I want to be a part of the solution, I squad up. But for God's sake don't follow the PVE-ers.

As for an outfit, I'mma give this server a week, decide if it's home then go lookin if it ain't. I like kickin ass and takin names. Got no problem with the occassional "opportunity" claim but when you avoid battle, you piss me off.

Hmmmm... sounds like a potential problem. Maybe we could suggest a fix... OH we have over and over and over and warned about this in Beta.

FFS when will we get dynamic XP on base caps? No XP for killing gens, no XP for undefended bases.

If there is no xp reward for capping undefended bases... then which mother Teresa fucker is ever going to bother sitting around for 10-15mins capping strategically important bases? Oh wait... There are no strategically important bases!

The problem isn't so much the free xp for undefended bases or the pve mentality IMO, it's the fact that rushing to resecure outposts and bases that are under attack is so unrewarding on every level!

This, there is plenty of outfits out there willing to move to the fight rather than run from it.

MrV, what you experienced is a consequence of static base capture XP reward. Why go somewhere and actually fight people when you can get the most XP per hour by backcapping facilities or running/flying into the next facility moments away from capture?

Remember in PS1, you got rewarded XP for base captures based upon how much combat occurred in the SOI while you were there. PS2 badly needs this. I proposed it in the thread in my signature, and it got a lot of support, and in the last major game update the devs did implement dynamic kill XP, so I'm hopeful that capture XP is not too far away.

That or don't join a public squad and read the map instead. Not sure about your server, but on Connery the battle movements are pretty much exactly the same every single day. Very predictable, so it's easy to find a fight.

yeah, this. it'll teach dem pussies to fight and actually play the game. seriously, they are getting XP to get certs, and they use those certs to get weapons and attachments and stuff, and yet they don't use them anyway because they are too scared to fight? LOL

This is why I often defend empty outposts. Is it sad that I have actually "won" and caused 4 or 5 "ghost cappers" to run away a few times? I mean, look at my KDR and accuracy - I'm not a very good shot, like at all! I am smart, sneaky, and observant though.

You have to wonder if they said to each other, "oh this place is being defended. let's go somewhere else"...

I came to the PS2 party late, no excuse but life (it's a bitch) and I'll be damned if I play PVE in this game. Yes, an outfit would help... I'm just not sure will it be TR or NC? A week of each and then I will settle in. This, btw is what happens when you get older, you get patient. Kinda sucks.

Join a VS outfit on Connery. They need more people and I need more people to shoot at / blow up. :)
