Just kill them before they kill you.

Uh yeah pretty sure intentional TKing is worth reporting. That is technicaly harassment. Just dont expect enythign to happen to them if oyu are the only one doing it.

In my experience, reporting (/report and support ticket) these Tkers does practically nothing. The reason why (non-accidental) TK abuse is rampant and out of control is due to lax punishment.

The high level Tkers who kill as they please are especially immune.

I can easily make a list of types of Tker/Grief abusers:

Hack Griefers = Hides underground and blow up your vehicles (especially Sunderers, Flash). Unless you get to your vehicle in time and LET them blow it up, you won't know their name and they can't be reported. On rare occasions they also do it to fixed turrets underground, beyond range or on a aimbotting Liberator.

The only consolation, these out of render range Liberator botters are easy to report. And thank goodness alot of them get banned too, although many has gotten away with Liberator hacking for so long.

Alt Griefers = 4th faction. This is the most common, pervasive and insidious type. They log in to spy, tk and sabotage as they deem fit. They drop mines, grenades, c4 on spawn room/defensible areas/high traffic spots to kill friendly and aid their faction through TK exploit. They also blow up friendly vehicles a lot.

Punk/Troll Griefers = These griefers kill for their amusement. A griefer is riding a tank. There happened to be friendlies right in front. Shoot them for the "lulz". Also this applies to players who deem they are special/important/very high level enough to do as they please. They act like unmitigated gangsters.

Rage Griefers = Newbies projecting their rage unto friendlies. New players who get killed alot get frustrated, shoot friendlies to vent their anger. How do I know these players are newbs? They can't hit you   while trying to TK and if you check their killboard, you'll see stream of "killed by" dotted by friendly TKs. And this happens usually at the spawnroom.

Vengence Griefer = These players TK as an act of vengeance. Some feel an accidental TK was unacceptable and TK as vengeance. However, there are far more 4th faction vengeance griefers who got beat on their main so hard, they log on to their alt to find you and basically get back at you for getting owned so badly.

This happens alot to me. It's the same old log-out, Log-in, vengenge tk, log-out routine. This is easy to tell when you check the killboard and it's plain evident they haven't logged in for days, weeks or even months and they just logged on to that character and the first thing they did on the killboard was kill you

I guess the problem is that griefing is in the game and therefore part of a game, which people pay for. If people pay for the game and want to TK because they think it's fun then so be it, there are measures in the game such as weapon lock to stop them. Thats the problem right there, there is a measure to stop them doing it so the problem is solved as far as soe are concerned. Yeh i know it sucks.

You forgot the Accidental Mother Fucker:

Meatsack 1: Hey, let's footzerg across the path of this armor column.

Meatsack 2: Great idea!

*Baneblade mows Meatsack 1*
*Baneblade mows Meatsack 2*

Meatsack 2: That Mother Fucker TKed us?!

Meatsack 1: I have an idea, let's pull a totally stock Vanguard and go TK him.

Meatsack 2: Great Idea!

*Baneblade kill two Meatsacks in a Tank*

Meatsack 2 -> Baneblade: You Mother Fuckin TKing bitch! Reported!

Baneblade -> Meatsack 2: Self defense.

Meatsack 2 -> Baneblade: Bullfuckshityouranusoverbitchcakes

Baneblade -> Meatsack 2: Accidental

Thus the Accidental Mother Fucker TKer.

I actually didn't think these existed until recently. I have been enlightened.

So avoid skewing the term, "4th faction" players are player that have no dedicated empires (see faction loyalty) and join because the faction has an advantage.

Not griefers that create another character strictly to be an asshole.

Please get it right.

I already got weapon lock twice killing people on vengeance.

It is bad, I know I should not fuel the rage.

But sometimes I can´t avoid it.

I was driving a harasser last week and a retarded pub got in the gunner, I am ok in giving a free ride.

