Talking about various plans that are currently in the concept stage.
Infiltrator Updates:
Decoy Grenades, will create fake radar blips.
Stalker Cloak, will recharge when standing still but decrease when running/moving. Must give up your weapon in order to use.
Motion Sensor - will detect enemies in a radius around it.
New Suit Slot - will show explosives on your HUD through walls.
Strait Pull Bolt Action - zoom/fire and reload your gun not leaving your scope.
Recon Drone - bringing back the REK to deploy. Drone will fly in the air and you will be able to switch to its view. Still very much a concept looking for feedback!

Giving up weapon is too much for stalker cloak. It should have not lost charge while standing still to begin with as basic functionality.

It's all still on paper for their infil rework. 'Spawn Beacon' style motion sensor. Similar to Planetside style CE motion sensor. Maybe add a beeping noise? Etc.
New suit slot will show explosive through walls. Infiltrators on point!
Next class after infil to get reworked: Medic (probably)

Would be fucking sweet if Infiltrators had some sort of "EMP Jammer" device which basically shuts down missile lock-ons, radar and spawn beacons within a certain radius.
To balance, the location of the jammer could be seen on the minimap, and it could have a "deploy bubble" restriction ala the sundy, so multiple jammers can't be placed within the same area.

Here are the notes I took:
Most of the things listed are in early design. Details haven't been hashed out and everything is subject to change.
Infiltrator
Decoy grenades are being made more useful.
New ability: Stalker Cloak. Bar drains while moving, fills while standing still. No primary weapon is allowed to be equipped. No final decision on visibility of stealth while moving or stationary.
Motion sensor: A placed object like a spawn beacon. Unlike the recon tool which pulses, the motion sensor will continuously display movement. After a certain amount(couple of minutes) of time, the motion sensor will show up on enemy's minimap so they can hunt it down.
New suit slot: Shows explosives(c4, mines, tank mines, etc.) on HUD through walls.
Vehicle hacking: A lot of code support and art support to do at this point. Been talked about a lot, but not willing to invest time on implementation right now.
Bolt action attachment slot: Straight pullback attachment for bolt-action sniper rifles, allowing a second shot without scoping out. Will have a downside, but not finalized yet. Which slot it goes in to has not finalized yet.
Recon Drone: REK making a return. Infiltrator places drone, gets a camera to control like a phoenix. Can fly the drone around. Drone counted as a vehicle. May have weapons, may just be used for spotting. Once spotted by enemy, easily shot down. Will have a range limit, time limit or deploy limitations(ex. not in spawn rooms).
New infiltrator weapon(s). Not sure what yet, but more weapons will come. NS sniper rifle a possibility.
Sunderer
Different sunderer deploy types: Dome shields, aoe cloak, pre-equipped gun ports for passengers to shoot out of, radar. Situation specific stuff.
Looking for more ideas, send them to roadmap/twitter/etc.

UI hit direction feedback improvement
Want to make Air to Air what pilots want to do. Ex. EXP rewards and more engaging gameplay through better A2A weapons
Random stuff
Medic update will be the next class after Infiltrator.
Want to have more inter-class play and reliance between classes, like MAXes and Engineer.

No vehicle hacking makes me a sad panda. :(
That and stalker cloak were definitely the infiltrator additions I was looking the most forward to, or atleast hoping for. The rest sound "okay-ish", but not really sold on them to be perfectly honest. Decoy grenade is a fix of what it should've already do, and the recon drone sounds like something from battlefield.
The sunderer changes sound pretty cool though.

Medics are plenty useful and seem fine to me...But then, maybe they're next up because they're easier to do a pass on.

LOVE the recon drone idea. Has to be severely controlled though. Distance duration, time duration, no weapons, and no self destruct.
Also love the Stalker cloak obviously, who wouldn't
I love the Motion Sensor too, it does bring up debates of too much radar detection with no counter other then the Infil suit, but I like radar detection and foolery being Infil specific

If the stalker cloak gets in I might actually spend time on the infiltrator. HOWEVER, the cloak must make you completely invisible when standing still. The whole point of the stalker cloak is deep infiltration.

I assume you mean TR carbines? Yeah, the recoil is ridiculous, and we dont even have a competitor to the other factions' high ROF carbines, much less a faster one.

It comes across as being negative because this has been on the roadmap for five months so far, its due in August and this is the best they can come up with?
Read the Roadmap thread, there has been a heap of creative ideas presented.
They dont even discuss any of the ideas presented.
Because these lack lustre ideas were already decided on months ago.

As I said, Decoy Nades is just a bug fix.
Cloaks overall need fixing so they are consistent for all settings, low/med/high/ultra.
Motion Sensor will either take the slot of the recon tool or replace your prox mines.
Why would I wear a suit that shows explosives over a suit that gives me 250 more HP?
Straight Pull Bolt Action - Another addition that you will only get to use if you give up something else.
Recon Drone - IF it ever makes it in, after all this time its still a concept.
I'll be positive when we know what is in for sure, probably around September.
But atm this concept list does nothing for me considering how long its been on the almighty Roadmap.
If you happily accept mediocrity, you'll be feed mediocrity.
We all know they can do better than this token pass.

I don't understand why they choose the medic for the next overhaul. If there's any class that doesn't need fixing, it's the medic as their importance already got a huge boost in GU11.
If anything, light assault should be highest on their priority list for an overhaul.

