I have begun to notice the extreme pessimism in posts by our members on anything related to new content or state of the game. There is literally no joy to be found nor any silver lining to look forward too. The only reason most of us still log on is because of the people we play with.
Just want to know whether the same things happening with you guys as well ?

DVS has mainly been trying to make things better. A good bit of bitching if normal but mostly things like how to get use out of a class/vehicle, when OPs are going to happen, our MLG requirements, showing off videos, and what not.
Though the site is going through some reworking and changes every few days. For some reason it's a god awful purple now that looks kinda odd. Looks like a VS website to be honest.

There's always a core base of enthusiasts. On top of that you have people who come and go. You've got ups and downs but nothing too overly negative though.

The sky is falling, dev bias and funny videos is about it mostly.

Yea now most of the fun we have is events on the test server, we still fight but without any real purpose it's just for cert grinding in the hopes that all these certs will pay off when the game finally hits it's stride.

We have a representative of the developers thought police on our forums.
His name is Basti.
With an in house cheerleader and constant pep talking it's very hard not to fall in love with the game.
Jokes, aside. PS1 Veteran disillusionment remains consistent - they are active in the community and waiting on a continental metagame.
We have the usual moans about imbalance and op - funnily enough it's usually the other empires equipment that falls into that category.
Mostly we just get on with playing the game.
Nothing else like it - 48 man platoons and hundreds if not thousands on your team.

It's fine but it doesn't take much scratching beneath the surface to see that people are fully aware of the problems but are just not talking about it much.

Sadly enough, the majority of our posts are about other games.

Planetside 2 just doesn't grab us as Planetside 1 did. Planetside 2 is like the quick fix farming simulator. PS1 would've have us hooked for days/weeks/months.... like in 1 you could do strategic behind lines warfare with back hacking and cutting off benefits/ drains.
Still play PS2 just needed to take a little break from it. New content is just too slow. This game needed to be released with intercontental warfare with at least 5 conts.

Ours is all about server transfer options atm, maybe to China if possible.
That way we wouldn't see too much of a difference. ;)

Game is getting stale, the new additions to the game are not all that exciting for players who have been here since the beginning. I'm sure when Hossin finally releases people will be back at it. For me the main thing is the sense of doing the same thing every day with very basic strategies. Different locations, but in the end it's really the same battle every day as terrain makes very minimal differences in game play experience imo.

Outfit forums are pretty dead. There's only about 3 or 4 active players left in our outfit and even those people are wondering why they are still logging on when the game has so little to offer compared to PS1. The majority of the outfit is taking an indefinite break and waiting for the actual game to start.

same with my outfit.
the only thing that is happening in the forums are members announcing that they are leaving the outfit because there is no fun in ps2 for smaller outfits and when they play, they only play for short sessions where solo play is even better than outfit play.
we are a small outfit, and we are only about planetside. so it is no surprise that people leave the outfit if they don´t like the game.
we had years of fun in ps1, but ps2 just can´t keep up. sad but true.

Even though our guys are primarily infantry they have been enjoying update 11. Though we may bitch on comms from time to time I think most of us still hope for the future pf PS2.

We use IRC as our primary comms channel and, as such, don't maintain a forum. We started with 2 in beta and now maintain 25, of which 20 are in regular communication and participate in at least one ops night a month. Standard weekly Op turn out is 12-16. Our BR spread is from the teens to the fifties seventies.
We're annoyed with the constant nerf/buff cycle, and by the general tone in the other communications mediums available, but are otherwise very enthusiastic about the game and playing with each other. We have a bot that tracks our server presence (both mains and alts) and keeps us in the loop on twitter happenings from the devs and other interesting parties. We frequently drink.
In short, our "clan forum" is a pleasure to be in. :) Feel free to swing by for a different, slightly less serious take on things.

Not much negativity on our forums to be honest. We most definatelly would like to see more depth to the game (since beta actually), but we are still going strong with regular ops nights.
Our PS2 thread has slowed down quite a bit, a lot of people were expecting more from PS2, they were a little dissapointed but the PS2 thread gets a couple of updates here and there. Currently the BF4 thread is alive with vids and chat, I think when it gets release a lot of guys are going to do some BF4 while PS2 gets its stuff together. Exept me though Ill be the lonely guy riding in the sundy, with the rust stains on the side and the flat tire mounted on the back. :D

We are dealing with our standard summer participation problems. Overall though, things are smooth.

Generally upbeat about the direction the game is taking I.E it looks like some end game is coming. Sad that it is taking so long :P
As a player on Briggs I'm kind of waiting/hoping for a server merge with Connery for pop, even though I lose some latency advantages.

We are cosy and warm just like the past 11 years, we are a multigaming outfit and always have been. We discuss all things ps2 but mostly we bitch and moan on TS only to a certain point if the injustice of the vulcan/striker or fracture are getting too much people go play borderlands2/arma3/dayz or whatever to chill out. If we have 6 guys on or 24 we do what ever we please to have fun.

Would that be because TEST is being station camped to hell and gone by Goons in EVE as well? I guess being their lap dogs for so long isnt quite working out as expected.

Negativity is about the same as always. Many of us who still play the game also critisize it a lot inside our forums. And there is plently to be annoyed by in this game. But currently there is nothing else to play that resembles PS2 in any shape or form. Of course PS2 can also be fun, but it can also be highly frustrating.
Luckily (maybe more for the game then for us) there also is nothing on the horizon to challenge PS2 within the next years besides arena shooters (although BF4 still might gives us a big hit in terms of active members). If there would be an "alternative" I doubt we would stil be as active as were are.
That and the bunch of fun people in the outfit is what keeps us together. Without the first there is a good chance we would be playing something else, without the second we wouldn't exists any more. So it's more of an achievement on our members side then on SOE that we are still playing. And I think it starts to show more and more with every month. If some of our more "prominent" people in our outfit would quit, we would have a serious problem.
/imho currently the outfits hold this game together, sadly not/less the game itself.
