Just a reminder FNO is on tonight (5PM PDT) - there will be a preview of the App and more:
Mobile App: Clif Bates, Director of Commerce Services, Web Presence and Platform, will be joining us to show us a demo of our new PlanetSide 2 mobile app for Android and iOS. We'll have a short Q&A period after the demo!
Outfit Spotlight: [BRTD] Better Red Than Dead on Miller
Content Session: MAX Patch and Grenade Launcher preview on internal builds (FOR REALZ)
Sneak Peeks: Interview with Corey Navage, Senior Game Designer and product coordinator of Level Design, at Sony Online Entertainment on PlanetSide 2. His day largely consists of directing the level design team and coordinating with the artist, engineers and system designers. He finds that the best part of his job is seeing the amazing work that the level designers produce every day. He gives directions with certain goals in mind and consistently sees his team push those initial ideas into wonderful and amazing designs.

With todays FNO our outfit (and from what we hear others think so too) finally came to the conclusion that it is no longer worth it to try to participate in FNO activities on Miller (being offensive or defensive). Especially since the activity during FNOs on Miller has already been declining over the last few occasions.
It's 2 to 3am in Europe during that time and with FNO bringing the already pretty small world pop completely out of whack it's only worth for the outfit featured as other empires outfit simply cannot bring numbers to put up any resitance or their support does not matter. And nobody stays awake that long for that if they aren't the ones being featured.
It's nice that they do this on Miller too, but I fear that with the "trend" continuing it will turn into showing off complete ghostcapping. Maybe they should think about changing the way it works for Miller outfits, like pre-recording during Miller prime time or something like that. It would surely give some better shots for viewers too.

I get what you are saying. It's already one thing for EU based FNO featured outfits to have their members stay up at 2/3 am, but for the other EU empires to stay up as well to give a good show is just asking too much.
I think Miller still performed remarkably well last night. I was leading a squad in BRTD and there was plenty of stuff going around us all the time, friendlies and enemies. Not too bad imo when you consider the fact that this episode was more of a last-minute improvised event, where BRTD was asked to stand-in for an outfit that bailed out. So props to all empires on Miller for pulling this off.
However, for future FNO outfit showcasing I strongly recommend to have these pre-recorded on local prime time.

I'm surprised there isn't discussion regarding the new MAX weapons considering that the one's included in the current build are rather weak against vehicles.
From the Corey Navage interview:
Hossin is very infantry centric when it comes to bases; although there is one "The Pit" which apparently can be surrounded and bombarded (seemed to get an Impact Crater feel from the description, but on a smaller scale)
Searus will have caves
Searus will have geysers and flowing magma
As part of the hex revamp, the original continents will be getting base changes snuck in - further protecting spawn rooms and capture points
In general, outside of base walls should favor vehicles; courtyard should be equal playing field; in buildings should be infantry
Try to provide each class a part to be awesome for (boxes LA can jump over but others have to go around, crates infantry can crouch behind and be fully protected but maxes stick out, etc)
Spawn rooms out of main buildings to force travel time for defenders too; fights not fun on spawn points; need to make bases safer for defenders to get from spawn to combat area
Tunnels in Amp stations and Tech plants doing their job right now; no current plans for changes
No plans for floating bases currently
MLG arenas might be something a long the lines of Battle Islands
