Color gonna decide where people play?

If some one picks which empire they are buy uniform colors alone i dont think i want them fighting on my side...

Color of uniform might be a motivating factor, but it should not make or break which empire you pick.

I myselfe chose TR becacuse of its belifes, not becacuse of the color. I myselfe am milidly color blind, I can not see certain colors.

the people who buy it at BB will join NC or TR i think cause most will be teenagers who want to be rebeals without a *good* cause, or Nazis. TR and NC fill those roles. It is sad that most of these troubled teens think that purple is ghey and wont pick it, cause they are biased pricks.

Well i for one did not choose my empire because their color isn't purple. I think the Vanu Sovereignty look a lot better than NC. TR outfits are pretty good looking to but a Vanu general will be all black, TR all red meaning Vanu look way better. But i chose Vanu because they are smarter than the other empires and aren't afraid of new technology and change. They aren't trying to force people into their empire nor are they trying to overthrow the current goverment. :p

As for the average joe i'm guessing he would head for TR or try them all before picking one.

Higher the rank the more secondary color. So if you look at the empires their colors will be :

NC rookie = Blue with a bit of yellow
TR rookie = Black with a bit of red
VS rookie = Purple with a bit of black

NC general = Yellow with a bit of blue
TR general = Red with a bit of black
VS general = Black with a bit of purple

Do a little research, everyone knows its teal. If you want the explanation its because.

1.) all sides have unique colors
2.) secondary colors are supposed to be visible, to put the vets at a minor disadvantage.

All of the empires have propaganda that makes them seem the best so it has to be "look" and feel that is the deciding factor for most. I was thinking NC untill I realized at higher ranks I'd be turning yellow :no:

Purple does not bother me, I wouldn't mind being purple at night :)

A major factor for me will be the weaponry, both light and vehicular/vehicles. I kind of wanted to use conventional weapons, but the Vanu have alot going for them, on the other hand, if there weapons turn out to suck forget it... their vehicles are alright, and if the weapons suck I can always grab a common pool weapon... [shrug]

what I want to know is, do you get to pick your helmet? is it one in the same with the armor? which groups have which helmets for which sets of armor?

how you look depends on your empire, armor type and overall l337ness, i don't think you can edit it at all.

This is the Famous "teal" pick. Its an old one, the helms are different in the new non teal ones.

It was the old Vanu Medium Armor. Teal is still used for Highlights, and is promonent on our MAX suit, but not on most armor. Our Stealth suit has no teal to speak of, its purple, like an egg plant.

notice there is teal on the boots and high lights on the neck, but not a ranking color.


I believe though that its Purple and Dark Purple, not black (almost black though) that is the new colors. With Purple highlights.

On a note as helms are now removable, i believe they are redoing them as they redo the heads and faces for all the empires. Just speculation, but we all know the Vanu helms have changed (imo for the better.)

Vanu Soverignty is Purple and Teal(looks more like turqouise to me). Black is just under the armor. There are no black markings.

As far as picking Faction based on color, whats wrong with doing that? If all the factions are supposed to be balanced, then why not pick your favorite color.

BTW I can see it now, all the Factions will be wearing the Agile Exo suit or the stealth suit for night battles.

The Empire I choose will not be based on stupid things like looks and colors. My choice rests with the Empire that has the best over-all appearance and who's armors are shaded correctly. ;)

Honestly though, I'll pick an empire because: a) I like their doctrine of :evil:, b) I like their Empire specific weapons/vehicles, and c) it's not the team everyone joins.

personally i think yellow looks mad as a general colour...... but vanu do look the coolest in tht respect, no question about it in my mind.....

i think a choice of mpire shouldnt be made solely from colour, it may be a factor, but shouldnt be the whole box and dice..... personally i chose NC because of weapons/beliefs/vehicles and also because the NC stealth suit 0wn5 all the rest....
