I have got lots of questions about the Hacker ...

Will he able to defend by himself ? He can take down one enemy soldier , even if its attacking by suprise ?

Neccesary he needs to be in a team ? He cant take a facilitie alone ?

What is his mission in a group ?

Can he disable vehicles ? How we does it ?

Sure he'll be able to defend himself, he is a player...with a gun. No, he cannot watch his back AND hack at the same time. Sure, a hacker could take a facility by himself....extremly difficult, but technically, ya....His mission in a group..to hack. Anyone can hack, but with the cert., it makes it faster.

Sounds like you're thinking a hacker is equivalent to an infiltrator, which is not the case. You can be in the any armor except the MAX and hack. The only disadvantage a hacker has is less room in his inventory (unless the REK goes in a weapon slot which would be a bigger disadvantage... anyone know?). So, yes, a hacker can kill people, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a surprise attack. :)

The REK takes up one of your pistol slots, but if you are in a renforced armor, it is no big deal cause you have 2 pistol slots and 2 rifle slots. It is best to have a Gauss in hand, a Pheonix on your back, a MAG-scatter and knife on you hip for close combat and REK in the other pistol slot. When you guys get in game you will realize that is a common loadout.

Edit. Usually when you are hacking you have squad members watching the doors. Most control terminal rooms are small and have turns in them so the attacker either has to come inside or toss grenades or a rocket in there.

I'm not sure, but I'd guess, yeah, stuff like the REK takes up a pistol slot. I think I remember screens where it showed equipment like the medical applicator and or something in the pistol slot. Besides, why would they give you 2 pistol slots on the Agile and Reinforced armors? It isn't like you're gonna want to carry around ammo for different 2 pistols, so it would seem like you could put some equipment in those extra slots.

Edit:Bah, beat me to it :p

REK takes 1 pistol slot, can you also place in an inv slot anyways. Because it was my assumption that an infiltration suit has 1 pistol slot and 1 hip slot(knife). I'm curious, cause i'd hate to walk armed with only a knife and a REK into a base....cloaked or uncloaked(not like i'd be uncloaked).

Well, no one said inf suits are perfect, but yeah, inf suit users will probably have to become pretty good at killing with a knife, if they plan on hacking or engineering or some such thing.

One minute, people still think there are classes in this game? Okay, when we say Hacker or Medic or Engineer, we mean some with those certifications. He/she will still be able to use guns/tanks/etc. as long as he/she has those certs as well.

sorry, i didn't mean to imply a class. I plan on being a hacker with an infiltration suit, and i was curious if i could have a rek and a pistol, or just a rek.

sorry for the mistake

I'm not sure but I think that inventory is seperate from equiping. So you can probably carry both, but have to go into inventory to equip one or the other (1-3 sec delay). If I'm wrong, you can just use a knife and melee booster. BTW, if you cap a base yourself and hold it those 15 minutes until it belongs to whatever empire you've chosen, you at least a demi-god.

Yes. Anyone in the SOI gets the fifteen minute timer I'm relatively sure.

Biggest thing is that likely ejecting would require a player animation and a vehicle animation to be performed concurrently while the vehicle is moving . . . I can see that looking a little choppy/unprofessional for client-side prediction, would probably be some popping and repositioning that could be avoided if the player was simply dropped outside the vehicle. If the vehicle was standing still it wouldn't be a problem (as we've already seen).

I just checked some screen shots, so yes, a REK does use a weapon slot, but now the question is can you switch out a REK with a pistol in your inventory (if the inventory really is like Deus Ex as I read somewhere)? My guess is probably not, but it would be nice. I would be bored in the infil suit myself if I only used a knife mostly. I guess that'll keep infil's from running the game though. *shrug*

hahahahaha, damn you're right.

I've been up 26 out of the last 31 hours. :P I == extremely tired dude. Fuck, I don't even know what THREAD I was shooting for there.

A hacker can be anyone with a REK, just someone with hacking skills will be a lot faster. I'm not sure if an infiltrator could hold a REK, but I'm pretty sure.

infiltrators can use pistols, pistols use pistol slots, reks fit in pistol slots, so yeah i guess infiltrators can carry/use reks.

Looks all you guys know a lot about PS ... here go new questions :

I suppose REK are the initials of a weapon , whats the exactly name of the weapon ?

Are there guards in the facilites controlled by NPCs ?

Can you , with an infiltration suit , be 99% invisible if the other guy isnt using any implant ?

If you shoot and you are in stealth mode , the stealth mode goes off ?

If you are in Stealth mode , you walk slower or suffer any class of penalitzation ?

If you are in Stealth mode , are you able to detect other stealthed guys ?

Thx for your replies
:) :) :)

http://www.student.smsu.edu/s/san232s/hardfunnypics/smileybangingheadonwall-Grunt.gif have you even glanced at the main page?REK
The Remote Electronics Kit (REK) is a hand-held hacking device that can remotely interface with the majority of enemy terminal types at close range. Most REK functions require either Hacking or Advanced Hacking Certification, but there are also standard functions that don't require any hacking certifications but take considerable time when employed by a non-Hacker.
no
skip this one, makes no sense
yes
no, but you have NO armor so if anyone even thinks they saw you, you might as well kill yourself
only if you have darklight or audio amp
