I wonder if it would be possible to destroy rockets and such by shooting them enough while in the air before hitting the target. I think this would be cool but extremely hard. What do you think?

I sure hope you can't do that to pheonix's, that would suck!

Unlikely. It'd put rockets at a major disadvantage.

perhaps, it would next to impossible though......
what would be cool it one rocket could destroy another, fire a phoenix at an incommin missile.... this too would be a diffucult task, and if u stuff it up u could do double damage to your squad instead of destroyin it, lol.

Next to impossible? Not really. Especially if someone fires it at you. If they do, just aim at the rocket, which will be heading directly at you, and hold down the fire button. It'd be hard, as you won't have long to destroy it, but it wouldn't be impossible. Point is though, as a designer I wouldn't want players sitting there firing at a rocket when someone shoots it at you. It's far cooler to have players scamper away as fast as they can before the rocket detonates.

Will be interesting to see if they add flares in :D
agreed. those are a huge factor in T2. the missles are very effective on armored targets but were easily spoofed by most aircraft.
I wouldnt mind seeing that to some lesser extent.

I think giving the Reaver/Galaxy some flares is a good idea, but others dont need it. And a tank sould take a good 10 rockets to take out anywho.
mmm...I'm not sure I can agree with even the heavy requiring 10 hits to put down. who would ever drive anything else?
but yeah, I surely see your point on armor & flares. the only reason they work in T2 is because A) folks can carry them/dispense them individually and B) need them cuz they can fly.
having a flare dispenser or a skeeter or other aircraft I think makes good sense if there are heat seekers around. from what I read, most of the hand helds are dumbfire. phoenix excluded..but you're not gonna spoof a player guided rocket or a lancer beamer with a flare.

If assault rifles can't take out rockets, I believe other rockets and the Lancer should be able to. A well placed shot with a Lancer should be able to blow up a rocket. It would be trickier for other rockets to hit but with great risks come great rewards right?

the only thing im really distressing about is small arms able to harm tanks :(

Like the Beamer? Yea I think that will be sort of stupid. A little pistol actually doing significent damage to a tank. lol :p

yeah, that would be most definitely annoying

When says the beamer has an "Anti-Armor" ability, I think it means Jeeps and MAXes, not tanks, that would just be reduculous.
I doubt the ARs and most other weapons of that sort will only be able to do very minor damage to tanks and such. Skeeters and Buggys need to worry about them though, particularly the Chaingun and Gauss.
Flares should be considered in order to have a chance to break a striker's lock, but they wouldn't have much use to the TR then.
I can't wait to get a decimator indoors.
