View Full Version : Hackers on Test Server?

Was on the PTR yesterday and aside from greatly enjoying the new battle flow system (aka lattice) I got to one choke-point near Andvari i think... Bio lab next to the Crown and all of my squad was consistently getting instantly killed on spawn what I can only assume to be a hacker.

Spawn die, spawn die. Didn't even move 2 steps before death or if I got into a building I'd get killed in an empty room instantly in 1 shot.

Made a report and logged off since it wasn't fun anymore, has anyone else run into similar problems on the PTR?

I also died on respawn in the spawn tube once, killed by enemy gunfire. See http://www.twitch.tv/johdex/c/2136661

I've seen people who's aim seemed rather stellar but for the most part I've written it off as a buggy server. There was one instance though that stood out to me as aimbotting like a mother fucker. No idea if they've looked into it yet.

Seen something weird last night on matherson. I assume aimbot but one never knows. Fellow VS scythe was shooting backwards. He was flying in one direction away from a tank, but his gun fire was still shooting on target.

I was accused a few times yesterday on the test, but it was the buggy server throwing people off. People were warping all over one minute and perfectly fine the next. The problem was deciding if it was lag, bugs, or someone hacking because the hit registration was always fine, just the movement was really goofy.

Also, some spawn shields were not working properly and the pain fields were misplaced in some cases(probably has to do with so many changes to outposts), which may explain why you were getting killed inside one.

How to get on the test server?

Download the test client and make sure you have an SOE account.

Thanks. Is it usually busy?

Not from what I've seen or heard. Higby even commented about the lack of players:p
But come this weekend we will probably see more players on the server.

It was only an 8gb patch install for me.

These hackers are called devs. I have a screenshot of Higby standing mid-air while a whole TR zerg is shooting at him, lol.

Eveonline player here and since november PS2 fanatic.

Eveonline has various testservers,up to 60.000 players online on 1 single server during primetime and you will rarely see more than 100@ any given time on the testserver.

What they do when they run masstests is giving out extra Skillpoints(certpoints in ps2) for those attending.

Just an idea for SOE,want to have 2000 players on,hand out some extra cookies -))

Thing is, even though the test server's numbers are low, it's probably enough for MOST things that need testing. Such as the bug catching and the balance passes. Sure it might not be good for testing the massive sweeping changes like the Lattice, but for the smaller changes its still a vast improvement over what I imagine is a much, much smaller QA team.

The test sessions are being held at 1000 hrs AEST (Aus). So its unlikely many people from Briggs would be able to make it to the PTS until the weekend. (for those that do day work)

Having said that, Saturday / Sunday mornings are so full of RL stuff, its unlikely Im going to make those either.... sad panda

They plan to do more euro friendly test times according to Higby - dunno when though.
