What gets hit first a personal shield (via implant) or MAX armor?

I think it's probably both. The shield would then just absorb some of the damage done to the armor/health.

They both get hit. When you have your sheild it absorbs some of the damage, but everytime you get hit it drops your stamina a lot, but you still take armor and health damage even if your shield is on.

are you sure? huh, i thought if you had your shield enabled, it would take stamina, but not health, otherwise, it just wouldnt seem worth it.

It doesn't *take* health, it takes only stamina. But when they shoot you, some of the damage gets through the shield and damages your armor and health slightly. The only difference that the shield makes is that the damage you receive is decreased dramatically.

Yeah it doesn't make you invinsable, it just makes you a hell of a lot stronger. Believe me you do not want a MAX rolling up on you in a place with few places to hide if he has a shield on.

wouldn't the shield get hit. if they both do then wtf is the point of a personal shield?

The point is survive in situations where you should be dead...like if a MAX came up to you and started firing, and you turned your shield on and had enough time to throw plasma grenades and squeeze off a rocklet round or four and miraculously survived. Sure, you're near dead, but you just took that MAX on and now you can gloat to your friends about it. ;)

Because with the personal shield, your armor and health will drop less. Let's just make up some numbers here.

You get shot by a bolt driver.

Without Personal Shield -
You get hit for 60 armor and 80 health.

With Personal Shield -
You get hit for 30 armor and 40 health.

Did that help?

I hope you mean "or health", not "and health".

First, I thought maxes couldnt have implants because that would make them wayyyy too powerful? Second, when you put on a personal shield, does it slowly drain stamina, or does it only take away stamina when you're shot? Third, if a bolt driver does 60 ap and 80 hp I will personally assassinate everyone at Sony. I do not want 90% of the people playing planetside to be maxes, snipers, and reavers.

MAXs can use implants, Smokejumper says he does it all the time. Not sure on stamina drain. And he was saying that the rifle does that while protected by a shield (NC MAXs is stronger, imagine them combined). I don't believe him that he knows, because that would be NDA breakage, so if he really could know, he wouldn't risk it.

The NC MAX special ability takes all the damage, i9t has a set amount of damage and then the shield is gone. However the shiled implant only greatly reduces the damage, and can run as long as you have stamina.

And Yes a NC MAX with his special ability and shield implant will be hard to take down, but you can guess that once he activated both; every single gun is gonna be aimed at him.

Simultaneously? Armor would be pointless.

Damn, neo, have you ever played an fps? Armor reduces damage to your hp, idiot. Your armor's strength at reducing damage never goes down. Once you're out of armor though theres no more damage reduction. That's why i'm going to be a combat engineerer, i can repair my armor when i need it.
