View Full Version : Problems with CTD past two patches..

I haven't heard much about this elsewhere, so I figured it's time to ask!
Two patches ago my client seemd to get a lot better performance wise, but I was CTD'ing every 2-3 hours. After this latest patch I get about an hour of playtime before I CTD now.. 2 hours wasn't bad, was a good time to take a break, but every hour is becoming annoying. Especially 2 minutes before an Alert ends.

Interesting. Might wanna search for "constant crashing" on the official forums, finds you a thread just for that!
Yes, it's a problem, yes, it annoys the shit out of a lot of people. But I recently got a new little laptop with a better CPU than my old one, so I'm curious if the Issue is resolved now.

I kept CTD-ing after GU8. Turned out that the new update couldn't handle Mumble running so I have to start Mumble now after booting PS2.

For me it started with this patch. I got like four or five crashes just today.
Strangely they happened most of the time when I either opened the map or used a teleporter.
But that could be a coincidence.
But also the desync/nodamage but is back for me. Seems to come back when server pop is high.
*edit*
Also using mumble. Maybe that's a problem. But as other outfit uses mumble there is no alternative.

Weird, I use mumble with PS2 and it works really good! :)

i also had several CTDs today.
one was reproducable for some time. i crashed every time when i was in sunderer loadout screen and put my mouse over the utility slot. tried it 6 times and immediately crashed every time.
it stopped, when i bought the ammo dispenser cert, but i still had some random midfight CTDs

Way back in the day I used to ctd about every 30 minutes. I was able to set more allocated memory to vram and my crashing issues went away. I hope you find a solution to your problem quickly.

I have had that problem all day today. I have not identified any common denominator as to what might cause it since I've had it happen when I was totally alone and when I was in the middle of a huge fight.

This patch definitely has some issues. Me and my friend get these gigantic lag spikes that drop me to 1 fps for a few seconds every so often.
Luckily, no crashing issues though.

Yeah I crashed two or three times this weekend. Seemingly at random. Not too bad as I played several hours each day but still it seems something in the patch has brought back some crash bugs.

Yeah same, very annoying when your FPS drop to 1 during a battle. And I had a crash every hour. Now I can't even launch the game it's constantly crashing... Crashside 2

will the announced hotfix patch adress the CTD issues?
it is really annoying. i can´t play for an hour without crashing to desktop. sometimes i crash out right after entering the game. i´m on an average of 5-6 crashes per hour. this sucks big time

I've crashed about twice in 3-4 hours maybe? But one of my outfit mates had crashed to her desktop quite a few times in one hour the other day. (2 days ago maybe?)

Mumble's overlay causes issues with PS2 (and some games in general). Is it related to that? Otherwise the only other reason I can think of why starting mumble after PS2 works is due to either PS2 or mumble wanting exclusive ownership of the mic or something.
As a general note, if anyone has CTD's who also have some sort of thirdparty overlay in game (fraps FPS, recording software putting indicators, mumble, etc), I'd really recommend disabling the overlay and seeing if that helps.

i am crashing all the time and i am using no 3rd party software at all. no overlays, no voip, nothing.
there is not even much software installed. i bought the rig for ps2 with a fresh win7 professional 64bit and only installed a few games on it.

I crash every time I come near a hex with more than 1 platoon in it. Every time.

I've changed computers! As of recently, the game no longer freezes. My PC just randomly BSODs, but less often than CTD used to happen. I'm thinking less safety limits maybe?

darn, that hotfix didn´t fix the ctd issue.
i keep on crashing again and again.
and i won´t change computers. i bought this i7 16gb ram with gtx680 4gb ram specificly for ps2 and now i can´t even play because i am crashing more often than i was during beta!
my machine has more ressources than ps2 can use, so what is the problem?
i even tried to go back to high texture quality instead of ultra, no change.
sucks the most, when you just traveled a long way ingame to get to a fight, then crash and restart at warpgate.
or when you just switched to max to shoot down aircrafts that are attacking your sunderer. crash, max gone, ressources gone, cooldowntimers active, sunderer killed by aircraft and missed the end of alert xp. wow, that´s fun!
