Why so Sirius? (new Vanu SMG)

Not gonna lie, when I loaded up the page I thought the thumbnail picture for the video was of a bunch of fish. :doh:

Also, yay SMGs. Already have the Eridani for my CQC needs, but I might check out the new TR one.

Thing is, the Sirius has 100 more shots than the Eridani and fires faster. I know the Eridani bullets do more damage but I can't say that having 100 bullets more with double the mag size is balanced.

So basically Infiltrators have Carbines now. Also there is no reason to use ADS on it as the accuracy is the same as hipfire.

Can't say much about balance, but personally i'd rather have the Eridani than the Sirius for the simple fact that I generally suck (more than normal) with fast firing, low damage weapons. :p I take ammo belt with my LA anyway, so total ammo carried isn't so much of an issue.

I trialed the BC Blitz with my inf this afternoon.

It seemed reasonably lethal but it hard to judge off of just 6 or so kills.

It seems less accurate from the hip than the cyclone base on wall tests and it seems like it has more barrel climb(but with out knowing damage etc its hard to tell how the climb/dps really compares.)

ADS it seems to be as easy to use as the Cyclone in close range.

I thought the back half of a Giger Alien was painted purple and glued to it, but after a quick examination it turned out to be a cup holder just as you thought.

You are most certainly not alone in that respect, they also look like an eye-gouging accident waiting to happen:p

Unfortunately there is always some poor schmuck that thinks he can tame the beast, this time with swanky purple lycra uniforms, so at least they make stylish corpses.

They've had fully automatic scout rifles since launch anyway. These are more like the answer to the loss of shotguns.

The newest SMGs are bugged. I've seen it mentioned in patch notes elsewhere that it is a known issue.
