Hello all,

Alright, so recently I purchased a new Asus Essentio computer to upgrade from my five year old HP Pavilion Slimline computer. I fired it up, and downloaded PS2 (one of the big reasons I purchased it was to get better PS2 performance). But, upon entering the game I found that there really wasn't any improvement. Before, I was cpu bound, and ranging from 30-15 in the warpgate; 10-1 in battles. Now I am cpu and gpu bound ranging from 30-15 in the warpgate; 15-9 in battles.

The new computer's specifications:
Quad-Core Intel i5-3350P @3.10GHz
AMD Radeon 7470
6.00 GB stock RAM
Windows 8 64bit

Older computer's specifications:
Dual-Core Intel Pentium E5300 Wolfdale 2.6GHz
AMD Radeon 6670
4.00 GB stock RAM
Windows 7 64bit

I didn't expect to be able to run the game on Ultra at 60 frames after only paying $600, but I did expect to at least run on medium-low with a solid 30 fps.

Any advice is much appreciated,

Thank you.

Not exactly sure what you were expecting. The CPU is good, but the GPU is awful even worse than your older one. That is why you are experiencing such bad performance. Your only real option IMO is to put in a new gpu like a 7750 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131481). Also a system like this iBUYPOWER (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227476)for a similar price would of been far more suited towards gaming.
