I have only been playing for maybe a week now on connery and it seems one specific outfit on the VS side seems to be able to headshot you while running away from you or their scythes have 2x the rate of fire it had when I tried using one.... I am on NC and TR is a fun and usually epic fight but then VS shows up w/10 people and dominates everyone. I know the GMs are working on it but nothing ruins my night more than a bunch of VS hackers coming along and just being jerks... please try to get this fixed asap

For what it's worth, last night was particularly bad, and when I say that, I mean maybe 3 different people that I could notice doing blatant hacking such as clipping through the floor and repairing gens/killing people from beneath. Typically I don't feel nearly as many people are actually hacking as people think there are, but I did notice a few exploiters going around last night, when usually I may be suspicious of one person every week or two.

Some devs actually have permission to run programs to track what third parry programs you're runing on your computer. It's constantly being watched though, to make sure no federal crimes are commited. So, TL;DR, yes, they DO have a program taht they use to check if you're hacking or not.

That would be the most awful anti-cheat there is. Getting constant headshots isn't proof of cheating. Yes, it is suspicious and in many cases it does mean cheating, but not a 100% proof.

I can name a few people in certain NC outfits that 'very good' players.

But I think hacking in this game with or without outfits is way out of hand. Just youtube such things and see its rampant... But what if I report them... Well its been proven that SOE only gives them a few months ban then lets them play again... I imagine the PS2 MLG tournies will become who paid the most for hacks.

Its really annoying for PS2 because unlike a match based shooter you can just goto a different server.. PS2 your stuck with these pieces of shit forever since SOE isnt doing much to stop it.

To HiroshiChugi... They may have programs that can track that stuff... Problem is, they dont do much to fix it! I will never forget Kudochops stream.. for over 6 HOURS him and his viewers watched a hacker streamsnipe him.. Only reason it was fixed was because we spammed the hell out of Twitter/Reddit/Official Forums... My $$$ and wallet for this game went tighter then a nuns sphincter after seeing that.

Well, the cheaters have very different ideas on life. I still don't get it, but they think in a different way. They very much have other issues "deep down" so cheating in a game doesn't go that far and they are still able to be happy with them selves.

I had a long conversation with a guy in PS1 who was ruining a fight, it started pretty abusive and turned into me just questioning his motivation, like how it could possibly be fun. His response was essentially "do you see how bad I'm PWNING these people... and this guy and that guy i'm killing people think they are good players! Ha! nothing compared to me!" The cheats didn't even enter into it in his opinion.
There are others who are of the opinion well everyone is doing it. Which of course is BS...those are just people who can't get their little minds around some people really ARE that much better than others.

I spent a lot of time lurking on a few different cheaters forums a while ago trying to figure out what makes them tick. There is a variety of attitudes but one thing seems common they ARE the sorts of people who simply do not get along well with others, and by and large I would not want to sit down and have a beer with any of them.

PS2 can be very competative, taking bases and gaining resources can be alot of fun and sometimes a repetative chore (back hacking). But I think the cause of all of this is the K/D ratio, every one wants this K/D that is just awesome, you know bragging rights. But how could you possibly even brag about something you didnt earn. I mean players like me who have invested time and money into the game wont jepordise my account, but I guess other guys who do it dont really care because SOE really doesnt require much to make a account, just a user name and password. Exactly. You've been playing less then a month and don't even know all of your enemy's capabilities via equipment, certs, etc. This isn't Call of Duty or Battlefield where you get a grasp on everything in the game in a week then just master it. Even when you've played all empires and tried out everything in combat you've just begun to have enough tools to try to understand the different strategies different people/outfits/empires employ. Plus this is Planetside 2, it has the most random and unpredictable deaths in FPS history.

It is not Lag like you are used to in a lot of shooters. We are talking about client side hit detection + FPS + ping. They all add up to things you see do not always represent what those around you see.

