Had spinning drop pods today, so I guess it's a future change?

Honestly, I like the spinning drop pods. Each drop feels like a little mini game to try and inch yourself closer to where you want to land.

I assume the point of spinning is to prevent people from choosing to land in good vantage points?

Using your brain and using features to advance your position in ways others don't consider is OP and absolutely not allowed now?

I mean, I guess when I started dropping on top of towers and murdering people in beta, and then some people took it further by using the top of the biolab, it was going to catch on...

If they wanted to do that they would just remove the ability to influence where you land. I would be extremely surprised if the spinning wasn't a bug. Unfortunately, like the vehicle shake, I assume it's something they can't hotfix.

Are you making a funny or do you really think people learned that from you?

I thought I was pretty cool back in beta when I realized I could snipe from the inside of the bio dome top. And then I realized that everyone had thought of it - because it was obvious.

On the plus side if it stays in the game defenders will stop looking up as much soit will help players who use other means of getting in location.

Today my pod spinned much less them ever, maybe just two complete circles.

Strange. I'm no longer spinning on squad deploy. Didn't check instant action or beacon. Maybe I'm the bugged one:lol:

Finally. The sooner they are out, the better. The first time I saw them, it seriously made my head spin. No exaggeration. I used to go to map view until it stopped spinning. Now it has become a little bearable over time, but would still like to have it disappear forever.

yesterday i still had spinningpods all day. and not only 1-2 rounds. excessive funfair ride everytime.

it needs to be worked on. either stop the spinning, or change the deconstruction of the pod to leave a giant splash of vomit on the ground. because i am sure most players would totaly cover the interior of the pod in puke if it did the spin like this.

I thought it was neat, added a realism to it and made you concentrate to bring this flaming, hurtling chunk of metal under control. Sure it was "annoying" to people who like everything straightforward and simple, but I welcomed the change.

I have to agree I like them its a bit more interesting although if you get a reaver/mossie kill in a spinning one you have mad skillz :)

I can live with it. Although drop podding libs is much harder now :)

being able to use the droppod as a weapon to drop on enemies would be fun, but it is of no use right now.

not because of the spinning, but because i never know if i´m dropping on a friend or an enemy. with all that neutral color camos around and no option to use spotting from the droppod it is nothing more than a cutscene with the illusion of gameplay.

I like the spinning, I hope they leave it in. It's a cool visual effect and it feels like ive gotta get the pod under control.

WOAH! You invented drop podding on top of towers? Man, I'm a big fan!

Sometimes my pod spins and other times it doesn't.

I suspect that it might be related to whether you're dropping into friendly or enemy territory, or perhaps how heavily-contested it is. I'd have to do some more experimenting to verify this.

Also the vehicle damage isn't of use either. Iv landed on just about everything and the pod maybe killed an enemy 1-3 times and killed me many times. Iv landed on parked EFSs getting repaired and watched them fly off without smoking while I was figuring my bearings.

I have to avoid sharp angles, gals, libs, base turrets, and even flying ESFs or I end up getting killed without hurting them any that I know.

Well I've only had a spinning drop pod once, maybe twice, and I LOVE it.! It brings a new asthetic to the gameplay. I've run into people who use it to get an overhead view of enemy armour and/or air as well as infantry, and the spinning just makes it impossible to do. But then again, I never get a spinning drop pod. xD

I agree..spinning drop pos make it more realistic..only thing is I find it easy for me to control like the old drop pods that don't spin.

talking about realism... i am always spawning without a droppod, start falling and then the spinning droppod appears around me. kills all immersion.

and i hate that the droppod damage is gone! during beta you could smash enemy vehicles, soldiers and aircrafts with the pods, and higby even promoted this as a cool feature! so why has this been reverted? now i always die when i hit anything with my droppod, while my victim flys away totally undamaged. this sucks hard!

Well there are always people that think it's against the rules for others to win and if it's not in the rules the rules have to be changed in there favor.

But re: spinning drop pods.

If you have a decent computer it's not a big deal. The changes have not made it harder for me to drop pot spot onto of the sundy roof tops to plant C4. But I have heard in VOIP that some members of our outfit gets a bit too mush of an FPS drop that takes it hard for them to get any control of the decent.
