View Full Version : New projectiles systhem , dont work as intended

The new projectiles systhem was meant to be better than the older versions having more visible and predictable projectiles path etc..

We have test it out in the test servers before they introduce it on live , and the new projectiles systhem was buggy and problematic ,

Basically the new projectiles lead to awefull inconsistancy and it become almost if not compleatly impossible to dodge a rocket or see it come to you properly , most of the time the rockets creates little glowing fireball ( firefart of hell ) thats remains at the end of the rocket launcher so all you can see is some time a little glowing balls at range and even in close range the projectile itself vanish and become Invisible ...

So why is this as been implemented ? The previous projectile systhem was by far more efficient

1: Projectiles still cant be seen at high render distance range

2: projectiles create little glowy fireballs where the launchers as eject the rocket itself

3: Lock on bug , your vehicules remains lock on even if your not and out of range of any lock on rockets and its anoying beyong any measure

4:The new projectiles systhem lead to a worst predictability , its almost impossible to juge the missiles speed or course since most of the time you dont even see them at all

So far the new projectiles systhem as make thing worst than ever for tanks drivers but even for infantry lol you cant dodge a missile you dont see

I don't experience that at all. In fact I think at one point you have a striker fire at you? From that range I definitely see all 5 projectiles as nice red orbs flying towards me, they've been consistently easy to see. Mana AV on the other hand are almost invisible. Have you confirmed with anyone else they are seeing the same thing? It looks like a graphical glitch to me.


But I still agree with all your points, why would I care what direction the rocket is coming from if the thing that is shooting it isnt rendering? For a start we already have a system that tells you the direction you are being hit from, its the inability to neutralise/suppress your attacker that is the problem.

For me I see a thin trail of smoke leading back towards where the projectile is coming from. Not much of an improvement.

For the sake of comparing setups I'm running an Nvidia GPU, all settings on Ultra except shadows (low), ambient occ off, motion blur off and GPU physics low.

I had a long-range tank fight between Indar Comm Array and Dahaka South yesterday. Strikers not rendering and not breakable by terrain or thermal smoke was bad enough, but the Fracture's equivalent bug was almost funny; The rockets didn't render at all, there was just a big red glow around the MAX that fired them.

I had a score of Phoenix rockets try to shower my Max with love last night.

I could see the little blue balls of joy getting bigger and I had enough time to duck into a building.

Mana turrents... different story altogether.

Team mate last night was firing Falcon and Raven combo.
Every time I looked at him it looked like he had a flamethrower (Falcon) and tiny blue wisps hovering around his arm (Raven).
I couldnt see any projectiles leaving his weapons to his target, just the above.

EXACTLY whats my video show up and whats iam experiencing most of the time at least with the older projectiles systhem i was seeing all projectiles propwerly in render ranges

but even with the New projectiles systhem the ( out of range ) rockets are still compleatly invisible NO orbs no nothing simply a indicator that you have been hit from a general direction

Not mentioning the lock on bug where you can hear the lock on sound even when your not lock on anymore and it goes on forever even if you get out and back in your tanks ...

So I paid a bit more attention last night and whilst it doesnt do this everytime I was able to see what you have in your video. Its a pretty stupid bug.

IT was happening quiet a lots in the test servers i have submit it as well and seams it as been ignore and implemented anyway ...

the older systhem was much better if you want my opinion

Now most of the time all type of missiles cant be dodge or seen for real expecially out render distance ranges they are ( INVISIBLE ) , and at render range the real projectile is invisible many time and sometime barely visible and some other time you see a glowing Firefart of hell in front of the rocket users ...

it does that there beocuse there is some kind of ivisible barrier (probably to keep vehicles out) on that platform. Theprojectiles converge on that isnted of the actual target. Similarly if you use a lancer or fvortex there you will see impact explosions right in front of your face every tiem oyu fire until loyu move beyond the "barrier"

The same result can be replicated in the wargate spawns as well Stew when you fire from the spawn room doors.
