Is it just my computer or is the beta site loading really slow right now?

Don't know about the beta but the official site is not loading. It seems to be either really bogged or down.

Civ, yeah I guess it is the official site too, just 30 minutes ago it was loading fine. It is litterally taking 10 minutes to open one page on the official beta forums.

I just happen to know why the site is going so slow, err i think i know. (for an undisclosed reason) i know that the next batch of beta emails has just been recieved by the masses, and every god damn one of them is going to the site to fill out the form and recieve their beta discs (i am anyway) ;)

I'm going to fill out the freaking form, and then three or four days later -- or MORE -- I am going to get the discs in the mail when I'm at work, and since I'm not there someone is going to think they're promotional 'coaster' CD's from AOL or some shit, and throw them away. AAAAAARGH! I KNOW IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

Maybe someone will get the CD's fast, and I can DL them from DC++ or something. :P :P :P

well actually all us "Open" beta testers who got the email yesterday arn't in yet.

Just because you were accepted doesn't mean its starting right now. It said "when open beta starts we will mail you CD's"

and on top of that it said you arnt even guaranteed to get in.

Trust me you guys ou wouldnt wanna download it during open beta. It would run way way slow, right now about 1300 people are in the beta I hear . And i hear that its taking cable users 6 hours to download it when i hear it only took 1 1/2 hours 5 days ago ;) .

Which is still faster than the week it'll take to get cds...
