On the main website, under weapons, the description for the Pheonix is as follows...

Phoenix
Source: New Conglomerate
Handling: Anti-Vehicular Missile
Damage: High
Maximum Range: Long
Refire Rate: Not Applicable

Basically a TOW missile launcher, the New Conglomerate's Phoenix uses wire-guided technology to allow the operator to literally fly the missile into the intended target. At the moment the missile is fired, the operator switches to a camera mounted on the tip of the warhead. While the missile is in flight, the operator can either directly fly the missile through impact, or release the missile, giving up control and causing it go into dumb fire mode.

Now doesn't "TOW" mean, like, fire once and you throw it away? As in it only holds one missle and you have to carry 2 if you want to fire more than one?

In the Fileplanet movie that was just recently moved on to the public servers, the really big DivX one, it shows several instances where the Pheonix is fired then reloaded. Was this not a Pheonix? Did they change it so it's not TOW anymore? Were they using unlimited ammo or something? Thanks!

TOW = wireguided missle

oh and LAW usually is the disposable one, considering the US military acronym jumble.

you have to reload the Phoenix manually after every shot... the TOW refers to being able to manually guide it. The TR AV missile launcher needs to be reloaded after 3 or something.

I personally think it would be cooler if they made it like the real TOW missle launchers. With those, you just keep the RL equivilent of a targeting rectile on the object. If you move the targeting rectile the missle flys off target. I would like that better than the Metla Gear Solid way of doing it. Plus it would make the users of it alot less vulnerable while using it. But, hey, I won't be playing NC so let em be vulnerable! :D

if you ask me, i like the 'nikita' way of doing it. its a fly-by-wire rather than a laser painter gun. that way, if damage zones are added to a vehicle, you have 100% control of the rocket, because all you have to do is aim for your target, rather than worrying about angle of approach 90% of the flight.
