You can get either a 40% discount or an extra 1,000SC for any $15 prepaid cards.

So for those that had a bunch of Wal-mart cards in wait, you won't get the 4,000SC like in a 2X sale. Instead they should give 3,000SC. Still a better deal than paying online by 500SC for the same $15 cost.

(edit)
The 1,000SC for cards in on the 4th ONLY (12am PST - 11:59pm PST). You have 24 hours to turn them in or loose the extra SC.

Waited this long, I can wait some more.

I blame China.

I bought some, it's better than no sale!

Yeah, I was hopping for a 3x, could be happy with a 2x.
It breaks my wallet, but I will buy 5.000 SC with 40% off. I would buy 10.000 with 2x.

So is the Extra 1000 SC for Walmart Cards is on top of the regular extra 500SC from walmart cards.

So therefore is 1500 extra SC?....or is it just Extra 1000SC with regular extra 500SC included?

Are they ever going to do 3x again?

The Wallmart by me only sells 1000sc cards, not the 1500. Is there any benefit?

Wal-mart cards should give 3,000SC.

1,500 for the $15
500 for the Wal-mart promo
1,000 for the 4th deal as it is a $15 card.

It is "technically" 2X SC for just those cards. A better deal than online in any case as $15 online or in-game gives 2,500SC.

But SOE just had to make this event confusing for some fucking reason. No reason to have 2 sets of rules on crap like this. I thank them for the events but why must it be confusing when, to my limited SOE knowledge, every other event has been a flat 2X or 3X for everything or just a single payment option being changed.

(edit)
Badjuju-

The adds states $15 (1,500) cards only. $10 (1,000SC) and any other amount cards most likely will not get jack. The only reason I see for that only $15 cards get the deal is that an extra 1,000SC for $15 cards fits into the 40% discount. So any other card ($5, $10, $20, ect) is up shit creek if it's looking for a deal on the 4th. Only $15.

Yet again, why confuse this one so much?

If it were a 2x SC day then those cards would be worth 4000 SC instead of 3000 SC since the 500 bonus SC would also double. I cashed in 2 of those cards the last time there was a 3x sale and got 12000 SC for $30.

I'm pretty bummed since I have been saving several of those up hoping for a triple or at least a double sale :(. I'll probably cash a couple in for now and save the rest for later.

Guess we're used to bigger sales, but I am underwhelmed with this.
My money's staying where it is for now.
Double XP is nice though.

W00t, another US-only promo. Thanks for that SOE.

Was hoping for a proper sale, as I'm pretty much out of SC, but I guess I'll wait then.

It's a pile of marketing crap. Consistency is one of the things that builds trust.
Moving it to 40% makes you feel like they want to use us as marketing lab rats to see what threshold causes us to open up our wallets.

They're not getting my money on this round and I highly suggest for players to do the same because if you do, 2x/3x SC will definitely become a day of the past.

The SC prices of their weapons and cosmetics are already ridiculous, especially compared to other games, so we need these 2x/3x days to give us a legitimate reason to spend money on this game. Why oh why are they too stupid to see that?

just no pleasing some people, picked myself up some cheap SC and am happy. Though I do think if they have it from the US they should have it for the pro-sieben accounts too, not very fair.

Yea I was going to stock up on sc but I guess not. I refuse to by sc at regular price with how expensive cosmetic items are so I was really looking forward to this. Ill have to return all the cards I got from wall mart since the 1000sc cards are useless.

Pretty much this. I was ready yesterday, if they did a 2x station cash day, to buy some and get the stupid flare guns and probably the vehicle patriot camo because it would look pretty awesome on my reaver. But this deal seems weak and I'm not going to get squeezed by their marketing games. It looks like the SC I'm saving for the black crystallized camo is the last SC I'm ever going to spend on this game until they come out with another 3x station cash day. I'm penalizing them for this, I'm not settling for a future 2x day like I was ready this Fourth. Its 3x or they don't get my money. Maybe X-Mas 2013, if I'm even still playing.

