A fix for strikers going through terrain and a fix for taking damage through shields. That should make people happy, if they work.
Not sure about the flak armour change, don't know why they want it to be against direct hits only.

Not sure about the flak armour change, don't know why they want it to be against direct hits only.
Read it again, its says "Flak Armor will now ALSO be affective against the direct impact damage of explosive projectiles."
That means flak will get a BIG boost in ability.:love:
But a little further down it says they added the dome shields to Amerish :mad: Great so the one continent where air power is absolutely ESSENTIAL to movement and control is getting the dome shields. Didn't we already decide as a community that the dome shields are a crappy idea?

Good changes I think. Falcon change was very needed, but they should also eliminate the weird loopy path the Raven takes when first fired, would be a huge step in bringing them up to speed.
The buff to flak armor and nerfing the AV damage to infantry is huge together. Very needed I think. Gonna have to farm with the fractures a bunch before this goes live though. ;)

The addition of a AMSL altimeter means I hopefully won't barrel roll into the ground as often.

I am glad to see Flak changes. Hopefully this will encourage more people to use it over Nano:)
Fractures getting a bit of a double nerf by this too (flak + damage nerf), so it'll be harder to slaughter people with them oh well they were pretty OP :)
I am glad they are taking the rendering issues seriously.

I'm pretty sure the general consensus is "Yes"; if optimization is flavour of the next couple of months to fix then any excuses for not having proper interiors and base layouts design are pretty thin on the ground. there's alot of real estate to be used per continent and development seems to constantly skirt round the issue. I've yet to see a legitimate answer of "this is why not" to the drum that time and time again gets beaten.
These fix-it and hope "solutions" are severely trying my patience with this game; they're big but they're not clever and I certainly don't think they're innovative. Lazy and boring are the first words that spring to mind.
If they turned round and genuinely said they're just temporary while we work on x/y/z interior layout and improvement then I'd probably bite.

Your concern is the base layouts? That's why they want to put the domes up?

The domes don't fix anything bar minor interference with air and vehicles shelling infantry. This doesn't fix badly positioned spawning, spawn camping on both sides, boring interior design and fights that are over too quickly.

And i was just getting excited over this update, then i see the Amerish Dome shields..
Great idea. Segregate ground from air even more.
What's even the point of having spent 300 hours becoming a good pilot if we can't do jack to help support the fight that actually matters, the fight on the ground in bases for points?
To just dogfight around in an alternate dimension with no connection or impact on the real fight on the ground? Yeah.. Fun.
I thought they wanted the game to be about more than K/D?
Dome shields = air cut off from the ground = nothing but dogfighting = nothing but K/D
Might as well play a game that's nothing but air, like World of Warplanes or IL2 Sturmovik.
Because it sure isn't combined arms if there's a magical umbrella denying a third of the games combined arms, now is it?
I haven't even bothered to fly on Esamir lately. Don't see the point. No cover anywhere, and dome shields.
Dont even get me started on the reverse maneouver change..
Being a pilot in PS2 gets more and more nonsensical.
