Something similar to this is currently planned for squad missions. The driving idea is to encourage squad members to stay together and to give the squad leader the ability to actually command by moving the bonus around. By having to move the waypoint it also helps the squad leader keep it up-to-date so players in the squad are operating on the latest information and not stale waypoints. The current waypoint would still remain as a way to have rally points or to mark targets. And of course we are looking at making the Q-command wheel better so it's easier for a squad leader to update.
Additional ideas involve the ability to mark a friendly player or vehicle as the squad mission (for escorting or for aircraft/vehicle squads), possibly the squad leader as well as a low-maintenance way of folks staying with their squad leader.

The mission waypoint is also a bit different than the current squad waypoints. You can see the mission waypoint in the Tutorial. It is more visible, has some slight movement and has a buffered screen clamp so it is always in your peripheral vision.

That's just a part of the mission system, not the whole thing, and all of what I just wrote is subject to change of course. Please provide feedback!

Please, please, please implement this. It is incredibly difficult keeping track of a friendly liberator you are trying to escort - especially when attacked by fighters since you often are busy in a duel you absolutely must focus on or die and then it takes far too long trying to reequire the lib you're trying to protect and often times you simply can't find them on the map, minimap or anywhere on your screen....

That has been one feature I have been wishing for months. I hope we're also able to eventually Q-select the circle icons for nearby bases.

Let's get smoke on the Q-wheel, while we're on the topic. Add a mighty throwing animation if you must.

This squad XP bonus is something similar to what PS1 had where the blue waypoint would indicate the averaged out location of a squad (maybe platoon too but I don't remember)? Now sounds like it might be SL place-able now though. What kind of radius are we talking about for the bonus to kick in?

Ye. And it never really worked as intended because it was mostly ignored. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

Q'ing a vehicle and being able to set it as the objective would be huge. If you could also implement multiple squad waypoints along with it, fantastic, with each having a number to go along with it for sequencing of priority or for path of travel you would like everyone to take. Hell, give a minor xp bonus for anyone in the squad that follows it for further incentive. The radius for the bonus squad xp could be difficult depending on how and what the squad is running. Infantry squad, Squad of armor or air, would all require a different size radius or find a happy medium for them all.

Another thing I wish they would add, unless i just missed it in the last patch, is an icon added or differentiated for idenitify types of friendly sunderers on the radar. Would make idenitifying ammo/deployed ams/repair sundies that much quicker and cut down on wasted time.

I would also like to see a flashing of a friendly sundy that is currently under attack on the radar as well. Just like we see generators when they are hacked.