If the negative reaction to this results in SoE never doing another sale again I would laugh my head off. It's highly unlikely, but it would be amusing.

so guys, many of the people discussing here have already achieved decent brs (meaning somewhere above 50 or 60). is there anything you'd like to have available for sc that you don't already own?

i myself am around 60 right now and have absolutely no idea what i could get from any further sc-investments that would profit my gameplay. in the beginning, i bought a couple of decent weapons for the classes i like to play. then a few vehicle weapons.
then some camos. so i ordered the purchases in regards of the usefulness of the items, with the last ones beeing purely cosmetical (and they surely caused a light case of buyer's remorse^^).

all together, i may have spent 5-6k sc and cannot see any reason to get more sc, there is simply nothing worth getting anymore.

so i'm wondering how you handle your sc/depot purchases. do you buy all available weapons for your favourite classes (even if they are fairly similar to each other), do you buy a lot of camos and helmets or have you paced yourself so far and thus have not gotten all the "basic" stuff i've already bought? or do you consider other items to be more valuable?

I fulfil your profile and I was saving my money for cosmetics, especially the black crystallize camo, which will be our standard issue BRTD outfit camo. No way I'm going to pay for it without 2x/3x SC days though, so this is the part where SOE screwed up, using us as marketing lab rats.

I'm pretty much only buying cosmetic items now.
I have SC in reserve if something pops up that I like.
I got over spending too much SC on weapons when they started to "balance" items after I'd purchased them so I dont bother wasting SC on them now.
They dont change cosmetic stuff too much so I know my purchase should remain the same as the day I bought it.

I ordered a PSU Tee shirt instead of SC...

Figured it would last longer

What would be intersting to see would be today's sales numbers compared to 2x and 3x sales. I bet that a lot of people that would have bought SC today, if it were a normal sale, didn't.

When I buy SC, it's for myself and my 2 sons. We all have VS and TR characters. I try to get the most out of my SC purchases because it has to go around between the three of us. I buy weapons and cosmetics here and there but there is tons of stuff that I still don't have.

I also try to have plenty of SC on hand for stuff like heroic boosts and new things and stuff.

Was going to buy some assuming it was a triple smedbux event. Spent $50 the last time they had that. Spent $0 today.

Pretty sure that SOE realized PS2 generates more income than Free Realm, DC Universe or any other of their Free to Play games. The x3 days were nice, but I don't think they will return... maybe 1 for SOE Live, but if they don't do it for SOE Live it probably won't happen again. We got spoiled last year with multiple sale days close together... SOE wasn't used to people wanting to spend so much on their games.

It makes sense that they decided to allow $15 cards to have an extra 1000sc for the sale... it was basically x2 SC for walmart cards (if you look at $ amount compared to SC received) which a lot of people must be buying because a couple walmarts around me in Dallas were completely sold out. I had to go way north of Dallas to find a walmart with any. I bought them before any of the annoucements because I was waiting for a sale... like many others. I ended up using both cards on the 4th. 1 for me and 1 for my son. He spent the 3000sc super quick and I decided to get another on for him. I went back to that same Walmart and the huge stack of like 40+ cards just 3 days before was down to 5-6 left on the 4th. So even the one place I found outside of Dallas was selling a lot of cards.

SOE probably realized they were getting screwed by Walmart cards... $15 for 2000sc on a triple day that is 6000sc for $15. SOE was basically giving away items for less than 1/3 of the price.. even membership sales only sale items for 1/2 off. Then you take in to account all the 60% off bundles that they still have going.... It was still a great deal to me and my son is super happy with his new toys in the game.

If you didn't think it was a good deal then that's your opinion.. just trying to provide a reason why they might have stopped doing it. PS2 is pretty much SOE's cash cow now and they know it. I wouldn't expect to see the same deals continue that we saw last year.

You play this game with your sons? Man that's so frickin' cool! Thumbs up to you mate, you must be the luckiest dad in the world!

Back on topic: I would love to see these sales numbers as well and I really hope this was a good business lesson for them in understanding that you can simply not blatantly use your audience as marketing lab rats to see how much money you can squeeze out of them.

Well dude, sometimes it is not.
On my outfit lots of times a 12 years old kid come to complain we killed his father, that plays with Vanu, but he likes to play with TR. Last time we played, I killed his father 5 times and teabagged him, I forgot it was his daddy, so I did like I do with all Vanu, I haven´t seen him since then.
Another one is a 11 yeas old kid son of another player, because I am the leader, he calls my name each 5 seconds when playing, he drop pod over my liberator three times already, I already told him it won´t have a forth time, I don´t know what his daddy did, but I haven´t seen him since then, and I don´t ask.
The art director of the game have a kid, he is TR for life, like me, but his son plays NC, so he is forced to play with the NC to play with his kid, like most of us he don´t have much time to play, so most time he plays NC because of his son. I really don´t know what I am going to do if my kid decide to play with another faction, I will fell like I failed parenthood.
