Is that the new TRAP M1? It looks like muscle fiber. Gross.

Looks interesting. It's giving me more of a VS feel, but at least they are making new models.

Looks like it belongs in the VS arsenal if I'm honest, it is nice to see attempts at new models though.

First of all... Where did you dig that pic up?
Nice looking gun. For some reason it say Mass Effect but it does not really look like any of the Mass Effect weapons.
However seeing that the mag is inserted on the side I suspect that it will have a nasty kick to the side...

Since recoil direction is a function of propulsive impulse axis torqued against grip force centroid, modulo any gas ejection modifications, I'd hope not. :)
edit: I win the pointless nerd word award for August of 2013. I expect my bronze bust and local paper column in 4-8 weeks.

It was flashed on the screen briefly during Command Center yesterday.

What he said, I actually screen capped it and put it up today.

Not quite what I have in mind when I think of TR (More like re-purposed VS tech?), but I'm lovin' the unique look to the gun. Hopefully more weapons are given distinct looks!

looks like some futuristic FG42, just from the design it's either a new type of marksman rifle or they're going in the other direction and making it a needle/stake gun as the magazine seems very small for bullets
oh and anyone else notice that at least in that picture it's designed for left hand users

They look a bit like the Geth weapons from Mass Effect. Definitely more VS-like but who knows, the VS version might be even more alien.

It certainly looks a bit alien for a TR gun. And assuming this is going to be the bold action class that keeps your eye in the scope for your follow-up shot, off balancing it by putting the magazine on the side doesn't seem like good gun design to me for such a supposedly accurate weapon.

I love it. Finally something that looks appropriate for a game set in the 29th century. A lot of art in this game feels very archaic, from the Vanguard to the Prowler to most of the TR arsenal.
I really hope the two new concepts hint at some sort of aesthetic upgrade for all Empires in the future, because when this thing gets released it will look way more high tec than anything in the TR arsenal.
I also seem to recall T.Ray expressing interest in some sort of alternate default armor look for all the Empires in the far future, perhaps sometime next year, and all of this could be part of the plan.
People are mentioning that it looks more VS than TR. Remember that the TR look is "refined and rounded", and it looks quite rounded to me. VS has more carapace and scales.

It's a sniper rifle by the looks of the stock and the sight

i'm pretty sure they were going to do that as a cert for bolt action snipers.
a trade-off imo for sniping through the scope would simply be a longer bolt- action-pull-time.

Nobody puts magazines on the side since the STEN, and we all know how great that gun was. (it wasn't)
Looks kinda cool, kinda VS-TR mashup. I think they could make it a little more rugged looking and it would be TR all the way.

Can we get a new hat with that?
