So, what do you people think about the new alert system?

I'm kinda unsure about it; On one hand it makes people play for territory, but on the other hand it feels artificial and random as heck.

Best thing to happen to the game yet! They have caused the largest wars on Esamir and Amerish I have seen in a while!

Stick it in the "great idea with slightly dodgy implementation" file.

One slight issue is that as soon as the Alert kicks in, everyone runs screaming for that continent. Which means you then have a 20 minutes wait to join the fight...

Early days but good experience so far.
We have school holidays here as well so that probably helps the pops.

Maybe one of these days we'll wait for the right alert...

...AND THEN RETAKE INDAR WHILE NC AND VS FLEE TO ESAMIR OR AMERISH! BWAHAHAHAHAHA...

on the other hand...

1. enjoy +20% exp until you see who has the most in the last 5 minutes
2. change to character on faction with 75% or more
3. move to alert continent, fly out of warpgate to "defense" hex
4. watch membership, boost, alert, and defense stack for +135% of 7500 xp
5. earn 60 certs and go back to other faction

edit: maybe i should clarify. the incentive (roleplaying and fierce loyalty aside) is for the 4th empire to shift to whoever is gaining the upper hand near the end.

just saying. i was playing vanu who had like 10% of esamir, moved to NC and saw TONS of them standing around indar wg waiting for points. then i did that thing above and in about 3 minutes of logging into NC i earned 14800 xp and a 600 xp liberator kill assist. plus 48 certs for the day's passive gain.

Not sure if they patched it, but on briggs there was a cap Indar alert and with 3 minutes left in the alert NC were going to win then the VS ghost capped Amerish and won the Indar alert.
