I have 1k certs to spend, should I get the level 5 nanoweave or not?

It's my understanding that most people roll with flak as is, but that last rank of nanoweave likely isn't going to be another bullets worth of resistance. Maybe way down in the future you could dump the certs but as of now I'd say there are better things you could spend 'em on.

by no means pro
but i run shotgun/slugs with ammo belt 4, never an engineer about when you need one,

I actually run with Grenade Bandoleer.

If you are looking for an armor, Flak over Nanoweave. Your armor is the ability to fly and dodge in and out of combat, the only think you truly have to watch out for is mines.

Personally, I'd prefer utility items like extra Grenades or Ammo, which help me stay effective longer. Max out your C4 and Jump jets first. If you are dieing a ton, practice dodging fights and ducking in and out of buildings and jumpetting onto rooftops. A good LA is unkillable because the other guy can't shoot you, not because he has maxed armor. Never fight on an even footing, and never zerg. Always chose alternate routes and pick people off from the sides. Your job is to kill people and cause chaos, not to get in a stand-up fight and come out swinging. You aren't looking for a fight, you are looking for a kill.

You will find once you get into the mindset and get the skill of fight dodging, you start very quickly running out of ammo. This is why extra grenades or ammo is good.

Some stats, I have 720 kills with the Pandora (my primary LA gun, Extended Mag and IR Scope) and 200 kills with grenades (I run with 2). I run 2 C4 and level 5 jumpjets (working on 6), and 88h played as Light Assault.

I prefer grenade bandoleer as well. Flak makes less sense as you're mostly up. And the extra bullet a maxed out nanoweave armor can stop you doesn't match up to the extra havoc you can wreak from above with more grenades at your disposal.
Especially handy in combination with flash grenades and C4. The extra flash grenades will keep your enemy blind while you close the distance to throw C4 on them.

I prefer nano weave. If i had a free 1000 certs i would max out nano. That extra is often enough to save you 1 v 1 and how many times do you end up killing an enemy, only for him to kill you as well ? happens to me often and if i had that 1000 cert upgrade i would still be alive after.

I like grenade bandoleer.

3 grenades, 2 C4, and sometimes the under barrel grenade launcher. You can't get much more decked out than that.

Im not a "pro" anything - but I play LA a good deal.

I usually run with the ammo belt.
Sometimes I use adrenalin(which I like better than most people.)

If you are in an organized squad moving together I guess the nano or flack would be good. If you are playing solo away from most other friendlies the ammo is better.

Depends on the gun I use, which depends on where I'm fighting.

If i'm using my SMG I use Nanoweave max'd out. Autoshotty I use ammo belt, and Pump Shotgun I'm split between Ammo/Nanoweave.

So, depends which gun you use IMO.

2-3 levels of ammobelt if you use shotguns, otherwise flak

- I run Nano, ranked into, until the last one (4/5 or 5/6 which ever). I wouldn't suggest putting that 1k certs into the last rank, unless you truly have 1k certs to just blow and nothing better to put it in.
- Many a-times I have lived with 1-3 bars of health cause of nano. I don't generally run out of ammo, but shotgun have been getting pretty low. I am usually close enough to an eng or resupply area or just die to enemies before running out.
- I don't die much to explosion (tank, mines, or aircraft) 90% of my deaths come from inf. (especially since Libs got nerfed.)

- Was thinking about trying the boots for increase run speed, to get to flank areas quicker and to dodge better.

I use nanoweave. Would use ammo for shotgun but granade bandolier would be useless for me, i struggle to affortd 2 c4's as it is. Depends how you play and who well your team plays as to whats most usefull

Most people that run with flak are noobs. Flak only protects you from a single type of damage. More health on the other hand... 1000 certs is worth an additional 25% if you ask me.

...Is it bad that I run Shield Capacitors?

I mean, Nanoweave may increase your HEALTH bar, but Shields regenerate, so if you are skirmishing faster shield regeneration allows you to last longer.

Run circles around the enemy. Adrenaline.

I really don't like dying to invisible prox mines. I die to bullets more often, and nano would save my life more often, but dying to prox mine makes me want to drop kick my monitor out a window.

I definitely don't claim to be pro, but I personally prefer shield or ammo belt.

My playstyle with LA is extremely mobile, and I honestly found Adv. Shield to fit it better since it meant less time behind cover and more time moving between it / fighting. Nanoweave was nice when there is no cover or a lot of snipers. I've recently been slowing getting more ranks of Ammo belt though just cause the biggest handicap I've run into is running dry after getting into very nice spots.

25% Nano with med kits when I'm flanking from a distance or CQC.
Adrenaline speed pump and C-4 when I'm outside, so I can flank armor like the Flash before they know what hit them.
save flak for engies and medics, since they are usually on the front line and the first line against armor/air. Nanoweave for me is worth it when in cqc firefights because those few extra bars usually make the difference in mexican standoffs or giving you that extra second to flee and heal yourself.

Actually, this line of thinking is good.

Unfortunatly, it doesn't actually help that much. Besides, if they drop your shields you are probably going to die

If you have the other stuff, then by all means do it. But c4 and jets should come first.

I like to use shield capacitors because as a nimble light assault you have the upper hand when it comes to finding cover to hide behind while your shields regenerate. The seconds off really count. Imagine if you and your enemy both lose full shields and you both run for cover, you have shield capacitors and can safely run back into the fight while he's running on just health for another 2.5 seconds?

Flashbangs, if you don't have them.

Super useful against Skillsaw maxes, and other groupings of people, especially when combined with c4. For use in biolabs or towers only. Or cap points on main facilities.

You can now hear the bang, so you know when to rush it.

Best story is as follows. Loosing Elli amp to TR, they have it half capped. Our squad hotdrops on it. I'm one of the first. Throw flash onto point from the roofish area, everyone drops, we take them all down, with only one casualty. Pretty boss moment right there.
