View Full Version : Who needs a VR room?

What better way to test your builds is there than the real targets and objectives that are provided to you by the test server?
Don't get me wrong, the VR room is awesome but for proper testing of weapons, abilities and tactics, the Test server is were it's at.
That's my conclusion already after one night of testing different builds and tactics on different character slots on the test server.
Six character slots and 10000 certs per character (15000 would be ideal) should be enough for wide experimentation and you can always delete and recreate characters.
So the idea of having a VR room on steroids should be a good incentive for players to help the devs with testing

Agreed. Shooting a stationary targets that dont shhot back is one thing, shooting at the living... thats a whole new ball game :)

I managed to secure the name Reaver on the test server and made that character decked out for the Reaver.
So far I hate the Reaver and prefer my scythe but I need to give it more time.

That's what I tell to all my outfit members that are testing weapons on the VR room.
In the VR room everything looks great, but when you are in a real battle... Things go a lot different!
Most people recommend the TMG-50, I also use it, but it is not an easy weapon for people used to kill with thet carv, also, without the right attachment, the weapon is too hard to control and will have worst performance on the field!
Most people that complain about it, they unlock 3.4 scopes, high velocity ammo, and can't hit a barn with it! High velocity must be the last unlock of the weapon, never the first and it can be avoided and never used!
I like the VR room its awesome, if you get tired of shooting stationary targets, bring a buddy and practice dog fighting, have one guy get on a quad and chase him around with your scithe, or reaver, or mossi. There is a tower in the base two, you can practice fighting over the tower, and there is plenty of room for practicing snipping. Make it part of a training event. Squads have different colors so it helps with who is who. But the test server sounds like fun, but if you want to set up training get some guys together and go to the VR room and go at it.

Attachments on guns are the biggest reason I've used the VR Room. I've changed from soft-point to high-velocity and the other way waround for many weapons since using the VR.
For instance the NS-15M, I tried it first with high-velocity and hated it. The recoil climb was just awful for mid-range. So I went with the soft-point and it completely changed the feel of the gun for me.

I honestly think giving 10k certs to new characters on the Test Server is a brilliant tool for getting more players to use it for exactly this reason. SUre you might not care or want to text the buggy, upcoming additions to the game, but nothing is better than having a real battlefield to test ideas for character builds.

True dat. When I am finished playing the crap outta something, I just delete the char and recreate it so I am refreshed with 10k certs. I absolutely am in LOVE with the wraith cloak now that I can try it in ACTUAL combat.

I had some guy making a fool of me using it on Waterson Esamir with the Fury. He must of killed me 4 or 5 times in a row, always when I was shooting at someone else. Never saw/heard him coming.

many of my friends are newbie, and they still need it..
sometimes we discuss about weapon and vehicle.

IDK, I use the VR extensively due to the lack of timers on vehicles and the ability to try every single weapon customization.

I was actually thinking it would be great to have a second in the VR room where you can join 1 of 3 teams and have small PvP matches against your own side in it. Onlookers could watch while down in the arena small groups of 12 vs 12 vs 12 or something fought it out for like 10 minute fights. Fighting there doesn't affect your stats and you don't gain certs, but here you can do live weapon testing.

Absolutely. Its a great place for those new to the game, getting a handle on wepaons and vehicles. But because its VR, people should remember that once in-game things will become very different.
I love using VR to get the hang on new weapons.

I would like a VR room that is a replica of the continents with just your one squad instanced into it.

As I said in the opening post, VR room is still awesome and extremely useful. But there's a hidden testing power on the Public Test Server that most players still have to explore.
Recreating 10K cert characters to see what works and what doesn't in battle situations is awesome.

it's better than nothing. I didn't always have the HDD space to get the test server so having it was helpful to see how it acteda bit when you put differnt parts on it. I found out I like the sirius over the other one because in the end you can have more control over it. It helps a little bit. I just wish the stuff moved somewhat and could fight against you. Albeit harmlessly. MAybe a vr room in the VR room whwer eyou take false damage to see which one wins. Like a war game scenario to see if you can kill them before they kill you! miminal training that way.
Even better! One that helps teach group dynamics and to rely and use things you can do in groups you can't do alone! Or did they remove all semblance of that to sell weapons and make money! 8\
