Finally, time to give the TR more cool skins for the weapons!

All this time and they haven't sorted out international taxing/purchase legalities. Nice.

Otherwise looking forward to new cosmetics on a (hopefully) more regular drip feed.

Maybe not wholly unexpected but certainly disappointing.

IT annoys me greatly, but to be fair, this is EU, we are a law jungle with all those different countrys and EU law on top of it.

They propably just work on the major players atm, means Uk, Germany, France etc, and once the legal crap for them got done, they get added to Player Studio.

I hope to god they hurry up, theres stuff that needs to be sold! :D

I need two things for Vanu....
a Predator-style Dreadlock helmet
and a Steampunk top hat with goggles.
Make these happen and I will throw money at you.

Good ! More memory consomption ... with the lags buffed in GU12 (and still here after GU13) will be nice. Really no irony here... not at all...

Yes all items approved will go to the global depot for purchase.

If this works out its a pretty bad assed addition to this game.

It's annoying for sure to non-US designers. By the time they can submit their designs a lot of stuff has already been done.

On the plus side, we can finally see some kick-ass cosmetics. My only big fear is that this game will turn into a Clownside 2 overnight.

I seriously doubt that it'll be clownside with the approval process so any "it's going to become TF2 bonkers" I'd tentatively say is put to bed. Besides if you look at the Player Studio forums T-Ray posts on there as do mods to some of the previews that haven't got the style right so it's being monitored. I asked T-Ray on Twitter about how often they would be updated/uploaded to the game and he said most likely with the patches and GU's so thats potential cosmetic content every 2 weeks.

As an uneducated guess I imagine we'll see on release items made in house by the designers given permission to sell their work away from the product (T-Ray / Matt Broome etc.) then the coming GU's more will be added as things are submitted from the community.

My station cash is burning a hole in my pocket for this engineer helmet in addition to hopefully seeing Lunaleska get her concepts in game:

im disappointed that they don't allow weapons to be made by players.

at least allow us to submit weapon models for the existing clone weapons. this even saves SOE the effort of redoing them.

Well the problem is that I can't exactly trust T-Ray on this one tbh. He has allowed mediocre, completely out of style cosmetics before (http://www.planetside-universe.com/showthread.php?t=52490) and he is under a lot of pressure from a significant part of the community that wants to see lulz cosmetics and Higby's hair helmets.

Inconsistent design is a franchise (which are insanely expensive nowadays) killer in my book but I know a lot of people think differently about this.

Tried submitting a camo to see how the process works. Turns out I couldn't: US residents only. :(

Rules state you have to submit a greyscale: they fill in the colours (you just provide a sample). :)

Anyone able to successfully submit anything yet? Process fairly smooth?

And do we (the community) ever get to see submissions before they are implemented into the game? (forgive me if this has been answered i'm new to this thing.)

Any bets on how many phallic hood ornament submissions they need to wade through?

Tried to upload the Brazilian urban weapon camo, one of the most bad ass weapon camo on ghost recon future soldier.
I couldn't, I am not a US citizen.
If someone can do it for me, I don't care about the money, I just want my weapon to look awesome!

I know a team mate of mine who got his cool looking Vanu helmet unofficially approved. He's probably not the only one. I bet there's already quite some stuff out there that will likely make it through the final approvals so I wouldn't be surprised if T-Ray could already reveal stuff on SOE Live that will likely make it to the market place soon.

I'll probably submit a camo if I can make it look right. Creating one that looks good with only 3 colors is proving to be difficult. I've been designing in grayscale then using dithering software to convert down to 3 colors and checking tinting. Lot of trial and error with techniques.

It's kind of bothering me that only US citizens can contribute. I do understand it's a mess of work for the legal department at Sony to cover the legal implications of offering the service in other areas of the world. Still, if it was available in the EU at least I'd be happy.

Would be nice If we could get clarification from a dev on that.

Making SOE accounts is free, just choose USA and you can use it.

Not sufficient if you want to use your main account in Europe.

I had an amazing idea for a camo today. And I just finished my first submissions, one each for NS, VS, TR, and NC. The process was pretty easy imo. The idea is the hard part. I really like what I came up with, hopefully you'll find out soon enough :) . It should be fun!

As for foreign submitters, I don't see why they can't "pay" in Station Cash. Then its not like you're getting paid officially and no need for tax documents. Once they figure out how to pay in foreign currencies, or whatever the holdup is, there could be a toggle to pay in actual money if you don't want the Station Cash any more.

Since this is about the Player Studio I might as well link to my stuff: Click (https://forums.station.sony.com/playerstudio/index.php?threads/ps2-sunflower-camouflage.11500058333/).

I highly dislike the 3 color rule, btw. . Of all the patterns I got only about 1/10th actually work well when they get cut down like that.

The rules say 3 tones for camos.

A response on the player studio forums by a mod claims they might accept 4 tones in certain situations.

An example they provide has 6 tones.

*sigh*

Not sufficient if you want to use your main account in Europe.

You play with your europe account but submit items with your USA account. Of course it's only possible if there are no gametime or SC spent on game requirements.

The rules for camo are super-ambiguous. Best to just submit your best version of the camo and let them reject it, as they're supposed to tell you why and then you can re-submit after their feedback. Or they might just accept it. I read on the studio forums that someone submitted a camo with tons of dithering and color shades, and it was accepted. Until they clarify, which probably won't happen until after SoE Live, I'd just assume those are guidelines, because their own samples clearly don't adhere to them.
