Esamir, for sure. I can usually find other teammates running around, regardless of how many, and fight in a small squad that is incredibly fun. I like the ability to move around the map with ground vehicles and infantry much easier than Indar and Esamir, and the smaller scale battles of 1v1 to 8v8 is really charming and completely my favorite style of gameplay.

Plus, I love the snow. It's ironic, because all of my classes, weapons, and vehicles are all covered with Sandy Scrub v2 camo despite always being reluctant to fight on Indar, only going there to fight with my outfit/squad or when I can't find a decent fight on Esamir or Amerish.

Per the topic. I think I already know the answer but in addition to voting, say why you play on the continent the most.

For me it's Indar because the other two continents end up being zergfests that the Empires just rotate back and forth all day with no real fights.

Yep, Indar for me. Not because I enjoy it more, but for the same reason you stated. No one defend Esamir or Amerish, so they're just an offensive zerg capturing empty bases. Not fun either way.

Also VS on Waterson averaged ~26% population over the weekend, so it's not like we have much choice. Either we take an empty continent or we get zerged on Indar :P Either way, it's getting pretty lame to be so horribly outnumbered day after day.

Id LOVE to play on other conts. but as Hamma said, Waterson doesn't like Esamir or Amerish for some reason. It's ALWAYS 60+% mass of one faction against maybe 10% or less of the others. What hurts more is that it only takes under a platoon to just about flip those numbers. So that means those conts are ghost towns. Id bet that the Crown has more people on its 3 hexes at a given time than there are on the entire of Esamir or Amerish, maybe combined in off hours.

Can't wait for mergers. Maybe then fights will happen that warrant the focus of the bigger outifts. Till then it's all about where the fight is, and that's Indar for some shit reason.

i've been playing for only a month and a half. VS on Connery. 100% the time one faction has the other 2 continents ghost capped or are ghost capping them. All the fighting is actually on Indar. I can only talk for the time of day i play but that's my experience. I did see Amerish on the day i logged in but noone was there. Even on the popular contnent, Indar, VS average 17-24% the population so I dont have a choice if i actually want to HELP and fight lol. They need me ; P

1 Empire 1 server 1 continent Indar, prefer being in a warn desert environment. I bought camo for other enviros but I'm happy with Indar, even on the rear occasion that I'm transferred to Amerish on login I will go straight to warp consol and join queue for Indar.

tbh i play on them all. where ever the fight is or im needed. when im online it could be any of the continents. all depends on where my faction is. i cant say im on one more then the other.

I play on Indar 98% of the time. Reason because of the many outpost. Some people feel that Indar has to many hexes but this is exactly why I like Indar. And this is exactly the reason why Indar is so hard to lock.
The empire with the majority population will take over Esamir and Amerish and their fewer hexes in less then an hour almost 100% of the time. This is very hard to do on Indar.

I've only played the game for a few weeks now, but I have yet to actually fight on Esamir or Amerish. I've flown around on them and blown up turrets and stuff when I was getting the hang of the Mosquito, and they look cool, but there's hardly anyone on those continents ever -- at least on SolTech.

It's too bad, because I'd like a real changeup from Indar (and on Indar, 90% of the time it's a pretty predictable sequence of events for TR if the Crown isn't already taken: Take Allatum, take TI Alloys, assault the Crown. Over and over and over again).

Indar. Since the only platoon+ fighting happens on Indar most nights and since I run with my outfit the only way we'll run into a good fight is running around there. We drop in on Amerish or Esamir when we see stuff going on but that's often cut short when the enemy disperses at the first sign of opposition. And generally as an outfit we don't like ghost capping.

Simply theres no motivations except different designs, sceneries and aesthetic points.

Either you keep to crown and surrounding hexes and enjoy semi balanced battle, or you get 10:1 or 1:10 odds depending if you hold crown/biolab or if enemy holds either...elsewhere you got a lot of ghost-capping, if you're into that sort of thing, and I'm not.

What can we learn out of this?

Server merges are not enough. We need mechanics to focus the battles on the maps.
Once apon a time there was a solution for this problem. They called it LATTICE......

Well, unless you consider the handful of people farting around on Amerish/Esamir, who could not even fill a Counter-Strike map, "playing" PS2...

I play all 3 conts, prime time on Miller does seem to have enough players for a proper fight on them all.
That said, when its off peak, Indar is probably where I'll be, but not always, often good action on other conts still.

Almost exclusively Indar.

Not just because of the low population elsehwere (although this is a factor now); Indar has been my favourite since the game launched.

Why?

Most varied terrain.

Larger number of outposts give more opportunities for complex strategic play (Hex system on Amerish and Esamir is a dumbed down version that has failed, IMO). Agree with this >

I play mostly on Indar. But not because I CHOOSE to , but because I'm FORCED to if I want any decent gameplay anymore... It's sad really, we are losing players on other continents and on the game in it's entirety. I explained it all here:

Voted Indar because the VS had it locked for over a month and so it was a matter of defending it so that we don't lose it.

I now play exclusively on Amerish 90% of my time online, as we lost the Indar a few days ago and I don't want to regain nor defend it anymore.

Having it for weeks on end got to the point where we wanted to keep it to see how long it will stay VS but once lost no one really shed any tears over it.

Contrary to what I heard a purple dev say on a stream recently, I play on Indar because that's where everyone else is playing, thats where I will find a decent battle.
Briggs isnt a massive active population and what we do have all needs to be on the same continent to make it worth while.

I don't play on Indar because its my favourite continent.

