No offense to the purple haired queen of the Vanu Sovereignty [Maggie] and the divine baldness that is TRay (He doesn't come around enough for me to worry about offending him:p), but most people prefer pants over running around in a skin tight spandex.

Yayy finally !

I hope we get a nice revamp on the look of VS armour/suits.. Much needed change as Im really not much of a fan the current VS suits :/

Hopefully the new armour will actually be Vanu tech and absorb the damage from the lasher :)..

I agree, I like the look of the VS but the armor is really bland. I want armor, not something from an exercise video

I fully agree, it is a bit of an embarrassment to the Vanu that they decided to make them look so gay lol.. In PS1 VS looked alot cooler

Well yeah, because VS had armor. Shiny futuristic awesome armor. The armor you can see on them now looks pretty cool (the parts that have armor), they just need more of it.

Needs to be seperated from the Character skin really...
It just looks like the Foam-rubber Armor of some Toku Villian otherwise.

Man everyone's hatin' on the VS armor, and weapon sounds. I easily like the sounds their guns make the most and I think their armor looks the best.

The TR look like they found big brother's hockey pads in the garage and decided it would make good battle armor. Hardly the intimidating storm trooper look one hopes for out of a totalitarian regime. That and TR guns sound like the cheap plastic toy guns I used to have as a kid.

NC look and sound fine for the most part. Always felt their guns needed a little more growl to 'em but their armor is fitting.

I like the current look of the Vanu armor, but it's nothing compared to the Vanu of PS1. Just look at that armor... especially the helmet and the orange visor.

Can't underestimate the importance of sound. If you think TR guns sound weak, invest in a sound card. My Xonar DX is one of my happiest upgrades.

I have a SB Zx with AD 700 headphones. The sounds in the game are deep and the sounds stage is great. It's not that I can't hear stuff well, it's really that the guns sound terrible, at least for the TR.

Yea, if u have a decent pair of headphones (ive got Soundblaster Pro + Astro A50 Headset with Dolby digital live conversion to 7.1 surround) and i can tell u guys, sound is a absolutely incredible. If only they had more advanced music ques so we can head more of the planetside music would be great..

TR guns are suppose to sound as they do becuase they use small calibre ammunition with very high fire rate.. Ive shot alot of guns in my life, and have loads in my house.. All of my .22's including the .22 revolver sound like little shit BBguns compared to the real deal .45 (Like the NC guns).. So ye thats what you TR scum get for ur crappy guns ;P lol

Us VS will be back properly once we get our well deserved weapon fix !

To be fair, they are probably using some kind of Body Armor Piercing .30/7.62 NATO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.62x51mm_NATO) derivative...
Considering an Airsoft BB is .24/6mm and Video Game guns are generally quieter then their real life counterparts to prevent Ear-rape, its easy to see why the TR trademark "Bruddabruddabrudda" is softer then the NC's "Th-rud th-rud th-rud."

When you shoot them, the sound dies off immediately and there's no reverberation. The TR guns should probably be the loudest and most filling since they are still actually using bullets. NC weapons are rail guns and the VS are lasers so it makes sense that their weapons don't sound like a conventional gun.

The TR however, sound like they are using full auto pop-guns. The TMG-50's not bad but everything else sounds small. Hell, making the TR guns sound like a .22 would be an improvement. Right now they just sound like a nail gun.

Both nc and tr guns are breaking the soundbarrier so theey should have a satisfying pow when shot. The vs guns are disintegrating air as they are fired and should sound similar to thunder.

Well Rail Guns aren't quiet man, the reason the NC do 20% more damage per shot is because they are firing 20% more bullet per shot instead of the TR's 20% more bullets per minute.

Again, this is probably to prevent ear rape...

A big hullabaloo on the SOE forums right now is how loud they made the Light Assault Jet Packs initial boost sound, with all those for it not realising those against it just don't want to have their ear drums blasted out with each jump.
A TMG-50 is probably a .50 cal rifle, which would make it the caliber equivalent to a Basilisk/Drake or a Kobalt.

Well I'm not saying make it deafening, I'm saying it should have a little more robust sound to it is all.

I'm comparing TR guns to other FPS games that have very good, visceral gun sounds. I never said the NC guns are or should be quieter, but I'd imagine that the TR guns should make a much, how should I put this, stronger? noise then they do now.

If nothing else change the sound the LC2 Lynx makes. My old Nightkast made for a more convincing gun sound then that thing.

For me the tmg-50 is a 7,62 rifle and all the others for the TR are 5,56.
The tmg sounds nice, but all the others sounds like firing nails, not real .223 (5,56) bullets.
The NC use rail guns that doesn't need an explosive propellant for his ammo, but it sounds much cooler them a rifle using real bullet from the TR.

I think NC uses hybrid railgun technology. If you check very closely, NC magazines have cartridges (with explosive propellant, like gun powder), and magnetic accelerator in the barrel.

I presume the explosive propellant is to conserve energy reserves of a weapon itself, to give a bullet the initial acceleration so you need less energy for electro-magnets to accelerate it to damaging speeds.

That might be a reason why NC weapons have muzzle flash, the explosive propellant itself is, well, explosive, so it makes the flash like conventional (TR) guns.

Aesthetic upgrades would be awesome! The VS need to look a bit darker, more mysterious and transhuman, than 50's and 60's sci-fi with "ray guns". (Though, I kind of like that look and think the VS looks way better than the boring old "modern military' look of the other two factions.)

I have the Sharkoon X-Tactic Pro (true 5.1 surround sound) and the game overall does sound awesome with those. However, I dilike the NC sounds because they sound pretty much like I would expect.... a bullet fired with a electro-magnetic sound added to it. I think I am the only one that doesn't like NC sounds..

I like the TR sounds because at least they sound like guns even though they could be beefer.. especially the snipers and LMGs.

VS guns sound interesting, but just too pew-pew laserish.. which is just kinda a turn off even though I guess it's close to how you would think they would sound. You just kinda want them to sound like death... I think a sound buff would be amazing and really like the effort they are trying to put into VS. My VS character was my original and I am looking forward to the new lasher animation as well.
