The infamous Boston Bomber was caught. Based on footage on two security cameras, the bomber was arrested today. Hopefully that help to ease the nation's pain just a little more...

Provided they got the right one, considering he's only a suspect at this point and it still has to be proven it was that person.

Hopefully they did catch whoever is responsible though. Wonder what the motive was, even if it's questionable it should be made known to the public (rather than to the victims) as propaganda is largely the goal of the perpetrator.

the person responsible deserves to be kept in a tiny black cell with no windows or bars for the rest of his life. no outside interaction. death is too forgiving for somebody like that, they should suffer for what they did.

Seems like every news media is jumping the gun in hopes of being the first to get it right. That's quality journalism right there:doh:

And here I thought I was the only guy from Chicago.

Draw your own conclusions. I have to admit it makes you question.

Well, just after they said they arrested someone, they said they didn't. IMHO, they are just trying to flush out the other bomber (if there is one) to make it easer to arrest him/her.

It still happened. They have all of Mass. on lockdown. All public transportation is shut down, and there is no way into or out of the state.

It's annoying. I hate that I have to avoid all the major news sites to get any reliable information. The worst part about them is they're trying to figure out which nationality the suspects are so they can then provide reasoning for someone from that area to have hate for America. They just outright ignore that where the suspects are from doesn't mean shit, unless they're somehow tied to a government of that area.
CNN, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS... they're all such trash. We really do get better information from twitter, because even the reporters on those news sites are not half as informed as the first hand witnesses on twitter.

The only thing that sucks about twitter is too many people try to act like reporters and rather than re-tweeting information from their source, they act as if they discovered the information.

Out of the city you mean, and that's not including all the suburbs of Boston.

Actually, I mean the state. They put it in lockdown.

Think your info is a bit off there. It's not the whole state heh, just Boston and the immediate suburbs.
Massachusetts = 6,500,000 people.
Boston = 650,000 people.

Another current news story that the media drives me nuts with is the Texas plant explosion. First it was 3 dead, then 5 dead, then 15, then possibly as many as 15. Then it's unknown, last night I looked again and they said possibly up to 48 are confirmed dead! This morning I look again, same website, and it says unknown number of dead and any numbers they give are pure speculation.

They're getting worse than the weatherman. They used to be the ones who were wrong 90% of the time and it was accepted, now it's the entire news media that's wrong and it's still accepted!

Being from Massachusetts I've never seen anything quite like this.. never seen so many police in one place. They still haven't found the other guy.

I just turned on the police scanner (h.t.t.p://www.ustream.tv/channel/ma-rt-9-window-cam) to see if anything interesting was going on (nothing is). Sounds like the guy has managed to hide himself and/or get away from the area they're searching.

From what I gather they split the search into 4 areas. Only one area is left and it's 90% clear. They seem to be looking through everything they can from the sounds of it, calling out the right people to check every bag/box they see unattended.

Amazing how easy it is to totally freeze an American city in its tracks.

The guy is surrounded again near a house in water town. This was like 30 minutes after the search was called off for the day I think.

holy shit, boston pd actually let him live? here in chicago, chicago pd would likely let him trip and fall on a gun trigger by "accident" and that would be the last anyone heard of it.

as for "serious condition" i wonder if that happened before or after he was put in cuffs.

I think it's a little bit of both. He was injured in the chase the night before and spent almost 24hrs bleeding and hiding in the boat. They shot in some flashbangs, and teargas.. before they actually took him out.

Is there a difference between a Canadian and an American? :)

Although this is an obvious joke, it's still a bit too rough.
