I don't think this has been posted yet:
http://www.twitch.tv/planetside2/b/439939050
It's around an hour long and they talk a little about the PS4 version, future updates, some more stuff (I just skipped through it so I am sure I missed some stuff) and an Q&A at the end. They also talk a little about the launch, about how the game is SOE's most successful game. The game had 1 million registered players in its first week, and at this time the game has 5 million registered players. Not too bad :)

Sadly having many registered players doesn't mean much if you can't retain a large portion of said player pool.
So we will soon™ be seeing the start of outfit owned bases, if only in an aesthetic sense.

While displaying Actives would be a much better health check, 5 million turnstile is nothing to sneeze at. Here's hoping they have a plan, and the plan doesn't suck. :)

I'm disappointed about this presentation tbh:
Very unprofessional, you should not use Powerpoint like that for a keynote in the first place but if you do, please don't screw up with hair pulling beginner mistakes.
Old news, 90% we knew already. I was waiting for some real revellings and surprises, hoping they would surprise us, showing some real new stuff.
Where's the frickin' magic and spark? I was expecting Higby and T-Ray being energetic on the main stage, revealing all kinds of cool stuff and make us scream like teenage girls. I was expecting a first playable demo of this game on PS4 for instance.
Doing a half-assed powerpoint presentation in a ugly lit conference room in front of a bunch of drunken TRG and 666th Devildogs guys is not exactly my idea of making people enthusiastic about the years to come for this franchise.

I think your expectations were too high. This game has transparent discussion from the devs on a frequent basis. What were they going to talk about?

Last years was better but they had something to show for PS2 and they put some time into it.
This year was about EQ.
PS2 was pretty much a command center episode with a larger audience.

@Rolfski: Pretty much agree just felt flat and lack lustre EQ Next might have been the headliner but it was a good chance to go "this is what we've been working on but haven't shown you yet" or just expand:
Battle Islands - Extended preview of the nexus or something and planned concepts for the other 2 islands.
Resources - more in depth for mechanics and power delivery system.
Cosmetic expansion - where are they going to take customization, what can we expect from the model updates etc.
Next GU update expectancy and scheduling is it on time etc.
Ok so there was the outfit recruitment and a couple of small things - but it wasn't earth shattering.
Audio was rubbish and I had difficulty hearing questions from the audience, had to guess what was being asked based on answers.
Just hope that there's going to be a Round Table report with less glossing over at break neck speed. I'd have been pissed if I paid for the weekend and that was it..

Registered players are just the pool of email addresses they have to spam please come back, heres some gifts to at various intervals.
Unique concurrent users are a far stronger and more representative statistic of popularity than registered players. If it was possible to know and combine that with average daily hours wed have a reliable estimate of the games health on any given day.

I....was hoping for something to pazow us too (even if it was an extension of what currently know). It was great to hear what info they did give but I was looking forward to a traiiiiiin of more information and such for us to discuss as soon as it was released and for us to present feedback by the time they were back from SOE Live. Oh and I would of killed to get access to those player/dev panels and just being able to hear what was discussed. :( Maybe next time.
Which reminds me, is SOE Live considered a sort of holiday? Or just more work, but with booze?

Mostly this.
They dont have "big reveals" in large part because they are so open with the community about their development process.

You should be able to find the recording in the past broadcasts tab (or something like that, on my mobile so I can't check).

This, to me, was supposed to be less the bastardized offspring of a circus and a political rally and more a business meeting with some public attendance. They revealed a few things, but most of it I suspect they will keep under wraps for a larger event come Q4.

That doesn't give them an excuse to do such a half baked, uninspired presentation. People payed serious money for this SOE Live event to get excited about Planetside 2. I would felt ripped off if this was the best they could come up with.
Open community involved development does not mean that you cannot make great revealings. There's tons of cool stuff on the road map that they could have shown for the first time.
The thing is, these guys know they can do way better than this underwhelming afterthought. Higby sarcasticly admitted himself he dropped the ball:

Honestly I think I was kinda expecting/hoping for some PS4 footage.
Playing PS2 on the Vita just seems so ridiculous, are there even enough bloody buttons?

I liked when the PS4 guy was thanking the PC community for debugging and improving the game so they could use the input on the PS4 side. I thought he was going to get up and shake everyone's hand.

The only buttons Vita doesn't have is R2 and L2. But that's easily fixed, considering the existence of touchpad and touchscreen on it.

Oh wow I totally forgot Vita had a touchpad on the back. I'm really curious how far they implement touchpad stuff (ie porting all the cursor functionality over?). Did they announce any details on FOV or frame rate targets?
The keynotes showed exaclty what are the big highlights of the next year. Sad but true, as you can see, there are no real highlights.
Just accept it: SOE almost stoped investing in PS2. They are just feeding the shop and the hope of the fans.