The TR have more high fire rate weapons than any other faction, the fastest fireing weapon in the game (one of the SMGs) and pretty sure they have the fastest, LMG aswell. The only cathegory where another faction has a gun with a higher ROF than ther highest are assault rifles.

Most of my infiltrator kills are from laying Prox/BB/claymores, if they could see them before they went running up a staircase or blind corner then it will increase their survivability in towers and bases.

TR generally have the largest magazines which I enjoy.

One of the main reasons i quit Battleflop3 a long time ago was because of how easy it was to snipe with a strait pull bolt which led to snipers being spammed left and right,I feel like this is an attempt to cater to the COD and BF3 players and i'm gonna fucking shit a brick if infantry combat in PS2 turns into a sniper fest where the only way to live is to spam ADADADAD until your keys melt.

It already is like that, playing as a sniper is difficult enough. Having to put three HIGH POWERED sniper rounds into a heavy assault to kill it with a bolt action is ridiculous. Sitting in the shadows waiting for someone to stand still is boring as hell. I honest to god sniped a medic 5 times, and his ability to heal and fast shield recharge meant a tank had to kill him. 5 effing rounds!
These arnt particularly huge issues, but lethality of a sniper trying to hit a moving target, with twitchy fast unpredictable movement animations. And the general fact that standing still doesnt give you and substantial recoil bonus. Means sniping can be hell, and its the only reason i play PS2.
I dont think that sniping boosts have to be game breaking, i would happily give up my cloak if i could have longer steady aim, and the none zoom out bolt action.
The recon droid i think would work better if you can just deploy it in an area and it auto spots enemies for you within a certain radius. And it can be shot down by enemy troops.

I know that's the easiest way to get kills, and its partly how i got my auraxium medal for my parallax.
But my point is, you shouldnt be begging for kills when you have the most powerful anti infantry rifle in the game. Having to put three bullets in an heavy assault, or 1 head shot is asking for alot more skill on your part particularly when hes coming at you with a high fire rate gun, and getting one bullet in you drops your shield.

If there were trenches and cover ala Red Orchestra 2, it might be more reasonable to include something near one-shot kills for snipers. There's so little valuable cover in PS2 that I get the feeling it'd just be lame. But hey, why not 'bump' the damage a bit during a patch to find out!? :D

Wow much bigger then I anticipated. That big and it could become a weapons platform. Depends on the utility options or variations of.
If it was simply sentry oriented, why not a simple disc design instead of that clunky tri positional hover design. Would make spotting it harder.

Give it a 360 degree spotting radius that sends a warning beep that increases frequency as an enemy gets closer so it can be useful while looking downscope when the infiltrator is most vulnerable.
For the one shown above, give it guided camera view but what would be neat is the ability to share its viewing with squad mates like a PIP.
Edit; Also, allow it to maintain a hover position even without hands on the stick, that would provide the infiltrator with a constant view on your HUD. You could keep eyes on a doorway or building while moving toward it through cover. Once again, having the ability to share this with squad mates would be fantastic for overwatch duty.

- one-man piloted. No weapons system. Perhaps consider letting it drop Motion Sensors, Mines, Proximity mines,...
RECON DRONE shows enemy & friendly to your Empire. Your drone covers (Via Cert Tree) a radius of; 20m/40m/60m/80m/100m. This drone information goes to ALL Outfit (or Squad) members wherever they are on the Continent. Recone Drone sighting(s) goes out to ALL Empire Friendles in a 750m radius. Flying Range of Recon Drone varies based on weather, lighting, day/night, enemy fire or countermeasures,.... efffectively controlled by R/C pilot at ranges up to 600-750m ..... sometimes, if you are on high ground, you can approach close to 1,000m search (and return) ranges.
ASSAULT DRONE;
2-man operated. One flies the drone, the other operates the weapons system. Choice of any 2ndary unit off of vehicle pool, or any primary weapon off of Lightning.
Three Cert classes of ASSAULT DRONE; Stealth, Armored, Attack. The weapon platform allowed increases for each class, but your ability to avoid enemy detection or fire greatly diminish. Attack" Drone is only Cert Tree which can use Lightning weapons. Imagine a Skyguard Drone hovering at 700m altitude. hmmmmmm.....

The galaxies coming with repair/ammo abilities make me wish there was a map that had large floating islands with capture points so that the vast majority of the vehicle combat is air based.. using the galaxies for transport, repair and ammo supplies.. making them crucial to protect when advancing while having the bases be focused on infantry combat that is indoors taking over large floating facilities.

Woot, I don't know if I had anything to do with it but I suggested to T-Ray and Higby on multiple occasions that we should get a NS-fighter plane that was like the Banshee from SC2. Here's hoping they make a manned aircraft with the turbine fan blades in the future.

I also suggested they use that concept of turbine fan blade engines for the NS Phantasm. Every time I've suggested the Phantasm though, they come back with "What use would that be on the battlefield?". When ever I explain what use it would be, they never respond though. Would be a great tool to use for small tactical black ops missions to get behind enemy lines and sabotage stuff or set up ambushes. The Galaxy is a huge ass target that you can see from across the map. The Phantasm would be just like it was in PS1, can only seat 1 pilot and 4 passengers, no armaments, and a cloaking device.

It definitely would fit well with the hover nature of aircraft in Planetside.
The only problem I see is that all of Planetside's aircraft have used engines rather than fanblades for propulsion (lore-based issue).
