Sick of Empire Biasing

Anyone else sick of people already claiming their loyalty to an empire? I mean cmon, not one of us knows which empire were going to be until we test every weapon and every vehicle of every empire to see which one best fits us. Sure the beta testers have a right to tell everyone else their empire rules, because they prefer it. You shouldn't decide that you prefer an empire because of their colors, or the descriptions of the vehicles/weapons.

While that's probably not a bad idea to try stuff out, I can assure you that to say "not one of us knows" is strictly false. Even though it's not an RPG, the story elements can bias an opinion towards one empire. And since it's an FPS, character looks can make a difference. And since it's a MMO, all empires must be balanced so any one will not have an advantage over the others.

It gives people something to do. Here is a brief list of some of things people do to pass the time until beta/release:

- pick their nose
- eat copius amounts of fudge.
- talk/speculate/assume about everything in PS until they can no longer form proper sentences.
- watch CNN
- pick what empire they are going to play in PS.


So as you can see, it just gives them something to talk about on the forums to pass the agonizing waiting time.

I think all three look very cool, and I'll probably play as all three at some point. But I think I'm going to go with the Vanu first because it seems that they will be short-handed, at least in the begining.

The Vanu are not gay because of their collors. They are gay because their too pussy to use a gun with some real recoil and power behind it.

On topic: Backstory and color scheme are perfectly good reasons to choose a side in a game, particularly a MMOG. You're makeing a character, and you can't easaly switch teams like you can in your standard FPS. It's just plain fun to make fun of the Vanu whimps and terran buggs too.

Plus, it is easier to organize an outfit prior to release if you all know what empire you are planing on joining. If you are organized, you can make great gains in the first hours/days of the game.

No real recoil or power, first PS uses CoF, and while you are firing bullets all around us at and amazing rate of fire and with 'Power', you will be pounded repeatadly by LASERS, you hear me LASERS, L-A-S-E-R-S.

One thing i love about people who make fun of the Vanu, you underestimate your enemy, that will be your downfall, as you are laughing at one of my brethern being shot at............ seconds later to know that he was a distraction, while a Bolt-Driver bullet is half way through your foot, no location based damage, and another Vanu yelling and poiting at another "LOOK A DISTRACTION!!!!" it will be caos lasers flying everywere YEAH!

Anyways on topic, you could choose a race just on its colour and backround and the guns, even though you havent played it, most people know what they like.

Lasers shmasers, the only way a low-recoil weapon could be balanced in this game is by makeing it weak. Weak I tell you! Now the Gauss, there is a nice gun. The regular explosive propelant didnt provide adiquite power, so we boosted it with some magnets.

I can choose which side I want to be on by this:

(I am Terran Republic)

1.) I ALWAYS use machine guns, oozies, ect in every single FPS I play, I love to put out massive amounts of bullets at a time. (except for when I get the need to snipe, but thats common pool)

2.) I usually go with the side like the Terran Republic; upholding justice and down with revolt

3.) Vanu is purple :sick:

4.) I've tried shotguns, I'm never good with them unless your horribly lagging

5.) As an added bonus the Terran look cooler

Venoxile, I plan to play each side (one on each us server) with my main one being NC on the US-C server. I have chosen the NC due to their story, and KA weapons (vanguard/phoneix/jackhammer) Also, it is hard to create a new outfit w/o deciding what empire you will be fighting for :p