It is most obvious in two ways. I am running around a corner and just before I turn I start getting shot, two steps around the corner the person has no more line of site on me... I still die. On the OTHER guys screen he started shooting me early enough that he got the kill before I turned the corner but the time it takes for his client to tell the server he did that much damage and the server to tell my game it was done I was in a different spot.

You are driving around on a flash in a convoy of Sundies and MBTs. Suddenly a Sundie to your left just turns and runs you over. Well on his screen you either were already ahead of him or far enough behind him he though the turn was clear. It happens a lot.

I know it is easy, and very often frustrating to the point of rage to just throw out hackusations but other than the below world exploits it is hard to say any of these things don't have other explanations besides hacking.

from what you have stated i already know which outfit your speaking of,and ill let you know right now they do have some very good guns in that outfit, but not all of them are legit. i know this for a fact and i reported the outfit itself along with the players that i know are hacking.now i dont know if the outfit officers know about these players but then again they mite and if this is the case they are exploiting the fact that these players are hacking and taking advantage of it.

i think outfits like this need to be red flagged and looked over when it comes turny time,and if they had X amount of players banned for hacking, then should not be allowed to compete. outfits that turn a blind eye towards hackers or exploit the hackers they have in their outfit should be punished. i think after X amount of players are banned from a outfit for hacking the outfit itself should be disbanned. outfits would be more diligent in recruiting and reporting these scrubs if this was the case.

and if any of these players from that outfit are reading this thread, know that one day your gonna login and see alot of people gone from the roster and i want you to think of me when that happens.

Or I'm going to think of you when we continue to battle past hacking accusations. Proving devs and moderators wrong time after time that it's all skill. I have physical evidence showing that Smed himself has been wrong about my players.

It's a rare trait in today's gaming world for players to actually look upon themselves and take personal responsibility for their skill and ability level. Instead, they look for excuses and any other factor to "prove" that someone who beats them constantly is hacking. There's no desire to get better, there's just denial. In their mind, they are the best and their play style is the best.

My outfit has been whined about for 9 years between both PlanetSide 1 and 2. It never has gotten old, and guess what? We're all still around, doing our thing. Nothing will change, we'll continue to improve and get better on an individual basis. I'll continue to recruit and attract not only the best players, but the ones who are willing to learn to push themselves to be the best. The best doesn't mean TOP K/D, or INSANE SPM, if that's what you're all thinking. Being the best at your ROLE is what's important to me. If you're a pilot, why aren't you the best pilot? If you fly libs, why aren't you the best? If you drive sunderers, why aren't you the best at it? It all gets to the biggest question: How do you become the best at it?

Players I recruit look for reasons to get better, they don't look for excuses as to why someone else is better.


Also, as a lot of this thread has been pointing out, this game is buggy. It's got terrible hit detection and client side. This is PlanetSide after all. People die to weird stuff, it's difficult to judge what really happened on the other players screen. There's been few times where I could honestly say I thought without a shadow of a doubt someone was "hacking." Rest of the time, it's just bullshit weird deaths.

I saw a couple guys on Waterson yesterday while I was on Amerish that seemed to be doing that, but one was NC and the other was Vanu. They were teleporting and blinking in and out of being rendered. At one point one of them seemed to be half inside a wall.

Neither of them seemed to be able to hit me either though, so I figured it must be some kind of glitch since we were all in the same area.

I know all the people in FC who have been banned. They were all re-instated afterwards. Two of them I've known since 2007, great guys and good friends of mine - in fact a Father/Son combo. The other has been in FC around 2 months, but has a K/D no where near where you're describing. He was banned due to an unfortunate situation involving a random hacker teleporting into his liberator. That's it, those are the only players who have been banned from FC at one point in time. All bans lifted after realization came that they weren't hacking.

This is why you're entire argument falls apart, there is no one at all that fits this description. If there is, I ask you to PM me who it is since I hate hackers just as much as the next person.

