I found 2 so far. One normal and a golden.

To be honest I didn't think I would have found the golden one where I did. It was on top of Yeti Mountain and almost lost it to a harasser team but they didn't bother to get out and walk the last 100-150m up hill they needed to.

I got a regular one for 500xp and then 30seconds later I got lucky and found a gold one hidden by some crystals on a hill, it gave 5000 xp and a golden snowman hood ornament.

Have they turned them off while testing if things are working? 30mins now and nothing and nobody in outfit found anything either.


1 hour 30mins in.... 1 snowman found.... this event is possibly the weakest iv ever seen, a normal sodding snowman hiding at the top of a mountain nobody would ever climb except to find him, unless they are just very slow to respawn and have been killed in the normal places these things are rare as gold dust and not worth it when you find em unless its a gold one

Well, i tried looking for them, 1st as NC, then as TR.. spawned an ESF both times, got maybe a click out of WG before getting killed, after that the internet had a diarrhea (I play 2 games, PS2(on all 3 factions) and DayZ, both games refused to work few hours ago),

2 hours and still only 1.... im sure they are bugged for certain people or else they just don't respawn ever and have now all been found.

No they don't its all a scam.. iv spent near 3 hours and found 1 snowman.. I could draw esamir from memory iv covered the ground so often by this point and found ONE snowman. Its a huge joke they don't exist.

Esamir has been packed full all of today. When I logged on there was at least 20 players in the WG talking about stuff while waiting in line.

Id suggest not using an ESF to look for them. They have about a 200m render distance before fighting and don't show up for anything. No radar, no thermal, no spotting. Plus you have everyone shooting you on sight while in the air. A Harasser also isn't a great idea for anything but off hours. To loud and easy to find.

It will take longer to get around but use a cloaking flash. That will remove the radar crap and let you escape if seen if you really want to go looking with fights going on.

i've only managed to find one so far :cry: ... but i've had over 10 kills of NC/VS lonely infantry slogging through the snow in the middle of nowhere... :groovy:

I do get my mossi shot out from under me, but when I hunt i do it as LA. (and hit redeploy the moment i touch ground :huh: )

I found 5 in about 30 mins this morning while roaming across Esamir in my wraith ATV. Had to dodge half a platoon's worth of mossies and liberators to get out of the NC warpgate, after that it was smooth sailing.

Quick tip for Snowman hunters, found 6 or 7 normal ones in 25-30 min this afternoon:p
All but one(roadside) of them where in clusters of trees;)

Went searching for hours last night (late), found about 15 or so.
NO GOLDS.

Screw golds tbh I don't need what they offer. :P

Took me 8 hours total to find a gold snowman finally (10K XP with double XP). All I can say is don't give up. Also join a squad and give people your white snowman to your outfitmates so they can get the title quickly. Did that for 20 of them.

I tried hunting them down yesterday night. Stopped after an hour and some snowmen kills, just can't be bothered with an "event" like this.
I really don't get the appeal of this, having players resort to roaming around when there aren't that many others online or splitting off from the actual fights to farm snowmen just seems counterproductive to what PS2 is supposed to be about. Not to mention the absolute lackluster rewards for actually participating. (I have never and will never care about hood ornaments, decals or titles!)

This whole thing made me relive my WoW days.... Standig around for a quest specific mob to spawn...
What I would have wanted from an event like this would be something more along the lines of the unofficial zombie event. The snowman thing just seems somewhat rushed and more or less a waste of time.

The holiday reskins I like and I also like the snowman design itself.

Heh, true enough. In hindsight I should have cared as much about the snowmen as I did about the fireworks gun, as in not at all.

Now, had they made a huge snowman spawn on Esamir during primetime, that every faction would want to take out for a buff or something, then it could have been interesting.

Finally found my first golden one a few minutes ago. Was searching since day one and I think I destroyed over 15 normal snowmen before I found a golden one and it gave me 10500XP with the ornament (thanks for double XP SOE :D). It was a bit harder to spot as it appeared almost like a rock from 300 meters away. I knew that spot was a snowmen spawnpoint so I went closer to check it and there it was.

I found a snowman trying to place C4 on a Sunderer. He didn't stand a chance.

I came across just the one yesterday and I was on Esamir for quite some time, although not specifically snowman hunting. I too don't find it that interesting.

Stumbled across a gold one this morning while trying to dodge all the Scythes out hunting down the snowman hunters.
