So has the above site died, it doesn't seem to have been updated for half a month?

So is it just my character? For me it says the last update was 15th July.
Well, I've emailed the admin so we'll see what happens.

Odd, it says on the main page that characters should be updated every day. Maybe its broken?

That site wasn't all that great to start with seeing how it couldn't filter out anything. Having stats from launch to now isn't bad to have to brag but that data is useless after a single patch that changes a weapon/class stats or adds new weapons/vehicles.
If it is dead then I have to be honest and say that Im a little happy about it. PS2-stats.com was THE biggest argument people use to prove if something is out of balance or not and they almost never questioned the fact that they was using outdated data. Some even don't understand why using old data is a bad idea.
You need to use pure current data to tell if something is out of balance. If you can't remove old data (like in that site) then you can't use any of it. Average stats overtime isn't going to change or show any new trends until weeks or months after a patch and then the stats will still be heavily overwhelmed by the MONTHS of old data you can't filter out.
We need another Cupboy to do what he did and find ways to pull and use only current data. I have lost ALL of my spreadsheets and stats sites but for the weapons wiki that Iv thought decent from outdated data. I can't even find what the resistances for vehicles/MAXes are and what weapon uses what damage type anymore from patches changing things. Did have a spreadsheet telling me just that but it became useless with the Fury change.
Without doing in-game tests we can't know anything anymore on how it deals with anything but infantry as they don't have any resistances at all.

WEll that's a bit of assault and battery type of post. Personally I think the 'your wang is bigger than my wang' discussions the least interesting but I did quite like that site for the history of daily kills and playtime that it showed.

You can also see your daily kills on the official Planetside site. Go to your account, and click Killboard.

Im just saying that it isn't as good as a tool people are saying it is. My stats on there for my main and trash alts was last updated on 7/14 and if it can't keep up with basic stats for half a month then what else is it missing in the overall parts?
PS2-stats may be nice for some things but it just isn't good for anything that means a damn to me. Like if balance is off. Look at the infantry weapons page.
http://ps2-stats.com/weapon/infantry/
Every single section in there but for melee is no good anymore thanks to patches and added weapons. If there is no way to remove or filter out old data from before patches and added weapons then you can not use that data in a balance debate. The old data is just to much for new data to overcome without an equal amount of months to counter each other and then you still wont know if the new data is good or bad thanks to not being able to see just the new data.
We need another Cupboy.

No. We need someone of similar ability prepared to operate a community resource without personal gripes affecting the feeds or updates.
His stats were awesome but he ended up being a bitch punishing the users for his own argument with the forum mods, expecting to be treated with kid gloves rather than like everyone else, which was a shame because I really liked his style and commitment, up to the point he pulled them.

Some of us far exceed the capacity of that board and ps2-stats had many metrics for your daily stats.

Also it seems that it counted NS weapons as NC exclusive which lead to a whole lot of NC bragging that they could do better with the same weaponry and we couldn't even get it on the board.

For personal stats try out http://www.planetside-intel.com/. It doesn't have the top weapons chart but it does personal stats very well and you can do a side by side comparison of characters stats.

Well you can't have everything I suppose :P I think the main problem is that since the official site only keeps track of the latest xx number of kills, other Planetside stat sites need to save the older data on their own servers. With I suppose costs a lot of data if you save all the data from all the players.

I found the data hives for this. If there's enough demand, I'll spool up some compute in AWS and start recording kills.

I don't know about anyone else but thumbs up from me. The daily stuff can't be found anywhere else afaik.

Mmmm, I see no one else is speaking up .. shame!!
But I don't know why the daily stats can't be added/given to another fan site. Maybe Hamma or Gryphon could take it on if they're willing rather than maintain a complete different site.

Perhaps; either way, I'm building out the collector - granting query access would be far easier for me than hacking together a front end.

If someone could do me a super solid and collect the approximate launch timestamp of each GU, that'd be swell. Day is fine, but day and hour of the servers going back up would be exceptional.
It looks like I might be able to backdate a certain amount of SOE data here, and previous stat sites' inability to separate weapon data by GU seems to be an omission vs. an impossibility.

Recording harness complete. Assuming this is peak hours, PS2 is running at about 25 kills a second across all servers. TMYK.
Mods: I'm just going to keep spamming this thread; feel free to move it over to the API section.

Sorry for grabbing this old thread, but I just saw it and wanted to reply even if it's a little late.
ps2-stats.com was/is my site, but I couldn't find the time to update it's functionality to the new PS2-API and therefore had to shut it down. I'm very busy with other things right now.
Is there still interest in getting it up and running again? The criticism I've found here is right - there should be monthly stats for weapons in order to see changes of balancing etc properly.
I have to say I was a little bit disappointed by the number of visits I got, also, and I still don't have so much spare time. The server required to process all the weapon stats for every active player is not that cheap and I couldn't afford it anymore as a student..

I used your site in the past and found it helpful and interesting. Thanks for putting the work in. I hope you can get it up and running again.