Most actual hackers are obvious, and when reported get banned quickly. I spotted one on Monday night at 11:42pm. He was warping around and killing willy-nilly. I ran around in circles to get him to kill me so I could get his name and report him. He killed me at 11:44pm, I reported him via /report. I also sent the GM a tell that XYZ was hacking at Snake Ravine right now. The hacker was banned at 11:48pm (I surmise, as his kill board halts at that time and he hasn't logged in since).

When you see those messages from the GM that they are on hack patrol, it's true and all you need to do is point them to the hackers.

If you suspect a player, check his kill log. The hackers stand out. (PM me if you want some names to see what I mean.)

I get accused of hacking all the time. For some reason, people think getting one shot by a tank (before the nerf) was somehow impossible. Even now, I regularly mow infantry down in my Prowler. Whether it's on the move, or positional, I often hear a rant or two from those I kill.

More often than not, it's the high BR guys that aren't used to getting killed time and again that make the most noise. Or perhaps those of us who find the game a bit tougher to wrap their heads around and get frustrated.

There are players out there, especially vehicle drivers (ground and air) that are just that good at calling shots. I have seen some really oustanding shooting in my few months playing the game, sometimes not one ranging shot to be had... just BOOM.

Put one of these guys in a turret and, well, watch the sparks fly.

Now, over time, I have been able to discern a hacker from lag, framerate, or server/home computer issues. Aimbotting is the least obvious and the clever ones know that in a big firefight it's nearly impossible to determine fact from fiction. It's the turds that try it at night or when the server pop is low that are easy to spot AND I'm sorry to say, more common than many folks want to admit.

Until SOE makes real strides in detection, it will be nearly impossible to stop especially in a free to play game.

Im NC on Connery, and I do not come across hackers that often. Maybe once or twice a week, but thats really it.

A lot of people who I thought were just really good have been banned for hacking, and a lot of people who are obvious hackers haven't been banned yet.

I have noticed more and more high BR people who I've suspected of being hackers getting banned the past couple of months.

GMs are doing the best they can. Its difficult to detect hacks. Some of these guys go through great lengths to hide their hack.

I just play it safe and assume everyone that kills me is hacking, especially all of those FC folks :groovy:. I definitely agree with the OP that hacking is clearly getting out of hand, there are over 4k+ hackers on Connery that I demand be brought to justice immediately.

We had one on Miller yesterday, shooting through the walls of spawn rooms. Got some quite hilarious footage out of it of people getting spawn room killed and revived with revive grenades by their team mates over and over again.

wasn't trying to offend your outfit,in fact i rather enjoy my encounters with FC,HT and ,GOLD. not alot of competition on connery and even less good outfits to engage. i love a good fight, and i have the the highest respect for all good legit players, regardless of the faction. but hackers , i hope they all get amoebic dysentery and die a slow death.

if hes legit hes got nothing to worry about, but if it is who i think it is ,then he wont be back. in fact he hasn't been in game since the report was sent.

What assumptions has Shock made exactly? The way you word what you type makes it more then obvious who you had been talking about, you might as well had just put the outfit and player names right in your post. The fact that you even sent Shock a PM pretty much says who you had been talking about the whole time. No point in pretending you had been talking about someone else at this point.

That aside, no member of FC is banned, if you don't see any certain person online it's because they are tired of a game in dire need of proper balance, and other things I am sure you can find mentioned else ware on PSU in great detail.

Fact of the matter is, do you really think any self respecting outfit that plans on having anything to do with MLG would allow hackers? We hate them as much as anyone else if not more so due to the nature of our outfit, and it is not tolerated in FC, never has been. It is rather disappointing that players at a higher skill level are flat out disliked by so many just because of the simple fact that they are better at a game then someone else.

Maybe one of these days people will understand that it is indeed possible that someone is just plain better then them, and they did not need to resort to hacking to play at that level.

And there is a chance that this new ban wave has also caused false positives. Seems like they have lot to improve or false positives are just a myth.

Anyways, it's not very polite to accuse anyone of cheating without 100% certain evidence.
