Log-In issues?

Can't log in with the latest update, apperently the same problem with everyone in my Outfit.

Log in and it freezes at 96% between launcher and character selection screens.

On the rare chance it gets to the character selection screen it freezes at "logging in" and doesn't actually change from the character selection screen.

Anyone else having this problem or have any solutions? Or should I just wait a hour or two for this to be hotfixed?

I'd recommend waiting an hour or tow because I dont' think the update is even fully applied. I tried logging in at 9:30PST when it says the patch had started and the servers hadn't even come down yet.

So for the time being we get to sit around and pretend we're not mortal enemies. :P

I have even funnier problem on Miller.

When starting the game after downloading to 100% instead of char selection it offers to select freaking empire to play like I never played PS2 before :)

I select NC and it offer me to select the server and offers US server as recommended even though I live in Finland.

i can log into the character creation screen but i can't actually pick a server or create a new character. probably because my slots are full.

If you click on the "advanced tools" icon (looks like engineer icon ingame) in the bottom left corner of the launcher you can find server status. almost all servers are down at the moment. a few with low pop, but that is probably due to internal testing people. So that is why we cant log in, servers are still down.
looks like we just have to stare at eachother for a while longer :P

That's what I was posting about before I realized what has already been said here. Servers are still down. I briefly recall something like this happening to me with a past update as well. So rest assured our characters are safe.

Umm so i gave up last night after about 5 hour wait.. logged in now and the game has crashed 4 times in 20 minutes, and now it says server unavailable... interesting patch to say the least.

FFS, there's a post over at the SOE site about them "investigating issues" and all servers are locked.

What a bummer... Missus is out and I was going to jump on for an evening session.

Ah well... might as well start my ten meg PTS update :(

Aand it goes on... server unavailable for whatever reason. I've booted everything i have and i ran various tests just to be sure the problem isn't on my end (for example ran Speedtest from Tampere;Finland to Munich;Germany, ping was 63ms, DL speed about 75mb, UL speed about 10mb.. so exactly what it should be with my connection).

Not that this is the only game that refuses to run, thought i'd play some DayZ (stand-alone version got out few days back), but nope, can't find servers... :(

This is getting lame.

Its unfortunate but I get that occasionally the game will have issues on patch day.
It shouldnt be acceptable to have it happen a second day.

Two days now without Planetside2... If NPC's are so much of a problem get rid of them entirely and give everyone free santa hats like in PS1 for a Holiday event... Triple XP and double SC at 25 or 50% discount on Christmas Weekend!

Problem solved, now turn those servers back on!

I doubt this is on them since there's apparently few other games suffering the same problem.. unless they all run on same servers and the PS2 patch fucked them up.. :P

It's just interesting that everything else (atleast on my PC) runs fine, just not the games i play :D

You guys weren't lying they nerfed everything... including the servers it appears. Has to be some stressful times around SOE these days. Hope they get things sorted out soon.

Higby has tweeted that the servers are now up and he has thrown in a double XP week end as an apology :)
