Are you coming out to SOE Live? Want to attend a community panel featuring topics picked by YOU the community? You're in luck! PlanetSide Universe has worked with SOE to create a player panel organized by Hamma, Jennyboo and the team from ReachCast Show. It will feature Developers including Matt Higby and several more!
What topics do you want covered by the panel? Hit up the comment thread and let us know. The most popular topics will be chosen and talked about during the panel and you have until July 12th to submit topic, after that we will begin collecting questions about those topics.
But that's not all! Those who register through PSU will gain the first access to an exclusive PlanetSide Universe Decal! Registering will allow us to keep track of how many people are registered and possibly front row seating during the panel.

What kind of questions can be fielded by the panel? I mean just: "Questions for the panel" is kind of vague. Is there some sort of limit on what and how indepth the questions can be? Is there a time limit on the Answer? How general or how specific? Are there any topics that are forbidden?

It will be a pretty open discussion overall, we are building a framework for that.

Well one thing people have been requesting to death, is a general idea of where the game will be in 6 months. Yes the roadmap is there, but what people seem to want on PS2 forums, is to hear: "By December we will have A and B which are devoted to C, and organized around figuring out problem D". Just a general picture of where the game is now, where they want it to be by years end, and where it will be in 2 years, 3, years, and beyond; and the biggest thing is: Why. Why do they want to go in whatever direction. Things I keep reading people throw out is: "Where do they (SOE) want the game to go, what is their objective, what is their vision for the game"
That is the big one that immediately pops to mind. I'll mull it over some more.

Long term plans:
-Intercontinental naval combat?
-Space based objectives and exoatmospheric fighters and transports?
How many continents are needed to make continent locking viable, and what's the ETA?
Outfit points - are they in the works, and what are some of the things they might be used for?

Here are some questions that have been on my mind for a while:
Where do you intend for each class to go in terms of its role, and will you eventually give an in-game description of classes to aid peoples' choices?
Is each class intended to have a separate support and combat role? In other words, is the medic supposed to be a full-support class, or are you intending to give it a more anti-infantry centric combat role along with its medical support role?
And, most importantly, how much flexibility do you intend to give us with classes? To what point are you willing to allow us to tailor each class to our liking and our playstyle?

One topic I'd think would be a cool discussion on would be about the past/future of the combined-arms aspect of the game.
At release of course everything was designed so that all areas were accessible - I assume from a desire to prevent vehicle from becoming useless once a base was breached like PS1. That didn't work out, and right now it seems as though everyone wants sphere's where only same types primarily interact (ie, infantry want to fight infantry, air wants to fight air, tanks want to fight tanks). I'd be really curious to hear what the feelings are around that, how to weigh that against the slippery-slope of just having 3 different PS2 modes, etc.
I'd also love to hear if they have any further work or thought into weather in PS2. Even if precipitation is a long way off, a cloudy night with flashes of lightning illumination would be badass. Client-side wind simulation on fauna?
And sort of related to their upcoming ESF work - since it was primarily based around nosegun + rocketpods being easy jack-of-all-trades answer, are other vehicles and infantry classes being looked at for the same situations? Like for sake of argument, is it that Inf is undesirable, or more just that others like HA are just too versatile to pass up?

Ok, i just ordered my Shirt! ;) Even if i am not able to fly over to the US for the SOE Live this year. I plan to be there next year, so i do have a nice shirt to wear! ;)
I would love to see you guys this year, but 8819,508 kilometers (5480mi 331.20yd) are just too much.

Not really sure what kind of topics can be discussed on a panel like this.
Possible new vehicles.
Examples: What roles have yet to be filled and/or which can be added on to?
How has F2P played into balancing and what has been learned.
Examples: Homogeneous weapon performance/design, possible difficulties designing truly unique weapons (Having numerous variants of a specific design) etc.
Planetside 2 the MMORPG.
Examples: Should the game become more of a roleplaying game? What kind of roleplaying elemets could/should be added? Does the game feel authentic/immersive enough?
More varied objective based gameplay.
Examples: Phased objectives, for example having to first take out one objective in the open to gain entry to a [Saurva] fortress like base that then would lead to infantry only last objective underground/inside a very big building.

Just to keep the ball rolling: The Planetside dev team is known (legendary may be a better term for it) for their community involvement. What, if anything, should the community as a whole do to help reciprocate the affection?
How can we help you make a better community?
NOTE: Hamma, I'm just assuming (without double checking) that you're on the panel. This'll be a question geared for you as well.
Beyond that, A topic I have would be the role of small squad. Specifically, what, if anything can be done to foster small squad gameplay?
Terrible topics I'm sure but it's better than staring at each other for an hour.

Can't make it to SOE Live, but some topics that I'd like covered.
Night fighting:
Will darker nights make a return?
Are there any plans to change flare guns, such as making their explosions hurt aircraft or extending the brightness time?
Do you have flashlight rail attachments on any of your loadouts? If so, how do you use it?
Bases and Map Stuff:
Are the upcoming dome shields going to be permanent? Or can they be brought down like other shields?
Are there any plans to add additional base utilities after dome shields, such as radar towers or no-deploy jammers, and will attackers be able to destroy them?
Are there any plans to add additional tunnel or cave systems to the map, either as hidden passes or as bases?
Will there be new hazards planned for upcoming continents, like pools of acid or lava?
Are there any plans to add additional water features to the continents, such as rivers, streams, waterfalls, or geysers?
Has there been any discussion about having the continents experience seasons at some point? For example, a snow-covered Indar or a defrosted Esamir?
Teamwork Questions:
Are there any plans to implement larger combat teams, such as companies?
Can you give us an update on how the player generated mission systems are coming along?
Currently, squad leaders can set control points as priority targets by holding the q button. Will this ability be extended to other objects, such as vehicles, shield generators, or SCU's?
Squad leaders put down squad beacons. Will platoon leaders be able to set platoon beacons?
Squad beacons used to be purchased like grenades. With additional changes to the resource system coming up, will purchasable squad beacons make a comeback?
There are currently squad leader certifications. Will there be an additional tier for platoon leaders, and if so, what kind of certifications can we expect to see there?
Are there any plans to create Faction Commanders for an entire server?
It is often hard to find players willing to take the lead. Are there any plans to add XP incentives for leading?
Cosmetics:
TR recently had a special day, during which special hats were unveiled for TR players to purchase. When the NC have their own day, will Higby hair be available for purchase?
Will there be Planetside 1 style skins added to the game?
Currently, character skins and voices are very limited. Will there be additional skins and voices added soon, and if so, how would the players go about changing them?

3 year plan for the game... That's my big suggestion for a topic.
Resource System: What is it, when can we expect to see it, how will it benefit the players, how will it change the game world.
Those are my 2 suggestions.

They have players studio in other games, essentially a way for players to create and monetize content for the game. The panel probalby just got moved :)