You're 100% right. The continental locking, lattice and resource revamp are all just part of an elaborate hoax. The new continent on the PTS is just an illusion, induced through hypnotic techniques. The PS4 port is also a lie and the console itself does not even exist.
Higby is a poorly animated jpeg.

Underwhelming, but I didn't expect much from Planetside 2 at this event. We know what is coming. All they could have done is show us concepts of what they might be adding later. We've already seen concepts that haven't made it into the game yet... if ever.. so I don't really care to see more. Crossbow, NS flamethrower, NS grenade launchers, NS flying carrier anyone? Do you honestly want to see more concepts?
I guess I would have liked more information on the 2 other battle islands. They have to have some idea what they will be like at this point, but we don't even know when Nexus will be released. They seem to really want to push out Hossin and then wrap up Nexus before they start on the next 2 battle islands. I'm guessing we probably won't see continent locking until some time early next year.
I thought it was entertaining at the begining with Higby's ADD and the powerpoint issues though.

I think you're being too hard on the devs.
Firstly they've set out their stall to be open and to constantly keep us informed of developments all through the game's like so far, at least to the best that they can.
Also, via the roadmap we can provide feedback on future plans.
Because of all that it wouldn't be possible for them to logically introduce something new and unprecedented because we would already heard it all already.
What they could have done was to add a little more colour to what we already know and over the three days they did that. e.g. Hossin, lattice layout etc.
ps after criticising Hossin as much as I did, and from what I saw nearly the only person who did, this is me doing a little brown-nosing.

I like the presentation, they talk to fans like friends and family. not being uptight with cork up they ass is a good thing. I do agree that they could have given more detailed info about future plans tho.

Isnt this Supposed to be a fan faire for the company and players to get together and have fun and not a mini e3?

Essentially.
I would have preferred to see PS2 on the main stage though rather than crammed in this small room, that was the only thing I was disappointed in.

I was in the room. The atmosphere was fun and am glad I went. No big reveal, but they keep us so well informed as it is I would have been surprised had there been one. With all the EQN hoopla,it was nice to get just us PS2 folks in a room. Higby even said he wanted to be able to tell the organizers it was stranding room only so we could get a bigger venue next time. It felt more like a gathering of friends as stated above. I was stone sober by the way. I do not drink.

I would have loved to have been there. I just didn't really expect much from the event. It was basically a live command center. Which isn't really a bad thing.
Was just hoping for a little more tidbits that might make people want look forward to specific things being released in the later part of the year.

Honestly? It was awesome, I think over 100 PS2 players showed up this year (I don't recall the exact number) it's an awesome community where it feels like everyone is equal. Some great discussions were had across Outfits, Empires and even across the world. I cannot wait until next year!
Even better folks like Jax and Goldenboy from MLG got to see what this community is all about.

Though the Keynote was sort of Planetside 2's, well, keynote address, there were plenty of other panels and discussions that probably won't appear on Twitch.
-Environment Panel
-MLG Panel
-Roadmap Panel
-Something Else I'm Forgetting
There was also "Brunch with the Devs" that had a good 20-30 PS2 players able to sit down and pick the brains of Higby, T-Ray, XanderClauss, Malorn, and a couple others. To quote Higby "I feel like I'm at a pitch meeting, you guys are just throwing ideas at us...and I love it"
We got a few new insights into the game's development and some fleshing-out of the features on the roadmap. We got some of our personal ideas and some of the community's ideas on the table to the dev team in an unfiltered, direct format (yelling drunkenly at them). We had tournaments and events!
So while the Keynote may not have been a fireworks extravaganza, we all had a great time meeting the devs and eachother and I think we really got something out of attending. Hoping to go again next year.

Robo is correct. There were about a half dozen Planetside 2 focused panels that were not streamed in any way. During "Brunch with the Dev Team" I had the opporunity to chat at length with one of hte technical directors about how hard the triple load screen has been to fix. I gained some interesing insight into the technical challenges of the game.

There was nothing really new but still, quite interesting. One thing I saw was that Nexus would be rolled out, sometime in November. However I'm curious as to when we shall see it on the Test Server.
If anyone at SOE live played on Nexus, what were your thoughts on it?
Shame the panels weren't streamed but there you are.

Nexus was not available for play at SOE Live. We got to play Hossin at the same time everyone else did on the PTS. The squad showdown was on the live servers.

There is evidence for my statement. I refer your grace to this thread made on the 22nd July (http://www.planetside-universe.com/showthread.php?t=56089), in which Higby specifically states what I was led to believe. :)
The prosecution rests its case .

It's pretty hard to go to Vegas and not have a good time... so, I don't think that should be the measure of the PS2 event.
I watched it online and I was pretty underwhelmed.
They can still be open about development... and have some nice nuggets for the fans.
I understand that EQN was the star of the show, this year... but generating excitement should be a goal for ALL of their major games (I assume PS2 fits in that description).