I like amerish and esamir more then indar but as the pop is more balanced there that's where the fight is but I avoid the crown like it was a rabid dog

I like Amerish a lot, but unless I know my outfit or others are going to Amerish I stick to Indar because Amerish is a lot of smaller squads roaming around and on Waterson I rarely see a decent TR presence. Even yesterday I was with my outfit and we were going around Amerish.. maybe had a squad and a half. We pretty much capped things with zero resistance, but people were ghost capping hexs behind us. We would go back and find maybe 1-2 people there.

So mostly stick to Indar because there are always battles to be had and squads to join even if my outfit isn't running anything.

Per the player stats page, across all three empires on three servers, 77% Indar. The stupidest part? The only reason my NC and TR have any time on other continents is I was at the crown and we were almost Warpgated so I needed to go practice flying on Esamir till I could get my resources back up.

At least on VS we were actually trying to make fights with the NC on Amerish.

I've barely played on Amerish ever, due to the fact that there's no-one on it. Which is a shame, because it looks like a nice place to play. I did used to play a lot of time on Esamir after release, but it ended up a ghost town after everyone migrated to Indar.

Sadly, for me the answer is Indar, but I really, really wish it wasn't :(

If it's any consolation, I would rather play on Esamir. As a snow loving Canadian, it feels like home! Lol... Seriously though, the game performs best there and I like the aesthetics and layout of it best. Could do without the fog though, because it makes a nice place look crappy and unless it's all melting and above 0c, fog is impossible.

Amerish is a ghosttown... Esamir has very small battles... or an outfit platoon overkilling the fight.

So when i'm solo or running with 1-2 others... it's Indar.

Only when we have a good squad or two can we try going to the other conts to defend (and rarely even then) Attacking is usually a ghostfest, so we go to defend main base and try and pick a fight.

indar. even though i like the other continents, there isn't as much massive battles, and whenever i play i go along with my outfit, which mostly fights on Indar, because there are battles and conflict occurring there (we go and aid other outfits ect, and whenever the bastards try to take over our bases). however we hardly ever go to the crown, as our leaders think it is a stupid place to fight over, for reasons already explained elsewhere (although sometimes when i just want to be alone for a quick game, the crown is where it is at ;D).

sometimes, however (rarely, though) we go and recapture the other continents, and sometimes there are some resistance there, and it is great. apart from that, we usually play on indar, and there are always massive wars on indar :D. but i just wish it is all the same for the other continents, but that will come into effect once CONTINENT LOCK is introduced.

Same as everyone else, I play on Indar. I far prefer Esamir, since I have camo for it, get better performance, prefer the fewer hexes, prefer the base design, and just generally like snowy maps/levels in games. However, big, badass fights trump that.

Play on Indar prefer Amerish. It has gotten to the point that I just log out rather then play on Indar anymore. I think part of it is that Amerish is harder to spam tanks on and all people seem to want is farming.

For me the scale is all wrong on Indar. It has lots of unique features but most of them are on too large of a scale for infantry to climb and use them effectively.
Amerish has much more usable cover and flanking paths that can't be camped by tanks.

EDIT also I hit Amerish by accident so the poll is off by one vote :)

I play on all three fairly evenly with Indar being played the least at the moment. I am lucky since on Miller there are often fights on all three continents although it is not uncommon to have huge population imbalances on Amerish and Esamir.

Hopefully, when the servers are more populated, you will see more fights on the other continents.

Used to be Indarside 2, and then the merger brought SOME fights on Esamir (I was told there was an NC outfit dedicated to Esamir from Soltech cause Indar was that bad). I enjoy the fights on Esamir WAAY more, although Andvari Bio Lab feels kinda broken (there aren't any lifts under the pad although there are arrows pointing out and in like on EVERY other bio lab).

Esamir was boring, never great fights there because you never have a tech plant and there is just too much fog.

Amerish wasn't like Amerish at all, I refuse to go there after they butchered the great Islands name from Planetside with this mess.

Indar is the only one populated anyways but the Crown ruins the map, especially as a TR because it's basically 2 v 1 and makes for very boring gameplay. All that ever happened was Vanu attack the left and NC attack the right, the TR switch their forces back and forth and never have enough players to fight both. So all you see is the left and right sides constantly being claimed and reclaimed.

That was all back from December though, I haven't played since.

Actually when playing strategically with my outfit I/we make next to no certs compared to what you can get if you just go to a biolab and fool around for half an hour. You make waaaay more certs this way then playing an evening long how the is meant to be played. Like taking and securing territory.
That's why people flock to Indar and the Crown. And unless they do something about cert gain, this is not going to stop. People go where the certs are, not where the game needs them.

That is also why people calling for a 'ghost cap' nerf are only going to make the game worse. If there is even less incentive to play anywhere outside the 1 square km of Indar, then whoever can't get to that fight for whatever reason will just quit entirely.

If I had a choice I would play on Amerish.

I play them all buy my favourite is indar. Everyone who hates indar just don't go there regardless and then people wouldnt all flock to indar. Don'tget that problem on Miller much.

I know everybody is sick of Indar and the Crown but just wait til continent locking comes out.

Tbh could go both ways and you could be locked on indar forever though lol.

To elaborate more on my play locations it's Indar all the time, Esamir occasionally and never Amerish, never anything interesting happening there. I WANT to play on Amerish.

I doubt that this will change much. Most people will still flock to Indar (as it still wont matter if Amerish or Esamir is locked) and it will only increase the amount of players playing on Indar, which will make it harder to lock it. Locking Indar during primetime is already very hard, even with people spread over the other continents (the few that actually do care).
Also not being locked out of Indar will then surely be a priority by a lot of the large outfits. Continent locking is nice, but I doubt that it will be the gamechanger many people hope it will be. At least not on it's own.
