So what do you guys think of the new NS carbine?
I was really excited for it at first because it has a fresh look to it (for TR players at least, as it somewhat resembles blocky NC weaponry) and the advertisement picture where it has a stock kind of threw me off.
After I played with it in VR training area though I decided I probably won't be picking it up. It has a cool sound for sure, but lack of CQC capability and weird up-and-to-the-left recoil pattern (as opposed to up-and-to-the-right on the Lynx and MSW-R which I'm used to) are really discouraging.

It is basically an AMC, but worse.

I was getting ripped apart by it today, so far. Two guys were using it and absolutely wrecking me. Though I was using the VX6-7, which I just started using again yesterday.. not really used to it yet.

I don't really like it. It has a big first shot recoil and after that almost no vertical recoil. Horizontal recoil is there though. But because of the first shot, it's not very good at medium-long range. At close range it's okay, but since it shoots quite slowly, you'll be at disadvantage.
I still continue using it though, since it gives me fresh feeling after all the energy weapons and maybe I even grow to like it.

I like it. However, I disagree re: it having no vertical recoil after the first shot.
I've had no problems killing at medium and close range. It seems to be a pretty good all-rounder, like the NS-11A, if used correctly.

Tested it on VR training only, performed much better them the T5 AMC, more control on the weapon, even with a foregrip vs the adv foregrip of the AMC, it has less recoil!
Look like to have the same damage, and you can use the soft point ammo for close range and high for long range.

Did you VR test it? The accuracy felt much better then the AMC, one paper they are pretty much the same. The AMC pulls alot more then the NS11C, properlly to do with the extra bullet velocity.
As I said in the news thread, seems they listened to me with the new NS weapons

Theres also a LMG NS weapon in the gamefiles now too.
In my opinion it is a great weapon.

Really? I tested it in comparision with the AMC (which is the main weapon I use as Engy) and I found it ever so slightly worse and it has a smaller clip.
So, I'm staying with the AMC.

It's the only x0.75 ADS movement carbine aviable to the NC.
That said, I'm not sure if I like it yet. Low recoil and large magazine are nice, but low bullet damage and low ROF are killing it a bit IMO.

Been looking forward to trying it in the VR. I don't know how good it must be since people are comparing it to the AMC, which has adv grip & compensator.

Does anyone have the weapon statistics google docs link?
And is the NS-11-C on there yet?

That would be true for the VS as well I think?
If so, it looks like a good NC equivalent weapon for the VS! Which is a good thing!
edit: err, low bullet damage? It didn't seem that way yesterday. Maybe I'm misjudging this thing

Yep, it's already in the spreadsheet:

Stat wise I will pass on it. Which is too bad because i really like NS weapons on my VS to get away from the pew pew pew sometimes. Back when the NS-11a came out it was fun seeing all the VS turn to try to find where the gunfire was coming from that was clearly not normal VS sounds. Even think I was TK'd a few times because people thought I was NC.

NS-11C + Giraffe camo + fighting NC is a very funny experience :)
I will continue to interchange between it and the VX6-7 for fun rather than for any underlying need to use the best as they are practically the same.
The bullet drop vs damage falloff + High velocity ammo make me use the NS-11C more in medium distance fights though

hm, a 35/175 carbine, I may be trying it out.

The guns main strength is that its has extremely low recoil(and can take a compensator) along with lo bloom.
If those points dont matter to you then its a weak choice.
On the other hand if you are recoil sensitive and like to use the gun like a water hose then you have found heaven.

I love it, so much better than the stock VS Carbine, the 5 extra bullets are fantastic and since it's not a laser weapon it actully does good damage at range

I'm sorry, I meant low bullet damage compared to other NC carbines. ;)

Yeah I don't find it very good in terms of stopping power as NC. I can manage to control the Mercenary pretty well, so it doesn't seem to be an interesting choice for me.
But the NS-11C looks so much better. That folding stock...

What's killing this gun for what it is designed for is its horrendous bullet speed and first shot recoil. Which means you will leading your targets a lot and burst fire sucks with this gun.
