They saied that geografic location mattered when they selelcted testers so, and they are mailing the cd�s without shipping cost (from what you can gather from the peeps violating the nda...).
But I don�t know... I just think we over here is ******...

Right heres teh beef:

EXCLUSIVE BETA -> Europeans are in this beta, I know a couple of them myself. This beta is a DOWNLOAD, therefore no cost to sony aside from bandwidth, which remains a constant no matter where you are downloading from.

OPEN BETA -> CD ONLY, and SOE are paying for the shipping. Therefore it stands to reason that as the cost of shipping grows exponentially once you leave Uncle Sam Land, they wont be shipping it internationally.

Not an option. The dev team have explained that Europe will not be getting Open Beta because France and Germany have actively opposed the war in Iraq, so they are under an embargo.

I HATE it when people think that France is against the war not because its illegal but because they might lose money.

I know two or three of the euro Tribes community that are in the beta, they were e-mailed a dl location to get it from. They dled a "patcher" and then it downloaded the whole 2.4gb for them.

IMO this is only the first wave of open beta even if it's open at all, there has been no official announcements from SOE about open beta and I'm sure in an old report DaveG said there would be a big stress test before open.

Either way I'm sure this isn't the end of beta acceptances and I know for a fact euros are getting in on the beta.

and 2 of my clan mates got exclusive beta and downloaded it yesterday :mad: they are also from the UK

while i have to wait for a cd that "may" never arrive

There are two different delivery methods right now: download and CD. Your email will inform you which you should do.

So, if youre invited into the open beta and live abroad youre going to have to wait for the CD? I hear ya Neo, but Goldfox says hes in the open beta and has to wait.... I think the download option id only for the exclusive... which kinda makes sense when youre talking a 2.7GB d/load - man, youd have to have really big cojones to try and do a 'proper' open beta and let everyone try and complete a 2.7GB d/load - which kinda explains the lack of a download option.

Still, i dont fkin care because im not fkin in it! London farts in your general direction SOE!