On the way, he shot a friendly prowler, I said, dude, stop that, don´t be retarded!
The prowler shot back, I said, see what you did, we deserved that.
I stop the harasser and got out, the gunner also did that.
The prowler came and blow us up with more shots!
Ok, that was over retaliation, so maybe they are having a bad day, I got it.
Went to saerro listening post, found the prowler there, they were outside, I talked to them, dude, that was overkill, you shouldn't´t blow my harasser just because I got a idiot gunner on it.
They said, fuk you, eat shit and die, and started opening fire.
I run as fast as I could, they started laughting bad.

Placed 2 c4 on the prowler, blow it up, we are even, I lost my harasser, they lost the prowler.
They opened fire on me and killed me.
Ok, now it is personal!
They got lightings, they got me again, I c4 their lightings.
It was a long night of TKs, in the end I got weapon lock.

The dude was:
https://players.planetside2.com/#!/5428085254812894865

He still shots me when he see me playing, his only problem is that I am never alone like I was that day, so it no longer works, my squad just kills him fast.

Today I had to intentionally TK a player called Yussarrian.

I and my friend were defending tawrich, on deploy mode on the road from tawrich tower to the tawrich north base.
Both prowlers with deploys, AP + halberts = Lots and lots of dead lightings and vanguards.
Yussarrian started firing smokes, I could no longer target the vanguards and they started popping out nead my tank in a good number, so I could no longer kill then, with help I manage to kill most of then.
I used local (/re) "stop smoke please", used proximity voice, no way more and more smoke coming, I took a time but I found him firing all that smoke, killed him, too bad the smoke he fired already covered the approx of multiple enemy tanks.
We almost lost tawrich because someone thought it was good to fire smoke on enemy units... I am still mad with him, but tomorrow I will forget it.

I love it when you see an intentional tk you kill the tker and then get abuse for 10 minutes cause he didt manage to kill enough people before he was killed.

I confess. I blew up a friendly sundy today.

I was so irritated that the NC players assaulting Allatum were so awful and lacking any concept of what they were doing... what they were up against... and what would be effective...

I put the whole thing out of its misery by blowing the sundy.

I rationalize it by telling myself they had to be alts that Vanu was using to farm certs... there is no way real NC could be as dumb as these guys were.

.
I've been TK'd repairing a turret after a base flipped ..... happens to me if I'm there 1st, or l arrive to something needing repair 2nd.
I don't care if other guys pile on to repair anything. Especially in a firefight - MORE Engies's on a Sundy or MBT simply means that vehicle is back in the fight sooner.

.....the motives for TK Griefing run the gamut. Guys who use alts to TK (or "spy") either of the 2 empires they aren't loyal to are TOOLS.

Guys who TK you to steal or hog a repair. Guys who blow up your Sundy so they can take the prime spot you got to LONG before they showed up ..... deserve lifetime bans IMHO. These are the lowest of many different dirtbags one may encounter in this game.

Had an accidental TK yesterday while I was running an AI MAX. I was taking down a Dual Hacksaw MAX and a friendly Medic was on the otherside of that MAX. In taking out the Hack MAX I got the Medic also apparently. I had no idea I TK'd him until he re-spawned as Medic came back to the area we were defending and shot me in the back with about 4 to 5 rounds. I whipped around and nearly lit'm up but stayed my fingers when I saw it was a friendly. He stood there staring at me and I get a /tell "fucking asshole!" Then I looked at the chat log and saw I had killed him. I used the Quick Chat "Sorry" and continued on playing as if nothing happened.

Pretty sure if I had not been running a Dual Neb MAX he would of returned the TK favor. I've been accidentally TK'd more times than I like but I just shrug it off every time. Never had someone outright TK me on purpose that I'm aware of.

There are some players who take it all way too seriously and rage even if it's accidental. 99.9% of the time I'm TKed I'll just shrug it off. But then there is the obvious "Jimbob joins the platoon" 2 minutes go by "Jimbob killed you with a C4" moments. I've had this problem on multiple occasions where they will use my public listed platoon to find and TK me or others in the platoon. How I wish there was a "Ban from platoon" option!!!

Perhaps this is something that could be discussed at the PSU SOE Live round table???

Good idea, one game mechanic that is already in there that could be used is the /ignore. Say you're a Platoon or Squad leader or a Squad leader that's part of a Platoon and if a player is on your /ignore list the system won't allow them to join or be invited.
