.
I'm confused. I thought they were going to spread unlocks to every char we have on the same server. I have 3 TR on my server (Connery). My unlocks ae not there universally across all three. Did I miss something (again) ?
Shouldn't I have the same Ammo, Silencer, Scope, etc ..... for the same gun across all three characters ?
Will I get the same vehicle upgrades for all three TR toons I have on Connery. This would be another great gesture from SOE.
Whenever SOE activates this (& some Cert credits) ....... well, it's a policy change that will generate legit goodwill.

The account-wide unlocks only apply to things that you've unlocked with Station Cash, not Certification Points. Also, they're not limited to a single server. Your TR characters could be on different servers and still have access to, say, the Striker if you unlocked it with Station Cash.

Account wide cert unlocks were never gonna happen. Buy a 1x reflex for 1 TR toon, get it on 3 TR toons.. That kills all progression for your 3 characters..
I saw on reddit some guys complaining about buying guns is better then subbing because of the cert grant.. Ill reply what I posted there.
To make you have less buyers remorse. This is assuming you bought a 6month sub ($71).. 500SC per month (3000sc) plus the 48 passive certs you can earn about 8 guns alone if you get 48certs everyday in your 6month sub (You earn roughly 8640 certs over the 6months assuming you log in everyday)
3000sc + 8640 certs allows more guns(around 12 assuming all 700sc guns, more if they are less) Buy guns for the cert grant.. $71 is straight up 10 guns (10guns = 10,000certs once again assuming 700sc guns)
Subbing is still a better deal.

The point of account wide unlocks has nothing to do with certs earned and never did.
Its about not making feeling players feel like spending station cash is a waste if they for some reason decide to start playing a diferent character.

And thus making players more likely to buy and use SC.

So.. if i wanted to abuse this, I could ostensibly (if I had a lot of excess station cash laying around) purchase a bunch of duplicates right now across my three alts...and then get them converted to certs later....

You would have had to have bought the duplicates before the account-wide patch (because now if you buy a weapon that is shareable, it'll just unlock for everyone).

Nice, I will buy the vehicle starter bundle for 2000 SC with my alternative character so he will receive 10.000+ certs for it!

Doesn't make sense to me but I won't be the one to complain about this when I honestly didn't expect compensation at all (and I was okay with that).

I'm glad that something is being done, but certification points seem like the exact opposite of what should be granted as compensation. Maybe a pile of boosts, maybe some Alpha Squad camos, maybe an appropriate duration of subscription membership?
Maybe giving out 50% of the item's value in SC back, and giving the player a 50% discount pass corresponding to the value of each purchased item. A 700 SC item would grant 350 SC and a "700 SC Item Discount Pass - 50%" so another 700 SC item can be purchased. Different purchase value levels would have corresponding passes, which can only apply to items of that value range.

My question is. What will happen if I keep buying NS-11A Station Cash cards from Gamestop? Will I keep receiving Certs from the NS-11A reward? Or will it just be considered a 1500 station cash card at that point? Or is this a 1 time cert thing?
I'd suspect the reward isn't valid after you already got one. But it begs a thought.

Wait, has account wide unlocks been implemented?
I never got A2Am or Rocket pods, or Bulldogs on my other characters that I purchased with station cash. I thought this was still coming.
Edit: Oh, I do have bulldogs on all my sunderers. Very nice. I guess rocket pods and A2Am are considered factions specific. Interesting, no complaints (in fact it makes sense), but just assumed they were considered the same weapon as I don't really see the difference in photon pods or breaker rockets.

As you figured out, only common pool items have been unlocked account-wide thus far, but the development is in the works to extend them to empire-specific equivalents, as Higby posted on Reddit a few days ago.
I put together this spreadsheet in the meanwhile for anyone who cares to use it to see what their cross-faction equivalents might be in aiding purchase decisions or potential refund opportunities:

Where do I Buy certs or is this latest pay to win scheme by smed invite only ? .
I wouldnt mind trading some of the broken shit I've purchased , battle rifle, lancer etc etc for 1,000 certs and dual extended mags for my bursters or something equalt cool from the cert trees .
WTF happened to ps2 not bieng pay to win ? .
" you can only buy wepons (sidegrades GG) and camos with SC .With playtime and passive certs used for upgrades IE scopes , more ammo , health etc etc "
I guess that philosophy is well out of the fucking window now eh ?

Rant maybe
I'll informed , not realy
If they grant people certs in place of duplicate items bought with station cash then in affect the people among us who did just bought certs instead . Something they said wouldnt happen to avoid pay to win .
I know its hard to think past personal gain " herpty derp im getting a pile of certs !!" , but maybe they should actualy start selling certs since there arguably the more effective way to become more competetive for a new player or reconsider giving even more to the experianced ones with this refund .

The point is valid, BUT this is a one-off adjustment. It's not like it'll be possible to 'buy' certs through this mechanism in future.

But there no pay to win ethos is kinda shot if they gradfather people in to this cert for cash refund .Plus its probably the already more experianced player that will have spent more and gain the most , while as you rightly pointed out no one else will be able to utilise or benifit from such a deal I.E newer players who could realy use it .

That's quite the stretch man. You would have had to be psychic to determine you might be able to "buy" certs. It's a one off situation.

I'm saying people recieving certs for station cash are already buying certs , maybe not by there own choice but thats how it is .
I didnt say they will sell certs I said they already are with this refund but only to the limited few , which is wrong . And maybe they should start or not give certs for cash to anyone .
Theres no stretching involved .

Nah, people that bought items with Station cash will have certs refunded to them for having bought multiple items of the same thing, done once, to rectify the error, then moving forward people know where they stand and no certs refunded anymore.
I really don't think you are understanding the situation at all.

That does beg the thousand-cert question....why not just refund station cash to them?
Personally, I see it as a one-off non-issue. But I do wonder why they are choosing to convert between SC and certs this one time.
(The cynical answer being - people are far more likely to buy more SC, to buy more SC weapons, knowing that they've been given the certs to fully trick them out with attachments straight away. As a player I suppose this should upset me. As an accountant, I have to say it's a very good approach)

I would have to agree. I'm not getting any certs unless they do actually come out with the equivalents patch so that if I bought a lancer then I would have a striker and phoenix type thing. If I were to get 1,000 certs back I would gladly get some SC to buy a new weapon and dump those certs into the new weapon. Actually that would be a great time to get SC for dual Mercies for my max and get both extended mags haha. I might just do that when/if I get those certs.

No way would SC ever be returned. That's money spent and in the bank. Refunding an equivalent amount of certs is the way to go and I imagine most people prefer the certs to begin with. Here the customer is happy for getting something back, perhaps something worth more then the sc spent and SOE has improved their image.

I know why people are getting a cert refund thats not the fucking point im making .... sheesh .We were supposed to know where we stood already with certs bieng earned by ingame experiance and passive gain only .
Like I said its hard to see a opinion past your own " WOO HOO IM GETTING A PILE OF CERTS REFUND !!11! " mentality .I dont realy care tbh I just thought my point was worth bringing up . But since none realy gets it , its all good I guess .
